I found myself thinking the same thing as Rags - that summons vanish when the caster is slain, but I couldn't find anything like that in the rules.

A case of Mandela Syndrome, maybe?

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Could be.

I mean, this one's a little weird, because it's for all intents and purposes just an SLA (which would mean it's a spell with a duration), but then it's "special" (i.e. - only one casting at a time, etc), which would lean toward it not being the same (and looking like something eidolon-ny).

But, I've re-read the description of the ability and other than the "one at a time" restriction, all I see are the perks: casting time, extended duration and handing out teamwork feats -- with nothing about it being linked to our boy being on his feet.

*shrug*

Female Elf Ranger (guide, trapper) 5 | 56/56 HP | AC 19 T 13 FF 16 | Fort +6 Ref +8 Will +4 | Initiative +3 | Perception +11 (+13 vs. traps) | Ranger's Focus 0/2

(Still here, just waiting for the scene to advance. Figured I'd check in.)

Ah, now I HAVE been doing a lil bit of research, if yon cleaved-in-twain half-orc was a Summoner, Yes they DO have a lot of advantages;

SUmmoning time (Can I just say CHEATER?!?), ;P duration, teamwork feats, etc.

BUT it is still just a summoning spell, and limited to the same limitations as if it were the spell cast by anyone else (except for the afore-mentioned specific mentioned exceptions to the rules)

Of course I ALSO read that some GM's read the rules as (or house-rule, can't recall) that when/if a summons conjurer dies, the magic dies with him, others say that like other spells the 'spell' keeps running and the creature is still there.

If I cast Mage Armor on another, the spell stays active if I'm killed, in fact if I cast mage Armor on ME and die, the spell is still there, protecting whats left of me. ;P

Hm,... that didn't really help did it? :P

Yep I'm stopping now,... -_-

EDIT-

Yep, what you said. ;P

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

He's not an actual summoner, just a guy with a similar power. ;)

Still,... CHEATER! ;P

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Apologies everyone, I've been waiting on Merlan's action which has been sitting there above Lysander's all this time. Sheepish is me.

Will rollover the round this morning.

It's always easy to miss the SHORT pc's! ;P

Query, before we spend any potions or spells, was this a way to write out Lani? Or just the way the dice rolled? :P

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Lani is stable at -1 -- it was Xia that almost died, and while that would have made it easy to write her out, I don't control the critical hits. ;)

Unfortunately, Lysander is out of druidic powers.

Just wondered. :)

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

Costin does have a CLW. Is that something I should be trying to do for her?

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Your call. She's currently not conscious.

M Human 5 [ HP 4/40 | AC 20 Tch12 FF 16 | Fort +6 Ref +6 Will +6 | CMD 15 | Init +2 | Perc +12, | Hero Points: 1 | Effects: none

Sandy isn't that magical, all he has is boots and a buckler.

Yep, but in round 1 of detect magic, it's just a binary yes/no on magic within that cone.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Yup. Using DM to find invisibles is.... challenging... unless the thing is static.

Yeah, if your LUCKY, you can get a decent enough idea of where a invis villain is to catch it in an AoE effect. Preferably a Glitterdust. ;P

(NEXT level dangit,...) ;P

It is tough, but I'm trying to do something to find her. Auditory perception drops off rapidly at distance, but the detect magic cone is pretty big and detects the full cone. Plus it's an orison, so I don't have to worry about burning it.

M Human 5 [ HP 4/40 | AC 20 Tch12 FF 16 | Fort +6 Ref +6 Will +6 | CMD 15 | Init +2 | Perc +12, | Hero Points: 1 | Effects: none

And serves Sandy right, he was trying to old mocking to get her to show her face.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Sorry folks, I stopped posting a round counter because you're not *actually* in combat -- and partially to have that "Where'd she go? What's going on?" confusion manifest in play -- but, to clarify -- Fiona's "before" the tiefling in init, and Xia after - so Fiona's reaction to the whisper would be in the following round. We're a few rounds after she vanished (she had to move to get where she is, and when you killed the Howler before she could do get thing while you were distracted, she waited for people to rush off before doing it.)

I'd just like to say that I thoroughly approve of Romanian as Varisian.

Romani would be good, too.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

The irony that two people that you had trouble hitting in normal combat both get dropped by AoOs for firing from reach its hilarious.

I'm really hoping it becomes an ongoing trend.

And not just AoOs... confirmed crits, both times.

Beats me. Can you cast identify?

Oh, drat, I already posted the enchantment on the arrows. Fine, it's a +1.

Also, I apparently didn't include the 43 arrows remaining on the half-orc.

F Human Samurai 5 [ HP 57/60 (0 NL) | AC 22¹ Tch 15¹ FF 19 | Fort +6 Ref +5 Will +3 | CMD 21¹ | Init +3 | Perc +9, low-light vision, scent⁵ | Challenge: 1/2 | Resolve: 3/3 | Hero Points: 1 | Stamina: 8/9 | Effects: shield of faith +2, scabbard of vigor +1 (6/10) ]

Thanks! I for one would much rather hand-wave item identification. :P

Yah. ID'ing can be fun to RP at a table, but it just drags out a PbP game. :P

(I'm totally OK with examining, RP'ing and etc an unusual or very special magical doodad important to the plot or something. But knowing how many of us can see magic auras, and have some points in Spellcraft/K:Arcane, we're gonna figure out magic arrows.) ;P

Silver Crusade

The GM can always look up (and secretly roll) our Spellcraft check if he wants to throw a misleading or cursed object our way.

I’ve also been known to say something like, “You can tell this item is exceedingly powerful” before requiring identification and skill checks on something like an artifact.

I can tell we're going to have to work on the group mantra with you a bit. Say it with me now: "I will not give the DM any ideas."

Seriously. He doesn't need them.

I agree. He's pretty evil, that GM.

Just think how bad a boss fight is going to be.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

The first one certainly wasn't. This one might have been a little closer, though it probably would have been a little easier if there'd have been less screaming to alert them and give them time to prepare with buffs. ;)

So.... no.

<Merlan looks around>
Um,... Oopsie? :)

Lani, are you OK? Are you OK? Are you OK, Lani?

Don't know that anyone struck her a crescendo.

LOL!

OK I Got the joke in maybe 3 seconds, but I had to watch the entire 9:25 minute video. I dont think Ive actually seen that whole thing before? :)

Nor had I.

I do recall it from before, but then, I'm of the "videos on TV" generation (can't say the MTV generation, I'm Canadian). Still, I much prefer the music in this version (and all the callbacks to Michael Jackson videos are also clever).

The best version of the song I've ever heard was the faster tempo and guitars of this version but with the MJ vocals.

Yeah, whatever else you may think, (Of music or otherwise) I think we all agree, MJ knew how to do GOOD videos! :)

Only one better in my humble opinion,... Is Wierd Al Yankovich.

Who has managed to remain more relevant today than most of the artists he has riffed off of over the years. ;P

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

I can never speak ill of Al. Dude's seriously talented (and often underestimated) - as is his band. Their ability to totally switch musical genres from one song to the next is crazy.

YES! THAT!

Often times in the SAME SONG! :)
