Giovanni dodges past the elemental's swings and grabs it by a leg-analogue, dragging it back to ground level with a surprised *meep*. I'm going to need extra time with Mr. Cuddles tonight. It has little opportunity to make plans for bedtime, as Allison and Otto take the chance during this surprise movement to attack. Allison gets a big mouthful of fire, but can't quite hold on, while Otto barely misses because of the spots in his eyes. Still an altogether unpleasant experience for the elemental.

Allison attacks the elemental with tooth and claw, but seems a bit disoriented by the fact that it was above her until just a moment ago, but is now below. She does get one talon into it. Otto follows up, again missing barely with one slash but connecting with the other. Guess the AC.

Elsewhere, Marta moves toward Green and pounds it. It is quiescent after a single strike, though she gives it a couple good kicks just to be sure. It collapses, and its weapon melts.

Barm takes advantage of his new positioning to chop up the previously unharmed Blue. The first two blows are devastating and the third cleaves it in two, but again, better safe than sorry. The gun turns to slag almost instantly.

The piles of molten metal and corpse chunks remain still. These don't seem to be the kind of undead to get back up.

Reiko uses a wand to fire a volley of force blasts at the elemental.

Quenly transforms again into a large monster, while his dragon holds the Breath and flies away from the source of an unexpected burning sensation.

The elemental concentrates on keeping its body impossibly hot. Fire will still damage you and it it still not vulnerable to cold.

It flies up 5 feet and turns its attention to Giovanni, who so rudely dragged him down to the ground last round. No touchy!

At the start of each of your turns, anyone within 15 feet of Red needs to make a Reflex save (DC 22 negates) or take 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 fire damage. Additionally, everyone within 60 feet must make a Will save (DC 18 negates) or become shaken.

Marta follows Reiko's lead and also casts a heightened awareness and mage armor from her wands.

What is the time so I can mark it accurately on the spreadsheet and figure out what has expired? Also what was the time when the spire was near and we cast our buffs prior to entering? I'm guessing 5 minutes prior to the battle.

I don't recall if Allison has a natural way to heal or needs a wand charge, but I will assume that happens sometime during the search and Otto's regeneration.

Another hour's travel through the cave complex (7:00) leads to an area with 4-foot-high chambers of hewn stone with pipes and conduits embedded in the walls. What they are for, you cannot tell yet.

At the end of this small chamber, there is a hallway to the left. It has two staircases, one to each side, before turning again to the right.

All stairs in this area are difficult terrain in both directions because of how steep they are.

I am content at the rear of the group. Though I wonder if a forward scout is called for? I could send the dragon a little way ahead, or go myself?

Between size and other modifiers, either a shapeshifted Quenly or the dragon under Vanish would have decent stealth. We'd need to mind how far we went from the Breath though.

Earlier... at the end of the last fight: Otto uses his wand to heal Allison (1 charge for 4 hp) and allows his own regeneration to heal his own wounds. Both should now be fully healed.

I think everyone is aware of this, but just in case not: the Communal Resist Energy (Fire) that Otto cast during the last fight has expired. So anyone who moves more than 30' from the Breath of Lysianassa (i.e. Quenly's dragon) takes 3d10 fire every round from the Fire Dominant trait. Communal Air Walk has also expired. Otto has two remaining Communal spells: Stoneskin (120 minutes, divided amongst the recipients, costs 250 gp for each recipient) and a "free" scroll of Communal Delay Poison from Zarta; as before, he'll hold off casting any of these until requested or until it seems obvious from gameplay.

When the group enters the complex, Otto uses another charge of his wand of longstrider on himself, as well as one from his wand of heightened awareness (discharge for initiative). Otto uses his final casting of barkskin (shared) on himself and Allison (this is not extended unless someone happens to have an unused charge on a lesser rod of extend, so it only has 60 minutes duration for each of them. Also, if Quenly wants another casting via channel the gift this is the last chance since this is his last prep (out of 6!)

Now that she has resumed her normal large shape, Allison is able to fit her narrow frame into the small stairwell without too much difficulty squeezing and with Otto still riding along. Seeing how skinny she is Otto realizes that it has likely been hours since she has had a proper meal: fire elementals, even mythic ones, are meager pickings for a hungry dinosaur - hopefully there will be better sustenance here...

If you do want to go swimming... it deals more than 3d10 damage per round, FYI.
