Salvius successfully knocks two of the stirges to the floor.
Two robed figures emerge from stalls in the barn. Their robes are dirty and they wear strange, elongated mosquito masks. Their hands grip filthy sickles.
They both converge on Salvius, swinging their blades.

Salvius, you can make a grapple check to get them off, even though you are not grappling, because they are. You can also attack them or cast spells on them. Their ACs are lowered because they are grappling. They cannot take Attacks of Opportunity so you don't need to cast defensively from the stirges (although you do from the two people in masks).

NOTE: Sayuki has Underhanded Trick:
A rogue who selects this talent gains Improved Dirty Trick as a bonus feat, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. At 6th level, she is treated as if she meets all the prerequisites for Greater Dirty Trick (although she must take the feat as normal). If she succeeds in giving her target the blinded condition, the target cannot remove the condition during the first round of blindness.
So if I'm interpreting that correctly, so long as that blinding hit, it stays for at least 1 turn!

With a thunk, Sayuki plants her kunai in the nearby wood and nocks an arrow.
”We’re sweet people who haven’t hurt any of you. We have healers among us, but no reason not to feather* you where you stand. Speak quickly, and we’ll save her. Refuse, and I’ll loose this arrow.”
*”feather” as a verb here is a term derived from the fletching on an arrow sticking out of someone—in other words, she’ll shoot them. I’ve confused a GM with that before, so figured I’d specify :D
| GM Elberion |
Sayuki, that sounds pretty intimidating but also pretty reasonable. Your choice: make either an intimidate check or a diplomacy check.
| GM Elberion |
The man pulls off his mask and looks up at you, it is *shock, horror* Saul Lupescu, the friendly village blacksmith. Tears stain his cheeks, "My girl! We thought being Queen would protect her," he sniffles some tear-snot away, "But it condemned her. A sacrifice must be made. The Gossamer King demands it. We cannot let down Ravenmoor. But, but we thought, maybe another sacrifice would do? Maybe an outsider? And then Shel came home and this one was just waiting to take her place."
He looks up, pleadingly, at Salvius, "You'll take her place, won't you? She's a sweet girl. You can save her. Take her place."

| GM Elberion |
”We owe our existence to our Lord Above: he was the true saviour of Ravenmoor that the first Kriegler discovered in her quest. Without our sacrifices to his grace, Ravenmoor would fall again to blight and devastation. A sacrifice must be made, for the good of the community: for Ravenmoor.”

Saul’s eyes light up at Salvius’ words, ” Oh, yes, the Chenowitz Place, we can present you there.” He stands up and waves you down, ” Just let me tie you up and we can present you for the ceremony.”
Salvius Delronge
|
Salvius walks down towards Shel, beckoning Sayuki to follow him. He smiles and says-"No need! You've done plenty of handiwork already. Allow my much more dexterous colleague."-as he presents his rope to Sayuki, winking.
As they head down the stairs, he will whisper-"We should play along, and find out who this Chenowitz Gossamer King is. They could be a dangerous conjurer, and might be behind the strange happenings in this here Ravenmoor. Perhaps behind Kyle's dissapearance. I am content to play the part of the bait, I think."-he says remaining nervous and jumpy.
Whilst Salvius might be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, inside his head he believes this beats trying to schmooze Shel.
Sayuki the Duplicitous
|
Sayuki raises an eyebrow, but shrugs. Sure.
She's just starting to tie when the rest arrive, most likely.
"Ah, hello, everyone. So, do you recall my mutterings that this town simply must have a dark secret? Human sacrifice. Shel was selected this year to be sacrificed to the Gossamer King, so Salvius here figured he'd do the noble thing and take her place. One virgin's as good as another, I suppose," she grins. "Care to come with us and bid ol' Salvy farewell in the next life?"
As she speaks, she "ties"-- but the knot is for show, and the actual ends of the rope are completely untied, and held in Salvius's fingers.
