Discussion for cmlobue's Colossus Heist.

![]() |

Ally - Spirits of a Doomed People
Faction - Second Seekers(Luwazi) champion
Personal - Devolved - Avian
Social - Scoured Stars Memorial
Slotless - Protector of the Future, Private Vault, Marked Field Agent, Abysshead Download, Team Spirit
I think these are the boons I'll go with. Unless something has changed since last summer and I'm doing something wrong.
The devolved boon gives Bugface a fly speed, which seems like something we'll need.

That's perfect. Everyone should slot boons. There is no need for a Starship boon, and no specific boons that you need to slot, though anything that may help you survive the colossi of Daimalko should be considered.

Moxie and Dusty get hero points for their statistics, which are not part of the 72% made up on the spot. Unfortunately, this is Starfinder, so you have no way to spend them.

Shoot, its been awhile since I've played Starfinder and I forgot that I need to slot boons. I might have better ones in my chronicles, but just to make things easy, I'll slot these. I also have some minor slotless boons; like the one from the Commencement.
Faction: Improved Acquistives Champion
Social: Known Quality
Ally: Publicist

Oohhh...have they changed how it works for Starfinder? I haven't been keeping up with that sort of stuff lately.

cmlobue |

Bugface, are you still with us?

cmlobue |

Yes, the DC on activating the beacon is extremely high. You're not required to activate any to proceed in the scenario (Gaiul eventually remembers that he can do it himself), but it is annoying when there are rewards locked behind "did you bring the right optimized characters and roll very well with them".

Hmmm...looking at my improvisions again, I can see they are all language and sense dependent. Sadly, I think deafness shuts down Moxie's main abilities.

Moxie takes aim at the creature and quickly fires two shots into the ooze before moving further away.
Double Tap, vs EAC: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 1 = 21
Sonic: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Paizo sets the DCs in high level Starfinder content like everyone is bringing an operative.

![]() |

We have an operative! And they can only hit the DCs on a 19 or 20!
Yeah, this is the highest I've played in Starfinder, so it seems crazy to me.

cmlobue |

Part of the problem may be that this scenario does not have separate DCs for low and high subtier, so they may be providing DCs for a party of six 10th level operatives.

Traveling to Atlanta tomorrow for a gig, posting might be slow until Monday.

Forgive my radio silence, I’m moving to a new apartment. I’m almost settled in and will be back soon, but bot me if necessary.

![]() |

Hey, guys, I'm going on a mini-vacation in a couple hours. I'll be back on Monday but wanted to let you know not to expect any posts from me in the next couple days. Bot me as needed.

I want to make everyone an offer. I feel like the game is losing steam after 2 1/2 months, and Gameday X is upon us. At this point, you basically cannot fail the scenario - there are no more combats and you are aware of every source of damage and can avoid them easily. "Easily" being with DC 37 Computers checks whose penalty for failure is locking you out of the program for an hour each time. So, if you want, you can spend a day inside the tekenki taking the slowest 20 to disable functions, search for the final relic and escape, and I can jump you to the conclusion. Or, if you prefer, we can continue to play it out.

![]() |

I'm good with that. Even with a bunch of aid anothers we're looking at a few more failures and watching dice fall with no real effect.
If you wouldn't mind, I'd still like to know where the relic ends up being.

![]() |

Saw this after I posted. I beat the first DC but not the other two. I'm down to jump to the end if we hit all the exciting stuff already.

![]() |

If its just basically rolling computer checks over and over I'm fine with taking 20s and getting it over with.

![]() |

Yeah, Moxie can't do much but roll aids; so she's fine with "brute forcing" it for the sake of brevity.

cmlobue |

We'll call that unanimous with one abstension, since it's been about 48 hours. The game has been reported and chronicles will go out later today. Now it's just time for you to tell your stories to Radaszam and the Daimalkans and bask in their adoration.

cmlobue |

Let me know if there are any problems. I'll keep the thread open for a few days for questions or further roleplaying.
Thank you all for playing!

Mine looks good!
Thanks for the game. Other than the frustrations with the DCs, it was really entertaining (and you did a good job of mitigating that frustration.)

![]() |

Thank you so much for GMing!!!

I'm sorry for the silence, the forum didn't notify me of posts in this thread at all!
Thanks for GMing, the chronicles look good!
