Massielo runs to Junior and focuses healing magic on him and hurriedly says something in Celestial "עזבתי את סלאן".
"Selann, get out of there!"
CLW @ JUNIOR: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

GM Losonti |

Seeing how surrounded his comrade is, the mongrelman immediately behind the first one steps forward, grabs him by the shoulder, and yanks him back into the room and away from the party. Essentially a drag maneuver on a willing ally.

Selann Juris |

Prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Seeing one of the enemy dragging his fellow backwards, Selann focuses on his ring (Bonded Object) for a moment and speaks the words to a spell. Pulling out a bit of colored sand from his pouch he blasts the doorway with multi-colored lights. Realizing the risk he uses his class power to glimpse the future and casts defensively....

The wounded mongrelman has just enough time to throw his arm up to shield his eyes from the blast, but his comrades are not so lucky. A wave of impossible colors and light sprays through the gate, knocking several of the traitors unconscious outright and clearing the way significantly.
Wow! Very nice!

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan smiles in appreciation at Selann's choice of spell. The Inquisitor then takes stock of this colorful development...Meaning on phone; be a moment.

Tristan de Lion |

According to the Initiative tracker; Purple is down? Fun either way!
Tristan glances at Junior as he shouts in Celestial. The Inquisitor smiles wider.
Gold gets AoO AC 21
Tristan then readies for a flanker!
Greta want to flank?

Junior's warhammer clangs off of the gate near the traitor's head, doing no damage but causing the mongrelman to recoil away from the weapon. Just then, Tristan barrels through the opening, sending the would-be guardian sprawling on the floor. Both he and his comrade swing clumsily at Tristan as he passes by, but neither connect.
Greta is up!

Selann Juris |

I think you can move through me....

GM Losonti |

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
In the wake of Greta's brutal swing, several of the remaining traitors move to surround Tristan, while another hauls an unconscious comrade away from the gate. The inquisitor makes a mockery of their attacks, parrying one outright while he blocks the other with his shield.
Round 1
Benedic
Mongrelman Dark Blue Unconscious, 7 rounds

Benedic is up!

Benedic |

Benedic charges forward to relieve some of the pressure from Tristan, unwilling to abandon him to the mass of enemies. He swings his sword at the mongrelman between Tristan and him.

GM Losonti |

Benedic's strike nearly misses, but a well-timed feint from Tristan draws the mongrelman's attention away for just the instant that the cleric needs, scoring a nasty cut on his target's back.
The traitor who had been hanging back from the melee chooses now to join the fray, slipping up behind Benedic and trying to knock him down. The blow lands solidly, but Benedic's armor protects him from the worst of it. 7 damage

Selann Juris |

Prescience: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Seeing the combat in front of him, Selann peeks into the future to avoid a mistake, then slips between the cleric and his enemy to allow the others in the group to aid the man.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Greta Gyllenhår |

gods, that's a lot of them... I'm surprised Junior hasn't started a song yet... I think maybe I better use my magic before it's too late...
Greta's hair begins to glow like molten gold as a pale white aura spreads around her hammer. Having had great success attacking through the doorway last time, she stays in the same position and attacks the mongrelman who's moved into the puddle that was her previous target.

Attack either pink or orange, depending on which one Greta didn't splatter.

Greta Gyllenhår |

Sorry- I attacked orange. I kind of doubt that I confirmed though, so if it survived you might want to finish it off (one healthy enemy does less damage than two wounded ones).

GM Losonti |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

You did confirm, actually, so orange is quite dead. And Selann, your check is more than enough to get through without provoking.

Greta Gyllenhår |

Lol- lets see if anyone's brave enough to move to that spot again...

Tristan de Lion |

Hoping Selann threatens for Flank?
Round 2
Tristan smiles as his comrades begin to turn the tide in their favor. He watches as Selann tumbles through the enemy to get into position. The Inquisitor gives the wizard a salute before turning his attentions to Red.
melee cold-iron longsword, divine favor, flank: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 131d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

Selann Juris |

Red is unconscious.... But I do count as flanking! I think Light blue is still up though.

GM Losonti |

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Light Blue Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Green Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Greta's righteous fury sends another of the traitors to his eternal reward, as the rest of the party fights on with mixed results. The remaining mongrelman near the gate throws a well aimed blow at Caliban, but finds his strike deflected by an invisible shield. He, however, has nothing to protect him from Caliban's riposte, which scores a deep gash on his upper thigh.
While Tristan's attack fails to connect, it still presses his opponent backwards, and they cover their retreat backwards with a feinting strike. Another, sensing a weaker target than the others killing his brethren, moves to attack Selann. Unfortunately for him, the wizard seems to anticipate this, moving out of the way before the mongrelman's club has even begun its arc.
Round 2
Benedic
Mongrelman Pink -9 HP
Benedic is up!

Benedic |

Benedic whirls in the chaos of combat and swings instead at the opponent behind him, who came up to attack him.
Longsword attack, divine favor, bless vs pink: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 13
Slashing damage, divine favor, cold iron: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
If that hits and fells pink, he will move, otherwise he stays where he is.

GM Losonti |

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Though Benedic's swing connects, the traitor pulls away at the last instant, saving him from losing an arm. He sways unsteadily, blood pouring from his wounds, and tries to swing at Caliban. His arm betrays him, however, and his weapon barely moves.
Everyone else is up!

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban steps away from his previous assailant, instead focusing on the one attacking Selann. His blade, point down he advances to the opponent, bringing the sword in a massive arc around his head and attempting to connect with the mongrelman's neck.
Attack, Bless, Arcane Pool: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 14
Damage, Two Hand, Arcane Pool: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11
Hang on Selann, get behind me! the elf calls out to the halfling.

![]() |

I imagine pink is down
Being slowed by his armor, Massielo can't get very far, so he moves up to the far away mongrelman.
Double move towards light blue

Greta Gyllenhår |

Greta enters the room and does her best to quickly assess the situation.
the one Junior hit looks dead... those three look asleep... for now, that just leaves the one next to Selann and the one next to Massielo, and I can only reach one of them from here... Ragathiel, guide my swing...
Turning towards the only enemy that seems conscious and within her reach (light blue) the petite warrior brings her hammer around again.
bloodrage: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 1 = 21
for: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 = 18

Tristan de Lion |

Assumming Greta totals Light Blue; even with soft cover...lol.
Round 2
Tristan watches as the bath of blood washes over him as Greta introduces herself to yet another demon-kisser! The Inquisitor grins.
Tristan yells to Junior.
You got room over on that side of the Demon-kisser wall for me?
The youth laughs. He attempts to Overrun Yellow.
I feel like this will be easy for some reason, divine favor, bless: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 19
Provokes AC 21
The youth looks over at Caliban; giving a thumbs up!

GM Losonti |

Greta, Junior, and Caliban take a heavy toll on their enemies, with Caliban's opponent left as the only traitor standing. This battle is all but over.
Yellow is unconscious, so you can just step over him if you want.

Selann Juris |

Selann holds his dagger out, sizing up the last remaining, standing enemy. "No Caliban. Not while and enemy stands right in front of me. I've used much of my magic for today, but I still know which end of this blade goes in to the enemy." He lunges at the mongrel man as he finishes his sentence.
Stabbing with my little dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
damage: 1d3 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (3) = 5
Or when the enemy is surrounded!

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Laughing at Selann's aggression Caliban relents, Well struck my friend, I was not questioning your bravery at all.

GM Losonti |

No, just me being slow.
Selann works a magic of a different sort, and the would-be assailant finds himself bleeding out on the floor, struck down by his target. While this room could never have been considered clean and tidy, the battle has made a complete mess of the place. Blood on the cave floor runs and pools together, flowing slowly toward the southeast corner of the room.
Combat over! Some of the traitors are still alive, but they are effectively defenseless for now. You'll want to decide what to do with them quickly, though. This whole fight, from when you first arrived at the gate, took about a minute.

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan immediately steps to the side of the next door. He looks to his companions for their say to open it.....

Greta Gyllenhår |

Greta’s hair fades and she begins taking slow, deep breaths to recover from the strain of using her magic. She holds up a hand to Tristan to signal him to wait a moment, then whispers, ”some of them are still breathing... do we have to kill them, or can we tie them up or something?”
Dropping bloodrage, ideally I’d like to wait 4 rounds before getting into combat again but if others don’t want to burn rounds off of bless or other buffs I’m fine with moving on as soon as we address the unconscious guys.

Selann Juris |

Selann moves to the closest unconscious body and puts his blade to it's throat. "Chief Sull indicated these are traitors, and allies to the demons. Unless anyone thinks we should drag prisoners around with us, possibly letting them aid our enemies.... Decide quick. The effect of my spell will end really soon. ??"
He glances at the others, but unless someone speaks (quickly) against it he slashes the throat of the enemy.
That still leaves two that are about to wake up.... Or perhaps three that could be dragged back to the city?

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan nods to Greta. The Inquisitor then unsheaths his cold-iron longsword. He performs the Rite of Death to traitors as he also sends them on the way to the Boneyard.
After all the evil foul traitors are dealt with; he calmly returns to his position by the next door.
4 Round ready...lol.

![]() |

Massielo says "As gruesome as that is, we might end up having to make harder decisions than this. We might as well start hardening our hearts now. Still, we could benefit from some interrogation."
He offers Greta some support until she finishes breathing heavily as he says "On a more practical note, my blessing spell will end soon. How about someone scouts ahead? Also, I believe I have been a little overeager and have spent all my magical power for the day. Just don't get hurt a lot."

Fred Junior |

Junior frowns as the rest of the mongrels are murdered in their sleep. He tries to remind himself that they would do the same or worse to us if the situation were reversed. And that they were cruel evil people, who reportedly deserved it.
He says to Massey, "I can heal anyone who gets injured. Just let me know." Is anyone still injured?

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban watches the grim work Tristan doles out without comment, merely a tight lipped inscrutable expression on his face. The shimmering shield fades from around the magus, I suppose we should carry onward and make haste to rid this nest of demonic worshipers so we can return to the star-touched lands above.
The elf casually leans down and wipes his longsword on the tunic of a fallen mongrelman. While there he checks the belt of the very decesased individual for any clues, he'll also give a cursory glance for any holy symbols or other useful items in the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

As Caliban searches the bodies, Massielo helps trying to find any worthwhile documents on them.
