So then, I guess Asrat will take the masterwork dagger.

It looks like Ryzel's attack is +4 with her dagger.

With a masterwork dagger, Asrat's attack will go up to +3.

We'll have to try to get things out of corners so I can get some sneak attack in.

And if anyone wants the sap then, I can part with it. I was just using it until I found a lethal weapon.

Slip will also never be an effective melee combatant, but he can flank, fight defensively, and use aid another to help other people! Once he gets some kind of armor and/or a non-strength-based ranged weapon, he'll be more able to contribute effectively to combat situations! But I would de-prioritize him for gaining melee weapons until we have enough for backups.

Being a flanking partner will help Doc and Chatty be twice as effective in combat. So just doing that is very useful.

Surgery went as well as can be expected! I did sleep for like ten hours today after getting out.

Yeah, with viable sneak attack damage from our roguey-mcrogues, we can be more tactical in that regard, which is great! I've just been rushing in as our, uh, 'tank' with 15 AC to try and reduce hits to others, but mo' weapons = mo' options.

My initial combat gear was leather lamellar armor, a buckler, a light crossbow with 10 bolts, and a dagger. That would basically bring me to normal.


Just to clarify. You all received whatever items you came in with. That includes the weapons and armor you found out there.

Here they are allowing you each to pick a piece of armor, and a weapon

I would not do this, mainly because not everyones items are in here. There are some doubles that weren't included and there are extra items that are included. Keep it in the scene and what your character would need the most.

If you character already found armor, maybe they would take a shield. If they have a weapon, maybe they would take the crossbow.

Captain York said one armor (armor or shield) and one weapon. Do what your character would do considering what they have already found.

Hey @Bolkvar, if it's a stylistic preference towards the leather lamellar, Slip will happily take the chain shirt. There's currently no mechanical difference between them.

A quick accounting of armor as I understand it:

  • Blue: Armored Coat
  • Bolkvar: Lamellar (Leather), and possibly the armored kilt if Vex gives it up
  • Chatty: Leather
  • Doc: Leather
  • Rook: Chainshirt (from earlier), will probably take a shield
  • Slip: Chainshirt
  • Vex: Leather, Armored Kilt, and Buckler (all from earlier), but expressing interest in the Scale Mail

    And weapons:

  • Blue: Short sword, brass knuckles
  • Bolkvar: Improvised flail
  • Chatty: Rapier, sap, masterwork silver dagger
  • Doc: Dagger, dagger
  • Rook: Nothing yet, but I imagine he'll take the heavy mace
  • Slip: Light crossbow with 10 bolts, Sling
  • Vex: Longsword, dagger

    If I have that accounting correct, then everyone has (or will) select one piece of armor and one weapon (except Bolkvar who is allergic to traditional weapons).

    Sorry to hear about the sinus infection, Jenkins. We were having some back-and-forth day-to-day switches between 20 and 60 degree weather that caused havoc for me, too. Not so fun, that.
