I still need to enter her backstory, but the build is done. The only thing I am not sure about is if I can use the deity I chose for a PFS character. I don't own the book that the god is in which I think is required? However, as it only matters in terms of flavor, I don't know if that's an issue. Her domain is Protection which I could get from a standard deity, so the only thing that's really different is the anathema. I have a RP reason for her taking that god which will come out in her backstory once I get it up. However, if Qi Zhong as a deity is a problem, I'm perfectly willing change it!

I'll use the pre-gen Fumbus for this and allocate the experience here. I think we can use the utility rather than the monk I was planning on making. Besides, I've been using the same pre-gen for prior sessions.
Do I get a roll a day job still?

As always, I would rather the GM just roll my secret rolls. Survival is +9 and I have no Society or Mountan lore bonus.
Boons: Engraved Wayfinder (slotless)
Faction: Horizon Hunters.
General 1: Purchasing the the Resist Corruption Boon from Vigilant Seal and slotting that. My rep is only Tier1
General 2 Nexian Scholar
General 3: Narsen's Web.
I assume when that when a scenario rewards us for slotting a specific boon, you'll tell us to slot that boon? Like the River Kingdoms or Blast from the Past?
I am also going with the Sword school and gettng the anti-toxin and anti-plague elixers.

Sounds good Azu. I got your rolls. Yup I will tell you if the scenario mentions any specific boons
You can purchase boons on the boons tab under your my organized play page. Same place as where you spend AcP.

Oh yes, that reminds me. I haven't had a character with 3 points into Swords before. I think I still only start with one free item for the session, right? It was a little confusing.

You’ll want to forage along the way, if you can.
Apologies, but I have to laugh at this. From where I sit, this is a blatant attempt to make the Forager skill feat relevant. I don't recall a single PF1 scenario where anyone had to forage for food during a sceanrio.

@Azu- Hehe :) They are definitely using all they can in PFS2
@Bina- 3 Points: When selecting your free consumable item at the beginning of the adventure, you may also choose a second item from the options available
whose item level is no greater than half your level (minimum 1) in addition to your regular item.

Bina (Level 1) -2
Muzzo (Level 1) -2
Athmar (Level 1) -2
Mandower (Level 1) -2
Kya (Level 1) -2
Azu (Level 3) -4
Total 14

@Athmar- Here are the pregens.

Sounds good. Thanks for the heads up Kya.

Welcome back, both of you!

@GM - This is the first time I've teamed up with a Swashbuckler and I just read through the feats that apply to Bina. I wanted to walk through it to see if I understand it correctly:
1. Bina is a Battledancer. She has Fascinating Performance and Focused Fascination She starts combat with no Panache.
2. She attempted to use Fascinating Performance on the goat attacking her. FP requires her to beat the Will DC of the goat (10+Will save). Per FP, she has to critically succeed when in combat.
3. Focused Fascination says that she only needs to Succeed, to Fascinate the goat.
4. Now, Fascinating Performance says she gets Panache as long as she exceeds the goat's Will DC. So if the goat has a Will DC of 12 or lower, she both Fascinates it and gets Panache.
5. If her Strike were to hit, it would count as a Precise Strike and she would get +2 on the damage.
6. If she uses her Confident Finisher, she does 2d6 additional damage instead of the +2, but she loses her Panache. If she misses with CF, she still does half the 2d6 (but not the weapon damage)
6 (Part I'm confused about) Does a Swashbuckler have to declare the Finisher before the Precise Strike roll?
I feel compelled to play the Devil's Advocate out of a sake of fairness, even though it works to my disadvantage (because I would make a case if it helped me).
Another possible interpretation of GaE is that if your hands are tied you can't use it at all. The way I read the Crit Success and Success conditions is that you still need a "free hand" to succeed on a Success, Holding two weapons, I don't have a free hand and I need a Crit Success to use a weapon to hook the edge.
If that makes sense to you, I don't have an issue with you having Azu fall the rest of the way. I think his success would still stop him from taking damage.

Finishers are a specific action, so they need to be called out prior to attacking. It's not like the Studied Strike investigators got in 1e where you added it onto a successful attack as a swift action. It has to be specifically stated.
Not that it matters much here, even goats don't have a Will DC as low as 13. XD
GM Tyranius
|
Bina has it correct as the finisher is a single action itself, but otherwise you are correct on everything else listed out above.
Fascinating performance also has the incapacitation tag as well. Something to keep in mind.
Azu Azan

Oh, gotcha, I was looking at the map, thinking I was at the top standing over the edge. The north end is the bottom.
I have to laugh at this because I had the same issue on a different map and then I realized: the way a lot of these flip maps are drawn, it appears to be intentional that you cannot definitively tell what is lower elevation versus higher elevation. This is obviously done to increase the utility of the map.
GM Tyranius
|
That would make more sense. I was going with poorly drawn map. :) But that certainly would make it more reuseable.
Azu Azan
|
I've also noticed the same ambiguity with paths that go uphill/downhill. I guess that puts more burden on the GM to clarify which is which depending on the encounter.
GM Tyranius
|
Yup, will have to start doing that.
GM Tyranius
|
Looks right to me.
Level 1 HP = 20 (8 Human and 11 Ranger and +1 Toughness)
Level 2 HP = 32 (+11 Ranger and +1 Toughness)
Level 3 HP = 44 (+11 Ranger and +1 Toughness)

Just out of curiosity, does PF2 use some sort of party adjustment to the NPCs in terms of stats? I know it's standard to add more NPCs, but I was wondering if there are stat bumps as well to things like AC and HPs?
GM Tyranius
|
There are indeed level bumps to adventures that affects creatures attacks, AC and HP.
Here is the link.
GM Tyranius
|
Edited with the link above. You have to do a conversion between the two. For instance this fight just states:
Subtier 1–2: For each additional PC present beyond four add one shrew.
We are at challenge points: 14
That puts us at 5-player adjustment AND 1 level bump for converting the early scenarios.
1 level bump is:
GM Tyranius

Those would come into play if we were playing high tier and then in this instance would have only applied to level 1's.
They have since been retired though as a lot of the faction boons were reworked into purchased boons on the AcP Page.
GM Tyranius
|
You still have the boon if it was already purchased. The specifics can be found in this blog post.
Kya Mossfoot
|
Ack, I don't know what to do! She could do a three action heal, but that will heal the ogre as well. Alternatively, she could do a single action heal on Muzzo and a two action heal on Mandower, but that leaves Bina with nothing until the next turn and that is cutting it a bit close. She has the stabilize spell, but it's two actions and I'd rather use those actions for actual healing. What do you guys think? Especially those of you that are down.
Azu Azan

I have a suggestion. I can't see the map right now. Assuming the hell let's me change my move, I would recommend that Muzzo moved to a spot where Kya can heal all three PCs, but not the ogre. Not sure if that's possible given Bina and Mandower were flanking.
