Oranna Gro-gothal |
Oranna moves in first, looking around inside the room, "Keep close, kill things that kill you," she says in a hushed tone.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Oranna Gro-gothal |
if the splash kills us, it kills us, just remember how many 1st level characters we have here
Yea let's not get killed for stupid reasons. 1st Lvl or not, some have multiple games under their character and would rather not like to die from friendly fire unless absolutely necessary.

Go ahead and move yourselves on the map...
How are you supposed to kill things that kill you, when you've already been killed? :)
GM Tiger |
As you enter the tavern, you hear a faint voice calling.
"Is anyone there? Help! Somebody please help!"
Just for reference, the blue line indicates bright light. Anywhere from blue to green is dim light, anything beyond green is darkness
Giles Morningstar II |
Ecthelion and Giles enter cautiously. Giles asks "Do you see anything?"
Giles uses ◆Share Senses to perceive through Ecthelion's senses for up to 1 min. Ecthelion does have darkvision
GM Tiger |
As you enter the tavern, you hear a faint voice calling from within.
"Hello? Anyone there? Help me! Please!"
Trig Meral |
Softly Trig says "Presumably a trap. Let's spread out and find that voice. Keep an eye on each other."
Trig tries to deduce the direction of the voice now that he is inside.
\Perception roll. Secret?

Kidron Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Trig, Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Giles Morningstar II |
Giles and Ecthelion push forward. "Well they already know we're here. No need to be quiet. Who's there?! Show yourself!" While moving forward, he busts his shin on a chair, its difficult to move around while seeing through someone else's eyes.
Nic Blackwillow |
"Oh, I see. Yes, yes...I shall endeavor to be of service. Careful where you step, Master Giles. There may be some sort of trap here."
Nic once again readies his various tools and attempts to remove the mark.
Thievery check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

The half elf will point out what he saw to the halfliing, being as quiet as he can be, so as not to draw attention from the baddies.
Isn't it kinda late for that, seeing that Giles just announced himself... :)

Trig calls out, "Do you still need help?"
I hadn't realized Nic was still missing HP. Did we feel we had time to heal him?
Giles Morningstar II |
...Isn't it kinda late for that, seeing that Giles just announced himself... :)
I thought the door being busted down did that just fine before Giles spoke up, and given that whatever "prisoner" heard us. But I could have been wrong.

Tentacle Slam (2nd) attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 potential bludgeoning damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Giles concentrates on their connection and boosts Ecthelion's strength while the tentacled construct moves into position.
Ecthelion starts by trying to swipe at the humanoid's legs to knock him down and follows it up by slamming his tentacles downwards.
GM Tiger |
Ecthelion tries to sweep the humanoid's feet from under it but it just grins evilly at Ecthelion. He also easily dodges the tentacle slam attack.
Nic Blackwillow |
Oh, you sodding piece of-- Grimacing in pain at the blow, Nic sidesteps into a flank with Ecthelion, then stabs at the axe-wielding figure before retreating.

You are +1 to hit and +1 dice damage from my spell
GM Tiger |
Did he crit?
No. Magic Weapon gives you an extra die of damage. So instead of 1d12, it's now 2d12.
GM Tiger |
I didn't catch it, some one magiced my weapon?
Joran did.
Giles Morningstar II |
Trig Meral |
And I cast Magic Weapon on Oranna's weapon.
Even after weapon users buy the +1 rune the extra die still makes Magic Weapon one of the most efficient level 1 spells when it comes to damage.
It drops off in usefulness once the Striking rune starts being bought.

I expect that the party avoiding it before Nic erased it was A Clue, though. Which would be why Nic has a hole in him the size and shape of the business end of a handaxe.
GM T, did Nic's attack hit?
GM Tiger |
Agh. Sorry all. I thought Trig hadn't acted. My bad. Yes, Nic's attack hit.
Nic swings at blue and connects, along with Kidron. Oranna strides forward and strikes at Blue with her magically enhanced greatsword.

It's because we had the Conga Line of Death going--Nic had been flanking Blue with Ecthelion, then Black flanked Ecthelion with Blue.
