Apologies for the confusion - you didn't feel like doing anything with your last action because the horse was so fascinating that all you could do was stand next to it in awe.

GM Screen:

Phineas:
Now that it's cast off its disguise, you recognize this as a kelpie - an evil fey creature that tries to lure people to their doom with a powerful enchantment known as a Captivating Lure. A person so enthralled by a kelpie becomes fascinated with the creature and can't help but to approach it, though only a particularly vulnerable mind will not be able to break free of the effect if attacked by the kelpie or entering the water the fey calls home.

The Pathfinders leap into action - many of them throwing wind, fire, and rocks at the creature, while Erevan runs away and quickly quaffs a healing potion. Okh disappointedly notices that the not-horse doesn't burn as well as it should.

A flurry of magic missiles fly against the kelpie, though most either splash harmlessly into the stream or fly over the creature's back. Phineas struggles as fire and ice from Okh strike the fey's side, but his small arm is held fast in the beast's jaws. It looks down at him with red eyes and chews!

Ouch. That's a critical hit, which means Phineas is now unconscious and Dying 2.

Dropping the limp gnome, the kelpie turns its hateful gaze on the goblin that tried to freeze and burn it. It sloshes through the water with surprising grace, reaching out with its vicious jaws for the Pathfinder...

Okh blows on his whistle as he glares at the kelpie, but the great green beast is unafraid of the small green goblin. Fearlessly he fires a frosty ray, striking the fey squarely in the chest. As he does so, a bottle flies from the bushes and explodes in a burst of frost on the kelpie's back. Another Pathfinder waves from behind a tree before rushing off into the forest once more.

Garad sends another stone from the riverbed flying at the fey, but it ducks the missile easily and laughs wickedly. Erevan rushes forward to the fallen Phineas, pulling out a bottle from the gnome's pack and pouring its contents down his companion's throat. Phineas coughs and slowly rises to his feet. Unsteadily he pulls the air around him into a tight ball before launching it at the kelpie's hindquarters. The missile almost dissipates before striking, but the fey yelps in pain as it staggers from the blow.

Her wrath awoken, Avonatha speaks to the fey in its own language as she shapes her magic in the form of more benevolent fairy creatures. The translucent unicorns race through the air, battering the bleeding kelpie and knocking it into the water where it remains unmoving.

Victorious, the Pathfinders take a moment to tend to their wounds before pressing onward.

Erevan takes a sigh of relief as the band of sorcerers destroys the Kelpie. He and Phineas both sit on the ground to take a breather. "You okay there, Phineas? Glad to still have you with us."

They both accept Garad's healing and thank him. "Thank you Garad. I'm sorry I let my guard down. I didn't know the majestic-looking horse was a dangerous Kelpie all along."

As the team presses onward, they find Calisro Benarry angrily correcting a map with red ink. "That blasted fey! They've added hazards to our planned route. We'll need to chart a new course, but be careful - Qxal has left us a lot of surprises."

Ahead, the Pathfinders see only thick undergrowth. According to the faction leader's map, there should be paths through here. You'll have to either find a better path or clear a route through the brush.

Erevan and Avonatha are slightly too cautious and doubt their instincts. Okh has no such reservations, pulling the group along past the vents and clouds of poisonous gas. Garad has the unfortunate luck of walking straight into one such cloud though before his companions can stop him!

Garad Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

You can take time to Treat Wounds if desired before attempting this next obstacle.

The Pathfinders emerge into a hilltop, with an excellent view of the surrounding jungle. Suddenly, powerful bursts of wind break from the clear skies. The air howls, trying to push the adventurers into trees or even off the edge of the hill!
