That's too bad. I think as long as we're consistent with checking in at some point every day, the game will move along.

It's a little frustrating to start a game, then you all end up waiting on someone who hasn't posted in 2 1/2 weeks. (True story.)

I’ve been doing PbP for a few years now. The best way to deal with that is to bot the player. 2 days for combat, more for out of combat. That way the game doesn’t just die off.

We can always try to get as many actions in as possible in the Roll20 system.

I am Eastern time zone of the US as well. But I often post around 6AM every day before going to work. That would be around 9PM for Chillblame.
Sometimes I will post when I get home from work as well, but that would likely not work for Chillblame. Weekends are hit and miss for me, but Saturdays are often best.

My ftf campaigns have been spotty of late about once a month. :( So, I have more time for the pbp.

I'm actually a huge fan of pbp, and I've been at it for a bit more than 20 years now! Seen a lot of slowdowns where RL just gets in the way, and it's hit me too from time to time. I think patience is the prime virtue of any pbp player with communication being a close second!

I agree that botting a player is the best way to go, though as a GM I really hate to do it myself. Fighter types are easy to bot, but I hate 'playing against myself' for one thing, and I also dislike botting spellcasters. Do you use their best spells? Is your knowledge of the enemy influencing your decision? I've actually about reached a point where I'm asking other players to 'bot' absent players. I've only recently decided to institute this idea, so I'll let you all know how it goes. And if any of you have experience with this idea (I can't be the first to have thought of it!), please let me know how it went.

I only mentioned the idea of the occasional online get together since combat often bogs things down and it's kinda fun to see those interactions scoot by in minutes instead of days when folks find their schedules can jive with each other for an hour or two. :) Obviously if not everyone can join in it wouldn't work out - but it's pretty cool when it does!

Is there a way to get labels on the map for the monsters? Also, the other party members? I have a label for Mazrak and the Fire Elementals.

Sorry Chill, no worries about taking back the hit on Whisper. I'm the one that missed the Mage Armor. I thought I had everything noted in my signature, but I whiffed on that buff.

We should be able to kill all the orcs, since you guys can run faster than the dire boars. Just mopping up mooks.

What to do with the prisoners is the bigger question. It looks like they don't have a home to return to, and sending them all the way to Istivin unprotected puts them in danger. We can hope they are met by a patrol, but they might run into some orcs (or worse) first.

Hi folks, I'm FINALLY back, sorry for the long delay. I had a combination of a writing deadline, a new house fiasco, and then my wife and I had our car totaled (while we were in it). We're thankfully both fine, but I've been dealing with the insurance stuff, plus trying to find a new car. I could have been more in touch, and I'm sorry for that, but things have calmed down again.

To help bolster our sense of community and solidarity, I'd like to ask a few questions, if I may. Who in this game is isolated in their home and who is still working and where do you live?

I'll go first, I am currently unemployed so I am staying at home with my son but my wife is still working, and we live in Oregon.

Work for the government in DC. Not telework eligible, and am waiting for approval. In the meantime they expect me to spend 3 hours a day on a train to come to work. Luckily my week long national guard duty just got cancelled.
