Hi all and welcome to this table of SFS1-26, Truth of the Seeker for Outpost III! Looks like we have a small group this time around, and a few people that are undecided as to which character they're bringing. It looks like there's one high tier and one low tier character so far. Since it *is* a 4-man group, playing down for the single high level will likely be the safer option, though you guys can decide which combo you want to do.
Once you work out what character you'd like to bring, please provide the following:
1. Player Name for the chronicle
2. Character Name
3. Class and Level
4. SFS# (and dash)
5. Which faction will you be championing?
6. Day job Roll (if any)
7. Favorite Color of Skittermander
Also, if you have anything odd/unusual about your character that I should know, please say so now.
Go ahead and dot into gameplay as well when you're ready. I'll be dropping a initial scene setting tomorrow.

Oh wow. Ganondwarf. Love it :D

1. Player Name for the chronicle Sethran
2. Character Name Ki'ren'nura
3. Class and Level Soldier /3 Solarion /2
4. SFS# (and dash) 34762 -70
5. Which faction will you be championing? Second Seekers Jadnura
6. Day job Roll (if any)
7. Favorite Color of Skittermander Red!
I will be using a SS (Jadnura) Replay boon for this scenario - nothing weird per se but Ki'ren'nura was made with the Scoured Stars Veteran boon and is a Jadnura fan! Hence the Solarion armour...

1. Nomadical
2. Jaqweh Navar
3. Envoy (Steward Officer) 4
4. 151562-702
5. Wayfinders
6. None - forgoing to complete 5th check box on True Savior of Tasch
7. Favorite flavor color of Skittle-mander Skittermander - Pineapple Yellow
Two Envoys! This will be interesting!
Good to know:
Failing a Diplomacy check to change a creature’s attitude, the creature’s attitude worsens only if he fails the check by 10 or more. (I mention this one only to avoid having to retcon the opponent's reaction to a not-so-great roll given the time lag of PBP.)

6. Day job Roll (if any) - Profession - Musician: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31
7. Favorite Color of Skittermander - Blue
Ray is my 4th wall breaker. A bit modelled after Deadpool, Joker and Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time. He's a portal hopping half demon in a quest to kill his father, Asmodeus, and happened upon this reality on the wrong side of the godshield. Spent the better part of the year heading up strike squads for Jadnura until an a$$@&$* android mechanic and his sarcastic drone helped him out of a spot and liberated his squad.
He then opted for some downtime on a simple cargo run which ended up hanging out with the Azlanti for way too long. When he got back to the Pact, he thought, since he is always going to be in a pinch all the time in this reality, he might as well have the support of a society.
I'll be updating his profile and header here soon. Forgot this was on the site. Happy to be here.

Just in case anyone wants to switch characters, you're currently in what I would consider the DANGER ZONE - Five characters, barely in tier for high tier (average level 4.6). If you want to take on this challenge, go for it. But know that it could be very dangerous.

Rayraj you don't have the option to play down. That only happens if the APL is 4.5.
I made a mistake in recording Domak's levels. He is actually Operative 3 and Soldier 1, increasing the APL a bit more.
I do have one character with a death wish. He's still level 4. If we're not going to make any changes to lower our APL, then I'll probably go with him instead.
| GM Cellion |
No problem Dax. Looks like no one else is swapping to a low level character, so you guys will be up against high tier. Good luck!

Sorry My low tier character is in another game!

Ganondwarf, can you fix your character's profile and stat bar to show your details? Kind of like what the rest of the team has.
| GM Cellion |
I totally forgot about this until the last moment, so here's some BOON ROLLS in order of who chimed into the thread first! (19 or 20 wins)
Ganon: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Ki: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Jaqweh: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Ray: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Saryn: 1d20 ⇒ 20
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Congrats Saryn!
1d3 ⇒ 1 That's an "Season 1 Explorer" boon. I do need an email for you for that boon, so please either post or PM it to me so I can enter it into the reporting form.
I will be reporting the game tomorrow. Though we haven't quite hit the end, I'm going to guess based on the trajectory that you guys are going to pull through a victory. Hopefully that remains the case and I don't have to issue a correction... chronicles will be after we wrap up, which should be in the next few days at this rate.

If we're thinking about trying to trigger the crystal again, how about this for a plan:
Ganon lures it close, everyone stays out of range, and Jaqweh rushes in and triggers it as the last action in the round.
It's flat-footed now, so Ganon can move back in without triggering an AoO.
Saryn has already acted and is still in range of the gem, so he'd drop also if we tried it this round.
Otherwise we try next round, but Ray might need to keep it flat-footed again depending on people's positioning.
The reason I'm offering to have Jaqweh do this is that admittedly, he's the least effective member. He's fairly consistently landing the shaken debuff, but that's about all he can do. He has enough Resolve to stave off death, and no one needs to waste a serum or an action to heal him if the hantu survives a second gem-attack. And as prissy as he might seem, it's not entirely out of character for him as an Steward to take one for the team.
Thoughts?

Sounds a good plan to me for next round depending on the monster's actions ^^

If it survives one hit from the crystal, the only tactic remaining will be to trigger it again since most fighters will be down. So the dying will potentially be hit again while dying.
Lap would be safer and would knock out fewer people, but we can do that since that's what people want.
| GM Cellion |
So we just ended a 19 round combat, by my count. Kudos to everyone for keeping the posting pace high. There'll be a bit more here to resolve at the end, and I expect to get chronicles together in a couple of days.
Saryn, IIRC that boon still requires you to pay a discounted fame cost for raise dead. Plus you'd need to pay to have the permanent negative levels removed. Could you post your total fame expenditures so I can incorporate them into the chronicle?
Ganondwarf Hammerbammer
|
Yeah, this scenario was Bonekeep difficult. 2nd fight is against something immune to most common damage type. 3rd fight is against something that we have a 20-25% chance to hit, with crit immunities, damage reduction, and stat damaging capabilities. If we disarmed that trap, it would have been retreat or TPK.

Thanks all! That was nailbiting at the end there! Cheers GM for running so well and to the rest of you for great interactions. Hope to catch you all soon!
| GM Cellion |
I've never had a character die and be brought back in a Society game. How much, if any, of the rewards do I get?
To the best of my understanding after reading through the Society Guide and through some forum discussion, you'll get all the same rewards as the rest of the party since your character ended the session alive and you participated in all of the encounters.

Probably the most intense fight I've had in society and most certainly the first death. Sorry Saryn, glad you get resurrected though.
Thank you Cellion. By far the most fun game I've had in Outpost III.
And a tune for you all to go out on by your new favorite tiefling:
Day Job-Musician: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
Ki’ren’nura
|
Oh yes! Ki will compose a poem for the occasion;
Profession Poem: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
| GM Cellion |
Alrighty! Glad to hear you folks had fun. Hope some of you managed to also get signed up for some games in the online PaizoCon coming up in a few days.
You'll find your chronicles for this game at the following: LINK FOR CHRONICLES
If there's any issues, let me know. I'll be closing up this game's thread in a few days, but you can always PM me after that.

Looks Good, thanks ^^
