Auto pass stealth trick attack, it is flat footed to me. If I hit I will make it flat footed to everyone

I didn't. I forgot to delete the word 'merciful' when i copied and pasted from my botting spoiler.

Dusty swims to a more advantageous spot, somersaults in the water, and fires at the mummymaw!
Full action move to square and trick attack vs. the last mummy. Automatic trick vs CR 12 or lower. Trailblazer fusion.
Attack vs EAC (flat-footed, coordinated shot): 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 31

With everyone's combined attacks, the final morlammy falls!
Out of combat!
If you go look at the equipment
DC 25
[spoiler=Culture, Engineering, or Mysticism]
DC 33
You recognize that the equipment is mi-go in origin. It is very rare and therefore extremely valuable, worth 8,000 credits.
If you go look at the double doors
inscribed on it, keeping the door locked. Mysticism to disable the runes or Athletics to break it down.
Compucast
|
Engineering: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Compucast looks at the equipment, but shakes his head. "No idea what this is for."
Approaching the doors he flinches. "Another rune..." says the techomancer, a shiver going down his back as he remembers the creeping paralysis that almost claimed him earlier.
"You are better at these than me.." he says to Mu, offering his help.
Auto aid with mysticism if Mu wants to try it.
Atticus Finch

Atticus has a look over the equipment, with the clinical eye of smeone evealuating the likely resale value.
Engineering: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37
Add 4 if it is to recall knowledge
Well, this is digusting. This is mi-go equipment, probably used to remove the morlmaws brains. Its valuable stuff, but I shudder to think just who would want to actually buy it. Still, I suppose there is a market for everything, even walrus brain removal gear.
Atticus also has a look at the door, Yep, this is your bag Mu, happy to help as well
Mysticism to aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Success
Just keep that damn camera crew off me, my work benefits from a degree of annonymity.
| Bluuuuu |
So we have Morlamaws worshipping or being coerced by a Great Old One Bluuuuu muses as he inspects the fallen mummies.
Medicine: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
This crevasse is rising up right now. And reacting to Atticus. Yet more creature have been harvesting brains.
So not good. Not good is how I am feeling right now.

]Oh, absolutely!
Mu stares at the door's runes. "Door, you gonna open or WHAT?!"
| GM Kate |
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The door opens!
The surface of the island is jagged and rough, and basalt columns have fallen, unable to support their own weight out of the water. A single clearing opens up to reveal a group of morlamaws in black robes chanting in a strange tongue. A large portal carved of basalt stands open in the middle of the group of chanting figures. Occasionally, the tip of a greenish-brown tentacle emerges from the portal and then retracts. This area is out of the water and completely dry.
One morlamaw, clearly the leader, yells out, "You're too late! We've already opened the portal! The Eternal Source has been here before and will come again! Then everyone will see how important Arniselle is!"
You can have a moment to talk to him if you want, but if anyone moves forward, they'll attack.
Also, I want to be totally clear: this is not an avatar. This is not a projection. That is actual Ghatanothoa. This is a portal to a Great Old One who is almost free. The reporting conditions for this scenario literally include the possibility that every living thing on Arniselle dies.
So, you know, good luck!
Magical Mu
|
Mu's not in the mood to negotiate. "They want to end the planet? I want to end them!" The Nuar looks across the path, realizing that those morlamaws are definitely within range of her 140 foot charge lane. "Anyone want to say anything before I apply a pike to their faces?"
Merciful Advanced Pike: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Piercing Damage: 2d8 + 15 ⇒ (2, 8) + 15 = 25

Dusty stands, mouth agape, for a moment. "By all that is holy..." Seeing Mu pawing at the dirt and fully realizing what happens if that portal remains open, the halfling snaps back to reality. "Do or die, I guess. I've got your six, Mu. Let's go tell Ghatanothoa that Arniselle isn't open for business today."
Happy to jump into battle.
Dusty will full action trick attack to run 50 feet toward the morlamaws while drawing his semi-auto pistol. Auto trick vs. CR 12 or lower. Targetting blue unless the party focuses fire on the leader, then targeting him instead.
Attack vs. KAC (flat-footed): 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 2 = 19

That is the wrong type of important! Bluuuuu tries to yell at them, but the morlamaws are too far away for his telepathy to reach. As he readies to stop them, he worriedly asks the others: Please tell me that Datch is not mining basalt for a similar purpose...
"Wheeler"

Wheeler sighs exasperation.
Can we just...let them summon their stupid god and annihilate themselves. It really seems sort of... inevitable with these dumb walruses.
Wheeler whispers to junior This is what we call a negotiation kiddo
Wheeler then calls out Hey is that thing gonna just wreak havoc on Arniselle or can he travel through the Drift? Because if the former, I am happy enough to leave you to it if you can tell us about what Datch was doing here.

As the morlamaws turn to face you, it's clear that the two nearest the portal are shriveled up into mummies!
Wheeler shoots a mighty blast at two of the cultists!
Dusty races up and takes a tricky shot on the blue cultist, taking them down!
Point of order: you can't draw your weapon during a trick attack, but there's no reason you couldn't have started the combat with your weapon in hand so I'll let it stand.
Mu paws a hoof against the ground and then takes off sprinting, piercing Purple on a pike!
Atticus then flies up to the cliff and takes a shot at Green, taking them down! Taking the liberty of redirecting the attack, since Blue is down already.
