Afternoon All - seems my sojourn might be short lived. As quickly as the manic RL period has come, so too it has lulled a little. In tandem several other games here on boards I'm in have also slowed considerably in pace.

In short - think I could manage to continue with this saga, so if GMF's offer still holds I'll rejoin - either with immediate effect or at a suitable juncture.

Ahhh geez...

Fight or flight? The last time we fought one of these it was nearly a party wipe, one hit and we're either downed or nearly downed. Maybe if it's chained we could plink it from the door but... This is a reaaaal dicey one for us and an inevitability for the monster.

Back off and finish the sweep? We could at least try to bargain with other humans...

@GMF it looks like there's a few doors and halls we haven't explored is that accurate?

No shame in you running its a viable option, Play Kellan. This place appears massive, Bhru will keep going until he falls or finds light at the end of the tunnel.

We've also spotted a guard with the creature so they would sound the alarm, if we haven't made enough noise already. Bhru's low on hp, so going to take some luck but he is a soldier. Either come home with your shield, or on it ;)

@Kellan: that's true, but you were level 1 at the time.

There's a ton of this place left to explore, there's no way that you can clear it in one delve. The adventure doesn't really expect it, it's very much a cut off the head and body will die kind of thing.

As for slamming the door and withdrawing, that is always an option.

What do you guys think? See what she's offering and wait for an opportunity for vengeance on the "inside" so to speak, or do we politely ask to be shown the door and seek vengeance on Vanthus another time?

I'm just gonna ask cuz it keeps happening. Can I add guidance to these crucial rolls even though someone posts first? At the table I feel like we'd probably have a quick discussion about who'd pick the lock then buff the roll as we could but due to the vagaries of PbP I find I'm waiting to see what a character does then wanting to cast it. It's kind of a weird spell to spam too so I'm not sure how you'd rather I play it GMF. If I'd got in before Jon I could have offered it to the undecided lock picker I suppose but as often is the case I'm a bit late.

@Ukufa: You'll get plenty of millage out of underground. Jungle is useful for the middle bit of the campaign, so maybe pick it up as your next one.

Alright folks, looking for a bit of help in advancement.. and i think i may have missed some things along the way but it seems like a lot of people enjoy playing Siegebreaker 2 (fighter archetype) then up to Slayer 6 for sneak attack bonus's to the combat maneuvers.

I want to add shield slam into my combat maneuvers, from what i can tell i should be able to Bullrush -> Spiked Destroyer -> Overrun -> Shield Slam.

I'm pretty sure that i missed my second level feat, which i could take Improved Shield bash, but not entirely sure where i should head with my third level feat as I do not have 15 dex or two weapon fighting which would lead me into shield slam?..

So far below is what i was "thinking" of doing... (admittedly i am always lost with pathfinder so any help / perusing over my character from the vets would be very much appreciated, also what are ancestry feats, and did i miss this for level 1?)

Shield breakers replace their second level feat with:

Breaker Momentum (Ex)
At 2nd level, when a siegebreaker successfully bull rushes a foe, he can attempt an overrun combat maneuver check against that foe as a free action.

This ability replaces the feat gained at 2nd level.

As for third level feat, improved shield bash for when you get shield bash next level?

As for the magic chain shirt, Kellan can figure it out eventually. It's a +1 glamered chain shirt.

I'll keep a dose assuming the reason it was denoted as Xgp per dose was that it was easily splittable. So 250gp to the four of you if we aren't keeping any more.

I think we covered this one of our shopping days but that was ages ago so... @GMF is pretty much anything on the table in this spot? Maybe I should have posted that OOC here instead, was looking for some specialty material armor for future enhancements... Also, refresh me, do you have a standard trade in value?

@ Phineas: Couple of things. You probably want to pump your ride skill every level, since it helps to keep your mount alive. Also, Halflings have an alternate racial ability you probably would have wanted to swap in originally:

Outrider: Some halflings specialize in mounted combat. Halflings with this racial trait gain a +2 bonus on Handle Animal and Ride checks. This racial trait replaces sure-footed.

@Bhru: Armor spikes are 50gp. Also if you want to save some coin, half plate is only 600gp and only drops you 1 AC. Also Dwarven warshields are only 50gp, if you want to get that nonsense started.

@GMF: Thanks, Fang! I’ll swap for Outrider and going to throw another rank into Ride instead of Intimidate if that’s cool. Also I hope you don’t mind but I bought a riding saddle (figured it’s pretty important), and updated my char sheet accordingly.
