Welcome my four foxes to an extravagant wondrous playing of... SUNDERED WAAAAAAVES!!!.
Anyway, the scenario hasn't dropped yet so I don't have slides up or anything else. But go ahead and pop in here and ghost dot with whatever ALT ID you wish to use in gameplay. No need for character information yet either. I'll have a form on the slides to fill in when those go up.

So, I am using the same alias as the character I intend to make for PFS2e. It's the tengu though. I just didn't want to make a new alias for the one-shot.
GM TOP
That's cool, I did that for a SFS PC.
If anyone has character creation or game mechanic questions, you are welcome to ask here or in gameplay ooc chat or even over in discord. I'm likely to monitor about any of those spots equally well, plus maybe someone else in the group may have the answer faster.
Has anyone never played pfs2? If you have not or it has been a while, do you want a basic breakdown of things or just learn as we go?
Posh Nanjet
I'm going with a wizard that believes he's a fighter. :-P
Recycling an old alias -- current tagline is from a 1e game
Prince Ellen
"Prince" Ellen is here, high-cheekboned and bare-knuckled!
...Y'know, figuratively. She's got handwraps!
GM TOP
I'm not going to have time to build a PC - is it ok if I just use the Fighter pregen and say that he's a kitsune?
Absolutely!

Alright, here is some backstory and then I'll tell you all what I would like to have you work into your character's stories.
Five years ago, many regarded the Brass Bird as a fearsome pirate ship that sailed the waters as far north as Varisia and as far south as the Shackles. Captain Renlock recruited a capable crew and though they were relentless in their pursuit of treasure, they rendered mercy upon those they captured—often releasing prisoners to leave aboard relatively undamaged vessels. Still, Captain Renlock’s piracy drew the attention of numerous navies and privateers in Avistan and Garund. When a pirate hunter from the Andoran fleet finally caught up to the Brass Bird, Captain Renlock cut a deal to spare his crew, turning over his ship and himself to commute many of his crew members’ sentences.
Renlock spent the last few years of his life in prison, keeping his trusty clockwork parrot, Cawlo, close by his side. His crew scattered to the wind. Some members of the Brass Bird served time in jail for other crimes, but most were released after only a few months.
So, as you maaaaay be able to guess, this scenario was built with the four pregens in mind. All four were part of his crew. Now, if you are playing a reskinned pregen (Onna and Abraham Z. took the rogue and fighter, respectively) then you have everything you need. Just at least read through the background and motivation stuff for your character.
However, if you are creating your own PC (Utara and Hiiragi have already done so) then I need you to pick one of the remaining pregens (cleric and sorcerer remain) and create some way that you would know their story. You could be a family member, a very good friend, a lover, even just a huge fan of them blabbering their stories at the tavern. Run anything super complicated by me if you need to. Regardless, you just need to have the motivation to see their story through (or hunt for treasure) if/when you get caught up in the plot.
Take a look at the pregens here for inspiration and to pick. If you still need the BB Code for them, let me know and I'll track it down.
Posh Nanjet
Got most of the profile updated.
Will try to take a look at the pregen stories today, if I can.
Feel free to look over my profile and advise if anything seems amiss.

No worries, we are just getting started. Tomorrow is quite fine. I’m crashing for bed myself, talk to y’all later.
GM TOP
Aight! Slides are up (they are in my header and at the top of the page). I need your pfs2 information on the first slide then please fill in your marching order/initiatives/character piece on the second slide.
I also created a spot for the letters you received. They can be found here or at the top of the page. Please only read yours. However, after that you are welcome to do whatever the heck you want with it.

Sorry for the posting delay everyone. I'm a bit slammed with childcare and work for another day or two. Will post as soon as I can. Thanks for your understanding.
Jadren Tagar Z.
Sorry again for the slow posting. Life feels a bit full these days. Appreciate your patience.
Prince Ellen
No worries-- we're kind of milling around while we wait to make sure Posh/RePete is okay anyway, so I'm just filling time with Ellen's bad sense of humor.

Correct, I'll let you all know when I hear back from him.
GM TOP
RePete is doing well, but his plate in life has been doubled... then tripled and then he got an extra scoop on top of that. He is going to bow out of our current games (pfs1 and pfs2) and hopefully be back to a somewhat normal level of irl difficulty by the time the next ones start up.
So, shall we pick one of the unpicked pregens and continue along? If so, would one of you three like to play it or do you want me to run it?
Prince Ellen
We can do that, or we can check to see if there was anyone of us who was considering joining but saw the slots get filled and went "eh."
But if we're adding a fourth pregen and one of us is running it, I'll only run it if I'm the most PF2 experienced. (Which I might be? One short adventure path (levels 1-4) and one PFS2 scenario.)
GM TOP
Since there is actually very little pfs2 experience in the group I should actually probably just run it myself and allow you all to guide their actions if there is a question as to what they should be doing. Running a single pc isn't that much in addition to gm'ing. I'll just pick the one that Posh pulled the backstory from if that is cool.
Prince Ellen
I figured the Backstory Pull would be the case anyway-- just having Elsir show up kinda works, given the character.
Jadren Tagar Z.
Sorry for the slow posting everyone. It may be a few more days before things settle down a bit. Please don't let me hold up the action - feel free to bot me as needed and I'll post when I can.
GM TOP
Tis cool, it happens to us all. I'm mostly afk from posts every weekend so I am in no place to complain.
I shall bot you well. I think Ellen mentioned something about a sacrifice? :P

The only thing I need (beyond final reactions in gameplay) to complete your chronicles is what level your characters are that I will be assigning the chronicle towards.
GM TOP
Ellen doesn't properly exist yet, so... level 1?
That would make the most sense!

I can't remember what I wrote down on the sign in sheet but I'd like to assign this to Fyn N' Gyn, 100198-2003, who is currently level 2. I assume there's no Reputation for this, but if there is, he's Envoy's Alliance. (And I also assume no Downtime?).
Thanks for running! It was very interesting to get a chance to see how the game plays at a bit higher level. And y'all were a great group to play with, though I'm sorry that I was sometimes too busy to fully do my part with the roleplay side of things.

Dev is brand new. Well, I mean he was until I took him out of the box to play this game. Did he lose all his value? I paid a ton for him, but I think he's only with one level now. :(
GM TOP
No downtime that I can see anywhere for this, which makes sense since it is for level 5 pregens (or campaign mode pc's) and can be applied to any other PC so it would be hard to roll the right level earn income. I reported reputation and put it on the chronicle.
I have sent an email to get your reported pc swapped to the correct one, but as usual the chronicle carries much more weight than the online data and who knows when or if it will get updated correctly.
Speaking of which, Chronicles are here!
Also, just a quick survey question.
Who wants to keep going with this (or a similar) group of foxes?
GM TOP
Anyone? Going to continue on or just head back to pfs1?
Devereaux, The Crescent Moon

I said I was in this to help get someone far enough along to unlock the kitsune, so I may as well keep going.
I guess I need to look at the PF2e Society guide to figure out how XP and stuff works.
GM TOP
No stress Dev, odds are I'm going to run another Campaign Mode something next.
XP works on Base 12, as in every 12 XP you get, you go up a level. A normal Scenario gives 4, a Quest or Bounty 1 and Modules or Sections of an AP give 12. So it breaks down to the same leveling experience as pfs1.
Reputation with a faction is sorta useful as well. Some of the faction boons are nice. It generally grows at the same rate as xp, though levels or repuation are different (tiers at 20, 60 and 120).
ACP is what you use to buy boons now. It grows, normally, at the same rate as XP. But specials and conventions and gm'ing stuff gives you bonus ACP. A Kitsure (and most fancy races) cost 80 ACP.
As for other purchasable boons (from faction or miscellaneous), they just cost flat ACP, assuming you qualify for the purchase. Some scenarios also come with boons, but you still have to go download them. I haven't checked to see what the one on this one-shot was, but hopefully it's a free boat!*
*Or even a mystery box! A mystery box could be anything, EVEN A FREE BOAT!
GM TOP
Jadren? You certainly are under no obligation to continue with this crew, but I think there will be more play for Ellen and Dev (or someone else) in the future.
_______________
FYI, I looked up the boon on the chronicle. It pretty much allows you to play one of the pregens from sundered waves in a pathfinder scenario instead of a regular PC. So... not sure how much value that has to anyone, but if Jadren or Dev really liked the PC, it might be worth remembering.
Jadren Tagar Z.
Sorry for the delay in responding - been a hectic week.
Sure, I'm interested in continuing to play, but I'm not sure what you have in mind? Personally, it was hard for me to really wrap my head around the idea of Jadren being a kitsune (especially since he was already built) so if we want to move ahead with an all kitsune party then I should probably just go ahead and build one from scratch. But then are we talking about a home game outside of PFS? Or running something in campaign mode (can that even be done with regular scenarios?)? I've actually never had a chance to play an AP so I would jump at the chance to do that but I don't know if that's along the lines of what you are thinking and that's a big commitment for you (and everyone else too).
Jadren Tagar Z.
Re the chronicles - all looks good and thanks again for running, GM!
I'm noticing that one of the weird things about this new online boon system is that the reporting system has a new kind of weight, where in the past you could just rely on your physical chronicle sheets and not worry about it too much if there was a discrepancy between the sheets and paizo's online records. What I mean is: since the reporting system thinks that this scenario is assigned to a different character of mine, it won't even let me look at the chronicle boon, let alone download it, for the character I actually assigned it to. And presumably the same will be true in the future for any reputation-based rewards that he wants to "purchase." I know you've sent an email to the reporting system to change it GM - many thanks - but I mention it here as a caution for everyone.
GM TOP
There are a few 12 xp module type things (at various levels) I was considering running for credit in campaign mode. I would strongly suggest you create a character (Kitsune ideally to keep the theme) for this one, pregens won’t be nearly as fun for something longer.
What should we do for a fourth?
Jadren Tagar Z.
Ok, so kitsune but otherwise within the constraints of PFS? And what level? I'll start thinking about what to build...
As for finding a fourth, maybe a post in the general Cottonseed recruitment thread?
GM TOP
Okay, so we have pretty limited options to play.
They call them 'stand alone adventures'. Each grants 12 xp and a variety of rewards depending on which we do.
The Fall of Plaguestone, The Slithering and Troubles in Otari are all available right now. July 7th Malevolence comes out.
I believe Hiiragi has already done or is doing The Fall of Plaguestone so that limits us a tiny bit.
The Slithering is for level 5 PC's and has four pregens you can use that I assume were made for it like in Sundered Waves. I can evaluate whether we need to incorporate any of their information into your characters if we choose that one.
Trouble's in Otari starts at level 2 and ends at level 4 (not sure if you play at level 4 or just get to level 4 though).
Thoughts? I'll let you all look up the details on those adventures if you need more information about setting and summary.

If no one knows anyone who would be a decent fit and solid player, I'll put out a recruitment thread.
Jadren Tagar Z.
I haven't played any of those and am open to playing any/all of them.
Looked at the Kitsune options last night and I'm thinking about building a sorcerer. Would that fit with what we already have?
GM TOP
I believe Ellen is playing... Ellen. Aka Punchy Mc-Pun-cherton the Monk. Other than that, I have no clue what Onna/Dev will bring. I expect they will go with a new PC as well, though any of you are welcome to take the bones or the background of Dev or Jadren if you want.
And continuity wise, I'm very very strongly thinking that I will allow you all to keep the boat and start out on your next adventure with it, regardless of the level you start or the character you develop. It's a freaking ship, amirite!?!
Sorcerer is always a good choice.
