You must still return to the giant and bring him your specific terms, and get him to agree to them, to fully resolve this issue. Do you wish to do that tonight? Would you rather rest today and go in the morning? Or would you prefer to head out to a different destination?
What do you all think? Talia expended a lot of resources during the day but everyone else is pretty fresh I think?
@leinathan, if we went back to the giant tonight, assuming Talia burns another 5 rounds of performance, what time would we get there?

Sorry everyone, work has gotten especially busy lately and I don't have the bandwidth to keep up with this game. I don't know how long the workload is going to continue, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out. Good luck with all the things!

Sorry to see you go, Tanu! I enjoyed gaming with your personable and kindhearted cavalier very much. Good luck with the work.

Sure! Do you think you could write yourself out in the Gameplay thread?

So this is the problem with not playing casters much. I started looking for spells that would help us cross the river, if we decided to wait until morning. A few might help. I found "water Walk" as a third level spell. But it has Water Walk "communal" as a 2nd level spell.
Leinathan does that make sense to you? Can Wulfgar cast "water walk" and split it between everyone as a second level spell?
Edit:Also, nice descriptive post in game.
Talia Khavortorov
Talia can use spell kenning to give someone a swim speed. But only one person. Talia has no rope or other supplies to help get across the river, as all of that was on her horse. There's unfortunately no multiple effect or communal second level spells that I could find.
We could also scout the river for an easier way across. Climb a high tree or other tall vantage point - there's hills around, right? - and see where the river widens and turns, indicating slower water.

Wulfgar raises his sword up high and stabs it deep into the undead gator's flesh. Any normal, living creature would have died instantly from such a wound, but this creature is cursed and unliving. It claws at Wulfgar's armor, and then withdraws itself from the sword (entrails dripping from the wound) to swing its tail at Wulfgar. The Ulfen man is able to dodge the tail, and it seems that he will escape any wounds, when the creature lunges forward suddenly and wraps its mouth around the cleric's whole body.
Bones creak and flesh rips as the lizard flips itself, and Wulfgar, over violently.
LOL, I'm not sure I like what happened but your narrative is great! Well done!
:)
edit:
Ok, Wulfgar was - 21, - 47 more put's him at - 17, with a con of 14, he's dead-dead, not mostly dead right?

Hmmm, probably not. The only other 'divine characters' I've created are both first level. I don't play casters enough to jump several levels and be comfortable with their skills.
Thanks for letting Wulfgar in the game. It was fun dusting him off and giving him a good send away. Good luck with the game. Hopefully we'll have a chance to play together again.
Robert Henry
True, with a Skald and a warpriest a divine caster may not be needed. Hopefully Portia will rejoin soon, a wizard would help greatly.
It's just that I'm in sixteen other games playing most of the characters types I'm used to and a couple others. (Like a Droid in a SW game). There isn't really a character that I've got already in mind that would fit the game, even if I were to move it up to this level. And I try not to duplicating characters because the games get muddled.
So it would be simplest to give Wulfgar a good send off and retire from this game. Thanks for the offer though.

Oh no! I greatly enjoyed playing with you Robert Henry and Wulfgar is a great PC. Talia will honor Wulfgar's death in song and deed :(

Getting walloped at work. Hope to be dug out tomorrow.

Looks like Wulfgar's sheet has been reset for PFS, but IIRC his CLW wand had about 30 charges on it.
Sorry, I didn't think about you looting the body :)
Wufgar had three wands, and a vest that he wore under his armor that may come in helpful.
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: charges:38/50
Wand of summon monster: charges:50/50.
Wand of Bless: Charges 49/50
vest of surgery

Thanks, Wulfgar! I appreciate you chiming in with these items!

Sorry for the delay. I have worked more than usual this week, and I have been waiting for Casamir. I will post the new scene (the polluted river's headwaters) this evening, when I have time to make a new map and write a decent post.
Still not sure what's being done with the body. If no one posts action otherwise, Wulfgar will be buried here with all his possessions before moving on. Ooc suggestion of action is not action and will not be resolved.
Talia Khavortorov
Casamir, did you want any of the wands or the vest?
Talia has one use of spell kenning for the day. She could burn it on casting know the enemy, which combined with her song could give a total of +13 to that knowledge nature check.
Downside, we wouldn't have rope trick for tonight.
She could also cast rope trick for the night and Know the Enemy in the morning I suppose, if wanted to camp here.

What can I ask for? Mechanical information? Fluff information? Both?
Talia would be most interested in 1) is the spirit intelligent and can it be communicated with; 2) does it have any weaknesses; 3) how does it sense its surroundings (blindsense, etc.).
From a purely mechanical standpoint, her player is interested in what this creature is (is it an elemental, does it have templates, etc.), but that is admittedly from a more metagame perspective.
Talia's hesitant to take any actions until we know more.
@ Cassamir, cool. Talia will take the wand of summon monster then. She doesn't have a use for a vest, but maybe someone will come along that will. Worst case, we can trade it for something perhaps.
Talia Khavortorov
I did! Sorry for the confusiom on my part. Items of interes in order: 1) is the spirit intelligent and can it be communicated with; 2) does it have any weaknesses; 3) how does it sense its surroundings (blindsense, etc.). I considered #1 to be one item but you may feel differently.
I'm not sure if nature spirit is a type of creature or if that was description on your part. (I'm not familiar with a mature spirit monster if it exists in pathfinder).

Writing a report for a grant we just finished and it is taking a bit longer than anticipated. I may be absent a couple of days as the deadline approaches.
Talia Khavortorov
What do you all think?
GM, it is currently nighttime, or close to it, correct? How long to get to the road? (Talia has rounds of performance to burn on a forced march).
Pavo Gallonica
If we have the resources to get back to a covered sleeping area, I'd say we do that. If not, I'm game with toughing it out in bedrolls and a campfire. Seems appropriate after losing one of our own.
leinathan
I think Fort Thorn is a bit far away to reach on foot. It's about 4 miles to the road and then about 15 miles along the road back to the fort. Seems like more than a full day's journey. Plus, you'd then have to travel back if you wanted to handle the corrupted spring issue.
If you want to rest near the spring, you will have to choose a location and describe that choice in Gameplay.
Talia Khavortorov
That does seem a bit far. OK, toughing it out seems the best course of action.
Talia Khavortorov
We have 350 gp of bank notes. That would be 210 gp at the exchange rate offered by the dwarf. What do you all think?
Talia has a high diplomacy mod and could always try bargaining - say 75% of the exchange rate? That would get us 262.50 gp and still gets the dwarf 80+ gp for the act of stumbling upon us sleeping by the road.
Pavo Gallonica
I mean, it's coin in hand. Maybe we wait to see what he's offering before taking up the deal?
Also, how do we feel about replacement PCs? We could use a sneak and a caster, ideally, but who knows if we can find someone.
Talia Khavortorov
I'd love to recruit more PCs.
Sounds good on waiting to see what the deal is.
Talia Khavortorov
I sent out a couple of feelers but also have no hits.
As for buying anything - Talia would be interested, but her share of the reduced exchange coin doesn't buy much. At some point she'd like a horse, bit, bridle, etc.

Very busy at work. Hope to get caught up tonight but please bot if needed. Sorry, work is just walloping me lately.

It is very busy at work and going to be slow going for me through tomorrow.
