I got a little confused. Why was Ian talking about La Vierge before he got a phone call asking him to investigate La Vierge?

Okay. Well, Ariana is talking to him now. I guess when she asks him a question, he should make some kind Profession (Lawyer) check to find out the information she is seeking.

GM, I have a question regarding equipment (I know I've postponed it since forever, but now that we've completed the prologue and are starting to really get into the game, I'm trying to wrap it up before stuff really becomes serious).
Regarding starting gold, with a +0 career bonus and a +0 Charisma bonus, that would leave Valeria's resources as 3,500 x2 x2, so 14,000 dollars, is that correct?
I've also started to look around for what could be Valeria's Bonded Weapon. As an occultist, she can only wield Simple Weapons, but I don't really know what that would entail in a modern-set campaign.
I've thought about a self-defence Baton as a substitute for a club or a staff, like this one . What do you think?

For starting wealth, what I suggested was "Take the Tier 1 Most PCs Start Here, make adjustments for any traits or careers, add you Charisma bonus, and take the "Base Salary." Double that amount; this is Maine and someone is going to need a vehicle. The car will probably be used and possibly threatening to break down if you go to stingy on it."
As for simple weapons, it doesn't include firearms, so the list is probably very similar to the list for simple weapons in Pathfinder.
As for the baton, was it available in 1983? I'm not going to say you won't need weapons, but, if you need to go shopping for weapons, Okham has hardware stores.

Looks like (according to a quick google search) that the collapsible baton was created in 1976. Looks like they're legal to carry in Maine too, as of right now.

She could always have the prototype of the first collapsible baton; that would have some historical significance.

It is the holiday season, so I know things slow down considerably around this time of year for most people, so that's probably part of the problem.
We might want to see who all is still interested (I am) and go from there.

I'm afraid this PbP crashed on take-off and I'll take the blame for it. I guess I made it too confusing.
When a game gets so slow that people are only posting once a week, you can't build a story so I don't see this going anywhere.
