Xilt does mention that he has prepared for the eventuality of removing magical barriers and such.

@GM Erich - My character does have Dispel Magic prepared but does he know where to cast it to nullify the ward?

@Xilt A good bet would be the sphere itself. However, casting dispel magic upon it fails and instead rebounds upon you and attempts to cancel one of your spells.

Lucifer checks the irregular archway into the room and discovers small etchings in the rock that can be modified. Although needing some assistance to reach the highest points, he is able to adeptly nullify the protective aura in the room. With confidence, he deems the room safe for entry.

This portion of the ruins excavated by Pahg-Vahr and her ogre conscripts represents a modest fraction of the entire site, yet the magical wards are more than sufficient to keep any of the island’s giants from causing much damage. You deem that further exploration would require considerable effort by a larger team of Pathfinders and staff. So you can now return to Averaka - confident that the half-orcs will provide a base of operations for future Pathfinder forays to the ruins.

When you return to the half-orc city, you meet the first of several squadrons returning from the northern half of Flintyreach. The half-orcs report success in chasing the giants from a large lowland area and fighting their foes deeper into the hills. There the giants were able to entrench themselves and fend off the Averakan assault, but not before Chief Gorgnak suffered a terrible wound and lost several key lieutenants as he fled the battlefield. Ultimately, the water supply to Averaka returns to normal, and the half-orcs’ spirits are high. The councilors thank your group for your assistance, and a local captain sails you back to Magnimar in her ship.

Due to securing the excavation site and making a good impression on the people of Averaka, you have earned full XP, gold, 2 prestige and the Averaka-Trained boon on your Chronicle sheet. Well done! Scenario end.
