Taarik would have bought 5 ‘teas of transferance’ for in total 200 go.
| GM Pudding |
Hi folks, just a quick heads-up. With Paizocon starting tomorrow my schedule is going to be very full until Sunday. I am going to try to keep things moving here as much as possible, but I might get a bit behind.
Taariik
|
Of course! Have fun!
| GM Pudding |
This next section, as you might expect for an asylum in a horror themed adventure, has some tropes that stigmatize mental illness. My intention is to run as written, but if this is an uncomfortable topic for anyone I'm happy to reskin things to more familiar and less "edgy" threats.
It also has a lot of rooms, doors and 5 foot wide corridors, so it would be helpful to establish a marching order. I'll propose the following as a suggestion:
* Drusilla
* Taariik
* Grunyak
* Angoldir
* Eldrin
Please post any amendments, then I can use whatever you pick to help set you up in corridors and the the like. Thanks!
Taariik
|
Horror and marching order is fine for me! ;-)
I would propose that we always check for traps at doors and all roll perception.
Then Angoldir can open doors or disable traps. Then we can use the marching order as seen above.
Grunyak
|
Fine by me. But be warned, Grunyak has a perception of +4.
Taariik
|
GM, I just wanted to say that I really like the rich scenery you are drawing. At the same time you are very well moderating the speed in this game as in pbp the pace is important: You are detailed but also pragmatic and are organizing the battles very well!
Kudos to you!
Taariik

:-)
| GM Pudding |
Just a few points I wanted to make to help you make decisions.
* Crove has a mistake in his abilities, he shouldn't have dimensional steps, but we have to run as written in PFS. I'm letting you know because I didn't want you to make erroneous conclusions based on your accurate knowledge of the rules. His range is quite a bit lower than 240 feet.
* There might be some table variation on whether you can teleport out of an entanglement, but my opinion is that you cannot; so wherever he went he's still stuck to the floor (for now at least).
* You might be able to hear him. I'm going to give everyone a free perception check to hear whatever he does on his next turn, but you could also spend a move action to make an active check on your turn if you'd like

Hi guys!
Just a question to you GM.
If we have Oleg, and know that the other Pathfinders are dead, then we have achieved our overall mission with the cultist and the big tentacle monster gone.
Do we have to fight the chaos beast?
Any effects if we do not fight it?
| GM Pudding |
You've completed your mission, you can leave now if you want, you won't miss any treasure or prestige or anything like that. Whether you want to do that and leave it to the crows is up to you. You could even ask the society to send a team, it is by no means a necessary part of the module. On the other hand if you'd like some bragging rights...
Taariik
|
Ha ha!
I would propose to leave the beast where it is!
I am more concerned with death or conditions to clear to be honest.
Eldrin Inarie
|
I am happy either way, though if we do want to clear the asylum Eldrin needs rest. He's out of magic so Its crossbow from now until he rests.
If we'd prefer to go report to the mayor and then back to the venture captain I'm fine with that too.
| GM Pudding |
I think that's two votes for heading up and one for staying, so unless Grunyak or Drusilla dissent I'll move us along and resolve meeting the mayor, rewards etc. It's getting late here though so I will aim to do that tomorrow
Grunyak
|
Sorry, I am also ready to go talk to the mayor. Grunyak has full hitpoints and a few 1st level spells remaining. That is not much.
Grunyak
|
Do you think we will be finished by Gameday start, 1 September? I think Grunyak may be my only hope for a game on myth weaver.
Just asking to make sure I don't mess others up holding an unlikely spot.
Very cool slide of The chaos beast eating grunyak!!!
Taariik
|
Ha ha!! ;-) I am fine with wrapping up the game with the mayor visit.
This is really a fun adventure. :-D
| GM Pudding |
If you decide to head back to Barstoi then we're done and I can get your chronicles immediately. If you'd like to venture back down into the basement of the asylum there is another encounter down there and while I would expect it to be fairly quick, I doubt we'd be done by Tuesday.
Taariik
|
I think we should end it with the highlight! :-)
That was a great battle at the end of a great game!!
Angoldir
|
Fair enough - it would be a bit of a letdown if someone ended up dying from some lesser monster after surviving the spawn's onslaught.
Grunyak
|
I am okay with stopping too. I would hate for a death or something like that when we are just mopping up. If gameday was not looming I would gladly venture back down though. I have had a fantastic time. Grunyak is now my favorite character to play thanks to you guys. If the chance arises to adventure again I would in a heart beat.
Taariik
|
I totally agree!! It was so much fun to play with you all!!!
AAAANDD: Thanks for everything GM. The description of the rain, the people and the atmosphere really made this a special adventure!!
You created a rich world!!
| GM Pudding |
Thanks Taariik. The author of the module specifically mentioned that I should call out the rain frequently, so I did!
The only thing left is a single derrow who Crove apparently met in the tunnels and brought back to study. Narratively at least returning triumphant at this point works much better than going down for a single CR4 encounter that has no bearing on the story. That and the chaos beast, but that's a very hard encounter. Worse than the spawn potentially.
With that in mind if anyone has a dayjob roll that you haven't already made, please roll it now. If anyone would me to adjudicate faction card goals I would be happy to do so.
Grunyak
|
Grunyak is too dedicated to Torag to do daily work anywhere else. Not enough skill points for that kind of stuff.
Thanks so much for running. It truly was an awesome experience. The roll playing in this group made the other face to face game I play in almost seem silly. Pacing was excellent also. We never spent two weeks opening a door. I have had groups like that. It seemed to flow nicely.
Eldrin Inarie
|
I second everything Taariik and Grunyak have said. It's been a fantastic game. Thank you GM for running the game and thank you everyone for playing.
I hope I can adventure with you all again.

I've sent the chronicles out now (via PM on here), hopefully including everything. Please let me know when you've downloaded it. There's a pretty great boon on there that gives you a permanent +1 to saves against fear and confusion. Bonuses to confusion saves are hard to come by in my experience!
I briefly sent out incorrect ones that had the OSP event on, having forgotten that this game wasn't eligible for the OSP. I corrected the chronicles less than an hour after sending the links, but if you did downloaded it while they said "Online support program" in the event field please re-download.
Thanks again everyone for playing. If you'd like to do any goodbyes, epilogues or weigh in whether the society sets up a lodge in Carrion Hill feel free, and I'll mark this game as inactive sometime next week. I had a great time and I'd love to play with you all again. After gameday I will run something else, but it might be second edition, I haven't decided yet.
