Huh once againt ddnt' show me any new posts weird.
"No clue on directions... I guess simple. Go where they were, or backtrack where they probably came from? I'd rather go where they were going.
| Chigao Waiyo |
The astra deva waves his hands, speaking in a slightly louder voice. "My hearing is slowly returning, and my anger has cooled. We should continue further into the castle to root out this evil cult."
Nodding her head in agreement, Chigao adds in with, "Agreed and it's most auspicious that your deafness was just temporary."- although the Young Kunoichi is quietly gladdened to know that Xef's earlier anger has subsided now.
Don't make me try to explain the in-game logic and emchanics of randomly manifesting one-off superpowers. =(
Randall nods gratefully at Chigao and Zupon, then looks sheepish.
"Honestly, I don't know. I just reacted on instinct. I didn't think anything...out of the ordinary would happen there. I've never even considered I might have magical abilities."
Scholar Zupon wrote:"Heck of a time to learn magic powers. Useful though. Remember that feeling. Instinct goes a long way." Zupon agrees at the hectic excitment.
Ahh, I wasn't aware that was how you wanted to handle the shout mechanic- my bad on that. ;)
Pausing to consider Randall's honest bewilderment at having done such a shout that was strong enough to force back a person and cause deafness, Chigao thoughtfully pipes in with, "I've heard from my master of tales about the cavalier equivalents within his... homeland?... possessing extraordinary abilities using their formalized shouting skills. I could inquire more about these warriors whenever we've a chance to return back to Olfden.", after helping to scrape off the tanglefoot residue upon the Sergeant's person.
Looking around and gauging places. "Humm.. I haven't really a clue which way to go.I was hoping maybe the Goblin's placement would make sense where they are... but Not a clue...DM rel20 wrote:Well, the one goblin was going down the pink arrow path, but the survival role doesn't provide any additional information.Scholar Zupon wrote:"No clue on directions... May as well take the tanglefoot bag then; will add in the bag's weight to Chigao's encumbrance later on but it should still stay within the light load category. In the meantime, she'll examine the pink arrow corridor for any traps or ambush- the result should carry over with that earlier roll made.

Having taken temporary claim upon the remaining tanglefoot bag from the goblin corpse [as well as her now dulled dagger embedded from it's throat], Chigao glances at both adjoining the northern and eastern/southern entryways connecting to the goblin ambush area at the bottom of the staircase before carefully proceeding onward towards the westernmost corridor where Zupon had determined was the deceased goblins' origination point.
"It may be very likely that there aren't any other goblins from either of those two directions that we're aware of... but right now, it may be more prudent for me to check upon their origination point that Zupon had discovered.", the novice Kunoichi says to the rest of the party as she reaches the entryway to said westernmost corridor.
Pausing momentarily to draw out another sharpened dagger, Chigao adds in with an afterthought of, "Nathan, perhaps your familiar crystal Psimon would be willing to take a quick look over at the other two entryways in order to determine if they are truly empty or not?"

Chigao doesn't find any traps down the corridor. A corridor splits off south as the hallway wraps around a bit. Both lead to a room with a large natural cavern (sinkhole) that is roughly 30-foot wide, 40‐foot long and 30-foot deep. The natural stone floor is completely clear of any debris. Several small passageways – high up in the cavern walls – lead away from the cavern.

No worries, I'll get the ball rolling for Psimon then. Ended up choosing a random crystal/gem avatar to represent the psicrystal [feel free to replace it with an avatar of your choice]. Probably will have Psimon go directly north to see what's up there; hope you feel better soon though. ;)

Took the liberty of moving Xef's avatar to the sinkhole area; there does seem to be a door in that area- Chigao will go to check it for traps and see if it'll need opening.
With Xephkiel examining the sinkhole, Chigao notices a door up to the northern part of this area and goes over silently to see if it is trapped or locked.

I'll have to remember that there were two other doors in the corridor that the tanglefoot goblin was in.
Also added in the weight of the tanglefoot bag to Chigao's encumbrance plus noted the addition of that alchemical item to her equipment list.

Looking into the sinkhole technically reveals the aforementioned description (boxed text).
The cavern ceiling and sinkhole walls are made of natural stone. The floor is also made of stone; no mud, sand, or other detritus mars its surface.
Chigao checks the door. It does not appear to be locked but the wood is swollen, making it difficult to move (DC 15 break).

The psicrystal moves down the first hallway, but the area is dark.

Let's remember that Psimon can, in fact, see in the dark:

Darkness (even supernatural darkness) is irrelevant, as are areas of supernatural silence, though a psicrystal still can’t discern invisible or ethereal beings. A psicrystal’s sighted range is 40 feet."
The psicrystal also could be Far Handed into something like a sinkhole or pit so that a person didn't have to risk themselves.
"You know Xeph, you don't actually need to climb down there. Psimon cannot fly on his own yet, but I could send him down there to take a look and float him in and out myself. Just a thought."

l 1 feat: Vaporized Formulae [Apoc]
Prerequisites: Alchemy sphere ((formulae) package)
Benefit: You can increase the Craft DC of a formulae by 10 to turn the formulae from a liquid to a gaseous state. A vaporized formulae that would require a Reflex save instead requires a Fortitude save, otherwise functioning as the original formulae. A formulae talent that can only be used on a single target (such as Panacea and Salve) can also be vaporized, allowing it to be thrown as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet. Creatures within a 5-foot radius burst of the point of contact gain the benefits of the chosen formulae.
Note: The 5-foot radius effect only applies to formulae that would normally affect a single target. Formulae that normally affect an area or multiple targets in an area have their radius unchanged when used with this feat.
