Sorry for all the delays, lots of business, should be behind me. I thought my post about swapping weapons was lost and just wanted to rush out a post.
Donovan begins to feel anger, Niu has become one of the few friends Donovan has had in his short life. he continues to slash with more power.

Oddly, this isn't working out, but Etgar is still completely unhurt. I feel like I need to pick much better extracts, cause I don't have much else to do.
Etgar slides out his spear again, trying to stab the woman.

Donovan's fathers drilling comes to his mind and he cn almost hear the gruff old man. 'Slow and steady boy, fighting is not the same as chopping wood, focus.'
With the reminder he takes a more steady attack.
Swing Long Sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Slashing Damage (Silver): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Etgar Nostrum |
Etgar stops, his spear at the ready. What the hell, lady?! What is this madness?
He looks over at Niu, then back to her. Are you done? We need to help our friend.
Etgar Nostrum |
Etgar rushes over to Niu and kneels down beside him. He gives him a good shake and a slap to wake him.
I can't give him one of my extracts right?
Donovan Dale |
Donovan will move over and lay a hand on Niu, "Please get up."
Lay on Hands + Greater Mercy: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (4) = 7
Niu |
Heart still racing, Niu sputters as he comes awake, eyes looking every which way for the spirit.
Calming a little, he grips Donovan's hand. "Is it.... Gone?"
After a few seconds with nothing else happening, he takes a deep breath, picks up his sickle and slams it back into his belt. "I thought flanking with Etgar might help you bring it down more quickly. Seems that was a stupid idea. I should definitely stay to the back."
Heading back over to the desk, he casts Detect Magic as he helps to search through the drawers. I think we'll take 20 with this search
Igar The Terrible |
The medallions hanging on the bed are holy symbols of various deities. While most deities of Golarion are included among them, Kishokish’s collection includes several holy symbols of rare or even dead gods.
The desk contains several years of Kishokish’s notes about philosophy and planar lore.
One desk drawer contains nothing but eighteen oddly shaped iron keys: three engraved with a standing rectangle and the numbers 1 through 3, six engraved with a semicircle and the numbers 1 through 6, and nine engraved with a right triangle and the numbers 1 through 9. These are the keys that Kishokish’s portrait requested. All of the keys radiate faint transmutation magic.
The desk contains an expensive looking mahogany snuffbox as well as 78 pp and 14 gp.
The papers in the desk include three scrolls.
The leather glove is magical as well. It must be the one the portrait indicated could be used against the sahkil Vithiz.
Donovan Dale |
"That sounds like the right key, but this place has been real tricky"
Niu |
Niu sighs. "Two scrolls and one magic item, but Neb-en-toti says that he can't learn any of them."
Stowing the items, he sets the glove and key on the desk. "Who is willing to try to wrest the staff away from the sakhil? Whomever should remain in possession of the glove and key.
As for resting, I could use some additional healing, that I can get from a potion, but I don't think we have used too many other resources that will be replenished with another day of rest. But, I will go along with what the rest of you want. For now, we may as well look at the room to the south since we are up here."
Niu |
"I don't believe we have discovered what type of sakhil it is yet. There is very little we can determine without that information. Perhaps the picture will be able to tell us more when we return."
Niu |
"A Wihsaak is a powerful foe. We must hope that this staff will provide a significant boost to our ability to deal with the creature, as I fear we may be overmatched otherwise.
Donovan is the only one who might be able to deal with the creature physically, given its resistance. My suggestion would be for Etgar to try to acquire and use the staff.
I will do my best to try to help, but I do not have spells that will be effective. Perhaps I can try to keep others standing by providing healing. I imagine that another night of rest would help us to prepare better magics."
Donovan Dale |
Donovan will use some more of his holy energy to work to restore Niu.
Lay on Hands + Greater Mercy: 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (4) = 6
If this foe is evil I will use my hammer and my faith to defeat it."
Etgar Nostrum |
Etgar gives a quick nod of resolve. Well, if this last fight proved anything, Don, you'll probably be needed in the front again, as that hammer and your faith is surely one of our most potent weapons. I wish I could heal you, but my extracts are attuned to my body and thus they only work on me. I can take one to imbue coins with a bit of energy to attack from afar, but that and healing myself only are really my only tricks. If I do get this staff, what should I expect?. He looks to Niu
Niu |
Didn't realize Agnimitra was that injured.
Niu pauses to spread some healing sand over Agnimitra. CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
He then turns back to Etgar, giving him an odd look as he attempts to parse the statement. "What will the staff I have never see and know nothing about do? Probably something similar to this rod I was unable to identify."
He tries to think back to what the picture said. "I think it is supposed to capture the soul of the Wihsaak. I imagine once you have possession of it you would need to strike the wihsaak with it, but that is only a guess."
Turning to the picture again, he asks. "Can you tell us anything about how to use your master's staff?"
Kishokish |
"The glove will prevent the sahkil from striking you as you attempt to disarm it. I suspect that Kishokish being inside the staff may be able to provide some aid as well. Should you strike him with the staff, Kishokish and the sahkil will exchange places. The sahkil will be trapped inside the staff and Kishokish will be liberated."
