I believe that Bertrem is our only caster currently, so if anyone has tricks it would be our druid! We don't have access to Good or Law unless Alchemist do, but don't think so.
Here are a few Primal spells that could help though.
Round 1: Heightened Charm to 2nd
Combat over!
But unlikely, so....
Round 2: Fear
Primal list isn't really too known to me, as I have yet to play any Primal caster.
EDIT: I did laugh when you said barreling in there, because of his 4th level feat... Barreling Charge...lol.

Aye. I do work in a line of business that ramps up during holiday seasons. Plus regular holiday stress. My apologies. Health is fine, this time, just very busy both on and off the clock, and then so drained I opt for more passive forms of recreation in what little spare time I have.
Things should calm down after xmas.
Regarding the tactics: Sudden Bolt was approved post-use and is 4d12 electrity damage - or 26 on average - but allows a reflex save.
Otherwise there's always good old Magic Missile, for 3d4+3, or about 10 damage fixed.
I don't believe I have very useful disables for this, but I should be able to relatively reliably damage it every round for a while.

Phai Kareen |

Hm, last time he took half damage for 18, this time he took only 13 damage, which is half minus 5. You mentioned some goes "through" him for the blinking.
Is that acting like some extra resistance or something? Just trying to understand what he's currently doing to reduce the damage taken, or if it was simply because he rolled much better? (I think it was only success or critical success, but I assume there's more...options, with special abilities/creatures/Feats/...
basically trying to figure out, IC, if it's time to switch to Magic Missiles instead as he is adapting to Electricity.

So.. I have been thinking things through and I think I am going to need to stop GMing this game. Really everything on the Forums. I know we have been on break for other's real life things, so this might seem like an odd time, but I have been thinking about it for awhile.
I should be starting a new job soon, and I am trying to remove some additional items in my life. This Forum has been tricky keep going and keeping myself coming back.
So what I would like to do is continue this AP till the end of the book. Giving us time to hopefully find a replacement GM to replace me. If people want. So if anyone wants to go on the hunt I will happy pass over the reigns. Either way once the book is done I will be signing off.
I hope everyone understands and isn't furious at me. I do hope to see yall around, and it has been great playing with each of you.
(I am pasting this into multiple games, but its 100% true for everyone)

Enara Etcheberry |

Oof, that makes the 3rd game Enara's been in that died.
That said, I appreciate the advance notice and the commitment to get us to the end of the book. Unfortunately, the last two GMs I've had just vanished. And I understand the want and need to focus on the important stuff, so no worries about hard feelings from me.
I would like to continue this game, though, so I'd like us to try and find a new GM. I think we're a pretty low maintenance group, so hopefully we'll be able to find someone willing to take up the cause. I'd offer to do it myself but I'm pretty tapped TBH.

I feel like I have read this type of post (of some form or another) in a third of my games this month. Weird.
I understand. And would wish you well. I would appreciate you ending this current Book.
I also will most likely volunteer to run the remaining Books, since I have ran Book 1 for my weekly home game; and we are currently in Book 6. We rotate Books between the six of us. So we always have 5 players and the GM changes each Book. It allows for less burn out on the part of both GM and players.
So, if the Table is interested, I shall endeavor to actually read the next Book. I only read Book 1.
As it happens, my PbP games has recently lessened due to one reason or another. So, I am willing to DM this one, since I already know what will happen (at least until Book 6...lol).

Thank you for the head's up DM Nex.
While I'm not a huge fan of PF2 yet, I would like to keep playing. Mosquito you are free to run the game if you want. I have no objections.

Enara Etcheberry |

Remember that minions only get 2 actions when you command them.

DM Nex |

100% Appreciate you Mosquito! I am glad you have experience with the AP and are willing to jump in. Thank you thank you thank you.
You are nearish to the end, I will see it through to that point, but you let me know when you would like to take over. If its sooner, that works for me.
I want to reiterate I enjoyed playing with all of you. I don't want any characters to die in the transition of this game. So thanks for keeping it alive.
I also think the way Mosquito is built it could easily be a GMPC haha.. Chaos goblin.

Enara Etcheberry |

it's always nice when a hail mary play actually works
Also, welcome to the party, Mosquito's Wife!

@Original message: Sadness.
@Mosquito taking over: Cautious yay?
@Mosquito wife goblin: Excellent. I would have posted that if you take over, Mosquito absolutely has to remain as GMPC or NPC with presence - that is an even better solution.
Also, I'm back. Just in case someone missed me in the past 2 weeks. You know. What do you mean you didn't even notice? Agh. Oh well. I'm still back. *blows raspberry*
(Also, I'm only checking in today, I'll catch up and post in gameplay tomorrow as able.)

Beryl Brighthammer |

Welcome back Phai!
No worries on stepping back GM, this is supposed to be fun so if you're finding it stressful I think you made the right choice. Good luck with the new job!
Thanks for picking up the game Mosquito!

Enara Etcheberry |

Nice.
Here's my suggestions on distributing the loot from the barghest: Healer's gloves to Bertrum (since he has the highest Medicine modifer), the wand of web to Phai, the fear gem to Mosquito (I don't think he currently has a talisman attached to his weapon?), and anyone who wants it can have the fan feather token.
I've updated the loot sheet but haven't assigned anything to anyone yet.
GM: That reminds me, you may want to transfer ownership of the Loot doc to Mosquito's player when you get a chance. That way you don't have to worry about it taking up space on your GDrive after you hand the game off.

Bertrum Half-Wild |

I thought Beryl has the Highest Medicine Mod? I barely heal anyone anyway. The main reason I even took Medicine was because Bertrum prefers to be self-sufficient if he can.
Beryl should have the gloves.
Wasn't there some magical armor? Bertrum could use that.
Crap...they are metal aren't they? Crap on a stick...
Never mind. I will go without for now.
What's going on with Spider lady? She OK now?

Beryl Brighthammer |

Beryl does still have the highest medicine modifier I think (as the medic dedication made her an expert). She also made the loot sheet :)
Given some downtime she might retrain into a bomber
She will gladly take the gloves!

Mosquito. |

I have been researching Alchemist for our next AP ( SoT) after my Friday group completes AoA. I was thinking while Bomber is the most effective; it also is the most class feat intensive. That being said, I am looking at adding Witch dedication for the Elemental Hex...lol.

Enara Etcheberry |

Whoops, you're right. I just skipped over you in my head because you use Crafting instead for all your Medicine checks.

Enara Etcheberry |

I'm ready to move on! I'll Avoid Notice, though as a reminder the Trap Finder feat gives me a free Perception check to find traps even if I'm not Searching (and even if they require you to actively be Searching).
My Stealth bonus is +12 and my Perception is +9 (+10 vs traps).

Enara Etcheberry |

Posting this in all my games, so I apologize if you've seen it already.
I'm going through a difficult period right now with my mental health, and it's making it hard for me to keep up with my games on here. I am not planning to quit or anything, but I just need a day or two to kind of unplug from stuff so I can get myself back to where I can be a more active contributor. In the meantime, I ask for your patience, and I will be back soon.

Mosquito. |

I broke both of my ankles this morning. We are visiting family on vacation. We were preparing to leave for home but that has since been delayed for some time now.
I do not have access to a computer. I am only able to use my phone for the foreseeable future.
Thank you.

Phai Kareen |

@Enara
No worries, Enara.
Self care first and foremost. You have all the patience you need from me, you do you, looking forward to welcoming you back when things are aligned more in your favor. Good luck for a fast recovery.
@Mosquito
How, Mosquito? Both? Did you do some "Hey y'all watch this"-kind of thing? I hope you will get better soon - despite my WTF reaction that I decided to add unfiltered (probably because what happened to you sounds so likely in-character...apologies) - I feel sorry for you. I have no experience with that but it sounds very inconvenient. Good luck to you too.

Mosquito. |

Thank you!
Ironic isn't it? I actually was attempting to find a cat cage in the garage attic and fell through the old access hatch that apparently was only covered over by a mat.
Not fun!
With both ankles broken I am stuck for quite a while (permanently) here in Florida. My wife plans to take a quick trip back to Michigan to collect our cats, computers and such. We are now moving to Florida...lol.
I will only have my phone for posting until that happens.

Bertrum Half-Wild |

Wow! That's a story for an Open Mic night! Geez-Louise.
Suddenly 'Moving to Florida' has a whole new meaning for me.
=)
I hope everyone feels better soon.

Enara Etcheberry |

That's awful, Mosquito! I'm sorry you're having to deal with that. :(
I really appreciate everyone's patience. I'm doing a lot better and I'm ready to get back into it. Might take a minute to catch up but I am here.

Apologize to the table. I am finding it increasingly more difficult to keep current with my games. Having only my phone to post with is really a drag. I am in process of re-procurring my computer once my wife returns from home.
This accident has really disrupted my daily life and nothing is simple or easy these days.
I say all this just to ask for your patience during this time. I am NOT dropping any of my games. I enjoy every one of them. I enjoy all my fellow players and DMs.
Thank you all for allowing me this platform for gaming!
Now if only I could find a Cleric around here....

Cautious. It's Florida.
I mean, it's not Texas(I am CERTAIN Kenneth Copeland has the Inflict series, not Cure) but you don't know what you'll get.
I'm from Texas and I wouldn't doubt it for a moment...

Enara Etcheberry |

Looks like it.

Mosquito. |

This is most unfortunate. I apologize to the Table but I have decided not to take this over as previously planned. I am not mentally in a place for such a commitment. This ankle situation has really caused a lot of turmoil.
I wish everyone good gaming! I will see you in another campaign in the future!

Enara Etcheberry |

No worries, Mosquito. Hope your ankle heals quickly!

Enara Etcheberry |

We could post a thread in Recruitment in hopes that a GM will pick it up? I've seen it happen before.
