"Never seen anything like them before."
Where are they in relation to us when we first see them? How much warning are we getting that they are there? Is it far enough away that if we want to we could make an attempt to avoid them? Are they carrying weapons. Do they look like traveling seekers or determinedly searching for something? Do they notice us? Sorry for the barrage of questions there were just a lot of variables and not much detail to react to. If we just climbed a hill and they are 30 feet a head that's a big difference than. Way off in the distance you see someone.

Yes, this is easier if you had a map. They are about 20 feet away, and yes they are searching for something. You don't notice any weapons on them. The robes cleverly disguise the weapons. They notice you and are coming towards you. I'll post a map as soon as I can.
"Maddok, will you carry my pack again today?" inquires the brown-haired Red Robe. It is perhaps this that keeps her distracted, glancing towards the 'seekers' as she hefts the pack up for the minotaur to sling (if he's going to).

Maddok grunts in confirmation and slouches slightly to give Peregrine access to the open spot on his harness where the pack was tied previously. He seems to hardly recognize the added weight.

Bander notes the determination in the steps of the creatures, "Lets pray they aren't pirates then." He responds to Slam's hope. He shifts back toward the center of the group moving often between people.
Its not likely to be a situation that will make me invisible but Bander is intentionally looking to get lost in the shuffle of the group.

That's a terrible roll. They notice you. And they notice the carefully wrapped item in Slam's possession. "Wait. Is that a staff?"
"Sure is," Kali says brightly as she twirls her quarterstaff with a flourish and holds it out proudly to show it off. "It's a nice sturdy one of ash. Do you want to have a look?"
I'm assuming it's bluff to be disarmingly charming?
Bluff:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5Oh boy, not that I'm going to be doing much with that roll. Yeesh.
"Oh? I'm afraid that you won't find anything that fancy here," Kali says as she moves to put herself between the strange seekers and Slam. "I mean look at us? Why would we have anything like that while heading north? It'd just get broken anyway. Have you tried any ruins? I hear that there's a lot of stuff like that to be found in old ruins and dungeons if you can keep the ghosties from gettin' ya!"

Slam said "I asked you nicely once. Now I'm telling you to leave." to drive home his point, he put his hand on the handle to his sword but did not draw it.
From near the back of the group, Peregrine looks alternately amused and agahst at the back-and-forth 'no, I'm gonna be the one in danger!' interplay between Slam and Kalisuel; she would not be surprised if one of them got to trying to push the other one away from the potential threat these 'seekers' represent.
She herself starts to shift towards the potential threat, in part to see if she can't get a clear target on the majority of what Kali had termed 'scaly-skinned, golden-eyed Nerakese' without intersecting her own people ...

If Bander was hidden in the crowd before he certainly was not now as he lets loose sudden abrupt chuckle, "Did you just try to threat an ogre with getting rough?" He holds his stomach and laughs even heartier. "Look I get it you are upset about the whole skin condition thing you have going," He motions to the creatures whole person. "with the scales. But throwing your life away failing, miserably by the way, at highway banditry just seems a step too desperate."

Slam said nothing, but instead drew his blade while physically moving Kali behind him.
Missed this post, so slight retcon.
"Here, take a loOOF!" Kali's toss to the speaking "seeker" is way off as she's shoved back by Slam's massive hand. She regains her balance after a few steps and sees that the fight was probably going to happen no matter what. She sighs and draws her greatsword. The fight seemed unavoidable at this point.
Are they attacking, or is this still a stand off? Also, if we're going into combat, it's often quicker if you just go ahead and roll everyone's initiatives.

Since no one had anything to say while in this situation, I ask you to roll initiative for the first round of combat.
Remember, you post your turn in combat as to exactly what you're going to do. Initiative is just for show.
Round 1
Not sure what you mean?
Are you saying that the Draconians have nothing to say? Because most of us said things trying to resolve the situation. Does this mean they are approaching a looking mean? Does it mean they are obviously attacking?

I was going to ask, based on this, that you swap the positions of Thalasi and I, but with a Move action I can get to my angle anyhow, so no problem. ;) I presume the squares are supposed to be the standard 5', yes? Just as an FYI, Slam should be 10' square.
Having been anticipating the violence which, with the 'scaly-skinned, golden-eyed Nerakese' pushing aside robes to draw weapons, now seems to be here, Peregrine moves swiftly forward and off to one side, slipping between her erstwhile compatriots and chanting the language of magic as she does so. Reaching her target location, she gives a swift glance at the beings, then unfurls her hands.
Countless spheres of white burst from the cone-like opening she makes with her hands, each one spitting out at high speed as soon as it's formed in order to make way for the next one to coalesce. Snowballs -- or perhaps a better term would be 'iceballs', like those made by particularly nasty children, wrapping snow around a core chunk of the denser frozen water -- slam into the foes again and again, a veritable flurry.
Initiative, Movement, Spellcasting and Spell Placement:
Movement: From her current (unchanged) position, 30' of movement will take her to row A (or 1), column 8 -- one square in advance of Slam's current position, but in the top row.
Spellcasting and Spell Placement: The spell is flurry of snowballs, which projects a 30' cone-shaped burst of snowballs that deal 4d6 damage to all within the area. Putting the point-of-origin at the lower-right-hand corner of the square (A-8, where it meets with B-9), the burst will go straight down and to the right. 30' means it'll strike all of the foe but the two furthest from her -- those at D-13 and E-14.
Thalasi's right -- draconians do have spell resistance. For baaz, apparently it's 8 + class level.
Not sure if I should roll once or six times, so I'll do six. ;)
vs SR #1:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 vs SR #2:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 vs SR #3:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 vs SR #4:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 vs SR #5:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 vs SR #6:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
So #2 definitely ignores the spell, and #4 and #6 very likely do as well. #1 might ignore it (if he's level 5), #3 (who saved for half) is probably affected, and #5 is likely affected and failed to save too. :P Ah, well, them's the ropes!!
