GM, is removing the stone going to be a Crafting check? An Athletics check? Or something else?

While Professor Whitegourd keeps the leshy occupied, Hornbori leans in as if interested. Skilled in athletics, crafting and medicine, the dwarf believes he is the best person for the job. Reaching forward as if to point to something the two leshies are discussing, the dwarf snatches the stone from the leshy head as neat as he can.
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Are you letting that roll stand?
Chirrit

See, just listen to the leshy. And perhaps a massage will help.
Chirrit's player would also suggest hero pointing.
Chirrit himself will merely try to Aid the dwarf.
Athletics Aid: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

I also have my coin reroll available as well if preferred

Stepping up to the leshy Crafter Professor Whitegourd starts expertly instructing him in a meditative ritual.
Gwendolyn encourages the crafter, explaining how it will improve his ability to tap into the power of the Monoliths. (Bonus Hero point for bridging the gap to why engaging in meditation is good.)
The Leshy nods in agreement, ” Yes tapping into more power is good.”. He sits down and follows the Professors instructions concentrating on nature, sunlight, and dirt ”Ohmmm”
Conso sits down and plays along with the ritual.
Hornbori leans in while Professor Whitegourd keeps the leshy occupied and reaches forward slowly before making a sudden snatch at the leshy crafter’s glowing eye. He grabs the stone trying to tug it free, but it starts to slip from his grip.
Chirrit grabs hold of Hornbori to help steady him as he pulls at the eye.
The Dwarf fighter heroically redoubles his effort and grips tightly the stone eye pulling it free from the Leshy Crafter!
The surrounding Leshys seeing their leader being handled roughly, scream and screech as they surge forward to defend the Crafter.
The leshy crafter stands stock still for a moment, raising a hand to touch the gaping hole in his face where the cyclopean shard had so recently rested. He gingerly probes the hole, swaying like a sapling in the wind..
The surrounding leshys stop in their tracks confused as they wait to see what the Leshy Crafter will do.
“Oh. Oh.” The leshy crafter looks about slowly, taking in the twisted and deformed leshys, the Abyssal plant life, the burnt and ruined valley. “...it’s possible that I might have misinterpreted one or two things.” There is a very long pause.
“Oops.”
The Leshy Cafter wanders off.
And with that, the threat of the Abyss-warped leshys has ended. Free of the monolith’s pollution, whatever leshys remain gradually slough off the rocks and animal parts that the leshy crafter used to form their bodies; though they return to somewhere close to normal (for leshys), they retain signs of their Abyssal origin, such as a bark pattern that looks vaguely like a bleeding skull, or extra vines that sway in an unfelt breeze.
Returning to Redpine camp to report the outcome of the mission, Urway is pleased and rewards your group with a single beacon shot. “A warrior’s weapon” he notes dryly.
(+1 treasure bundle)
The next morning, a still-rather-disturbing hogweed leshy trundles out the woods with a silver longsowrd with the image of a grasping arm etched into its blade that he hands to your group ” Legendary sword, for the good monsters.”
(low-grade silver longsword, counts as 2 treasure bundles.)
Having removed the Abyssal shard from the leshy crafter’s eye without resorting to violence, as far as the leshys are concerned, you pathfinders are the greatest heroes in their entire (months-long) history. If you ever return to Finadar Forest, you are liable to find your faces grown onto massive bruorsivi pines around the forest.
You hear later that the leshy crafter takes the name of Blackberry and leads the leshys to become staunch allies of the Pathfinders and the local centaurs.
Finally, because you became friends with Jaldan and received her token, when Urwal departs from the Redpines, Jaldan goes with him, becoming a Pathfinder so that she can one day be a better shaman to the Redpine clan.
Thanks for playing, I had fun GMing for you as a group and hope to see you again!
Reporting Notes PPCs resolved the leshy situation without killing the leshy crafter, check box A.
Primary Objectives The PCs resolved the leshy problem. Earn 2 Reputation
Secondary Objective for extinguishing the fire in the Outer Forest, accomplish all three challenges at the Redpine Camp, avoid killing any leshys at the Leshys’ Valley. Earn 2 Reputation.
Faction Notes Secure an alliance between the druids and centaurs of Finadar forest. Earn 1 additional Reputation for Verdant Wheel faction and gain Finadar Leshy boon.
This concludes the adventure. I will get the Chronicles posted by Saturday. If you have not posted day job rolls or downtime activities please do so on the discussion page. I understand GMs no longer add Fame to the Chronicles sheets see Paizo Blog {link}
Because this is is part of the game day online convention, I report the result to them and they report the scenario to Paizo PFS so it may take time before it shows up in the records.

That is really cool. Hornbori's definitely coming back. "If only they'd done it in stone," he mutters.

"I don't know, it looks cute carved in the wood." Gwen pauses a second, touching her face. "Wait, does my nose really look like that?!"

It was a pleasure working with you all. I continued to be impressed with all of the Pathfinders that I meet. I hope we'll cross each others paths again in the future.
Thanks for another great game, Glyn! Enjoyed gaming with everyone!
