Lorenzo glances around the chamber before asking a clarifying question, "My Prince, are you proposing a single Justicar to do the bidding of the entire council? As Lord Petradon has said, the council can not be in more than one place at a time, neither could such a representative. I thought the intention was for each councilor to appoint a representative of their own choosing to serve in such a role. Admittedly, based on what I have seen of the behavior of our kind in my brief existence, even those appointed may have to gather representatives of their own, particularly if Princes who are not here are to fall under the jurisdiction of this body."
Lorenzo quietly sits back down waiting to be chastised for his interruption, thinking to himself, Now you have gone and done it, Lorenzo, they will think you seek such a position, although nothing could be further from the truth...it would take too much time away from my studies...

You drag the wounded man into a dark space between buildings gruffly reassuring him, your eyes gleaming with hunger. He is too weak or wounded to resist and soon enough he resists no more!
You rear back, belly full of the dead man's blood and stare in horror at your first kill...
The innkeeper feels something in side of him , the beast, roar triumphantly and then recede, in it's wake, it's not just the man who died but something else inside of him. Not dead, but diminished.
He was already dy... but the rationalization just won't form, not sincerely. The man might not have died anyway. No, he died because a vampire was here.
Nothing more, nothing less. The normally passionate Toreador feels rather empty. He makes sure the bite wound is sealed and that he is.. presentable. There was no struggle on his end so he should not be caked in blood save perhaps the lips and that is easily cleared.

As Michele exits the hatch Alessandro speaks to the Hunter at the end of the building. He turns, you both recognize him as one of Sergei's men that was with him when you met the fanatic Hunter but you do not remember his name.
He looks aghast, "Thought I heard something down there. I am no Knight. If you are here standing against Sergei than you stand for Night Fiends".
He places his loaded crossbow on the roof and draws his sword.

You glance up at the Gondola to see who the hell has decided to come from nowhere to interfere and you see the being, the Fiend, Talisman.
Geoffroi reloads his crossbow, but he puts a warning hand to Baldemar
“I think it might be best to hold our bolts. There is much occurring, and I fear our bolts are ineffective at this range. Let us prepare for any surprises and shift our position “

Vitaliano listened to the arguments and such and even nodded at the other childe's musings. He paused though, if clans were allowed to appoint their own Justicars and such eventually it might lead to falling out all over again.
Vitaliano spoke up "Each Clan having their own Justicars seems fine enough but perhaps requiring the a system of check and balances. Requiring perhaps two other clans agree that a Justicar is needed to interfere in a situation or perhaps having a different Clan's justicar handle the problem of the Clan in question. This would allow for some future garnering of unity. Besides, I imagine there are some powers that each Clan does not possess that would benefit in taking down a rogue member of ones own clan." he said musing aloud.

"If the local Nosferatu do work with the prince, and closely so, then certainly that would give you some leverage - no matter what he decides to believe about your circumstances or your representative.", he walks a few steps, letting the words sink in: "Unless, of course, you mean to suggest that Narses fails to see the full value of the service you provide to him, offering too little compensation in the way of support."
Franz looked around, trying to determine where they were going, and which route they would take.
"Of course, all of our kind are opportunistic, to some degree. May have to do with our need for sustenance. So I am intrigued - alas, there is also need for caution. Direct opposition has repercussions and showing one's hand gifts initiative to the other players. What is it that you would have me do if such an alliance were to be formed? And, perhaps even more importantly, what are you willing to offer to Clan Ventrue in return?"
Not pausing long enough for Ferdinand to begin speaking, Franz adds:"And let us not forget that based on political maneuvering, Narses may also deduce that something is going on between us - if he does understand the value of the information you bring him, that means I'll have to face his scrutiny, too - he may not like others meddling with something he considers his privilege."

Emboldened by all of you speaking out, Helene's Childe speaks, "I agree that each Clan should have its own Justicar but picked by each member of the Inner Circle themselves".
The Gangrel Neonate likewise speaks, "I assume that each Inner Circle Member already has someone in mind. Perhaps a name familiar to those of us here, the defeated may have departed but they have a role to play nonetheless. Having them be involved in the administration of this body gives them influence and keeps them allied with the cause instead of acting against it and perhaps seeking to form a rival council".
Lord Radek turns to Onfroi, "I believe it is premature to assign to a Justicar further aides. That would increase their power over that of Councilors and perhaps give these Justicars ideas about overthrowing those who assigned them to their positions in the first place. Still, the Justicars assigned must be of a martial power that gives the local Prince pause to cross them".
Lord Benne shakes his head at Helene's Childe, "Nominated by the Clan head but voted on by the Council. It should be the Council that decides who will enforce the rules, not individual Councilors!"
Lord Criatas and Lord Bajazet peer at one another each considering what the other just stated both it seems considering further responses but neither speaking yet.

The Gondola lands and Talisman steps up onto the cobblestoned streets. Sergei backs up a few steps staring warily at the newcomer, "Another Fiend! This will be my most successful hunt yet".
Talisman shakes his head, "No. I bring a gift.
Sadir. I know you are here. Show Sergei our gift..."
From nowhere appears a young beautiful woman looking worse for wear. She streaks at Sergei, "Brother!"
Sergei nearly drops his sword in disbelief, "Sister!" She embraces him but he keeps his eyes focused on the two Fiends.
Talisman smiles, "Reunited. Heartwarming.
And now you know the truth if your heritage as well. All that too place prepares you for this moment!"
Sergei eyes Talisman warily. "What are you babbling about Fiend!"
"You and your sister, were born to be with me. Your Sister is an old soul as are you. It has taken me multiple Millenia to bring you both together but here you are. Two of my three greatest loves in one place. With you both by my side, he who remains shall return to us and we shall rule once more the Long Night".
A voice shouts out unseen from the Courtyard, "Knights. Hunters. Shoot the woman, she must not live through this night as a Mortal or Otherwise!"
Both Talisman and Sergei shout out in unison, "NO!!"
Shots are not fired from the other two buildings, Baldemar looks to you Geoffroi, "I will not fire on a helpless woman at the behest of a disembodied voice".

You both continue your quick journey to the Elysium, soon enough you stand near a Gondola with no boatman. The rain and winds die down, finally. The din of combat and the lights of a few fires light the city.
Ferdinand speaks, "Leverage in local politics yes. IN what will soon be the politics of this Camarilla, no.
His compensation is fair, in comparison to what most Princes offer our Clan but as you say, we are all opportunistic. That means wanting more.
Remember, we do not ask you to act against Narses but instead against our own Clan Representative. Narses can take from that, what he will but it should have no direct impact on Clan Ventrue and even if it does, what other Clan will be as influential as your Clan outside of the Lasombra?
I daresay none.
What we offer is what our Clan has in ample supply, information that only we are privy to due to our own unique abilities".

You head away from the Mortals and move into the streets cleaning the blood off of your face though not off of your clothes. As you try to get back to your Inn, you see that blood on your clothes will not betray anything. There are plenty of stragglers from the battle wandering away!
Many are wounded others have blood which is likely not theirs on their clothing. It appears the battle has been won by the Doge's forces and those Houses loyal to him.
Most ignore you as they stream away to seek shelter or perhaps head home. Engorged on blood, you have regained control once more.
Mounted on horseback and passing you are seven Knights, wearing tabards of a Holy Order you do not recognize. They are not bloody so it is clear that they were not in the fight.

Geoffroi scans the area but just cannot find the speaker. He turns to Baldemar and whispers
“I cannot find the speaker. I fear we have embroiled ourselves in a fight whose combatants we are truly unaware of. At this point I am going to wait and try to protect Sergei and his sister. He may not be the purest of men, but we know he is at least a man”

"You see, and therein lays the problem I see. I understand the value of information. But that value is directly related to the amount of people having access to it."
Looking around, he wonders about the weather for a moment, before checking the Gondola: "So if the information you offer would be exclusive, that would no doubt irritate Narses. If you give him the same information as me, then it's value diminishes as he can freely share it with others as part of a bargain to his advantage."
He turns back to Ferdinand, looking directly at the Nosferatu, trying to pierce the veil: "Now, then, what is equally valuable to information is the ability to deny others access to it. To control it. I would wish to learn what you report about me and mine, before you do, and be allowed to demand slight alterations of it where reasonably possible."
He thinks for a moment, then adds:"And if our deal works out the way you imagined, if I am a valued ally to you, and you wish to continue our cooperation after a month has passed, then I would like to learn to deny information to others, the way you do. To hide from mundane sight. What say you, Ferdinand of the Nosferatu?"

Friend Baldemar, train your bolt upon these men in conversation with Wilhelm. Should they move to attack him shoot, but not beforehand. We cannot tell what transpires there. I am going to keep mine trained about us. We have an unknown player unrevealed to us exhorting us to kill a defenseless woman, and I fear he is not the only dagger in the dark. I will signal if I see something, pray you do the same if those men attack Wilhelm. Remember once you shoot we must move. Head to your right a dozen paces crouched down. Do not give our enemies a good target.”

Meanwhile, the drama below continues to unfold.
When no bolts are forthcoming, Talisman strides forward to Sergei and Katriana seemingly unfazed by the fact that Sergei bares naked steel only feet away from him.
"You now know the truth of your lineage Sergei Volkov.
It is I who arranged this.
It is who truly Love your sister and it is I who shall bring you both forth into a new world.
You can let go of your hate now Antonius".
Sergei is baffled, "My name is not Antonius, Fiend!" Despite his screaming protest he does not attack.
Petrankov interjects, "If my work is done here, I will take my leave now".
"No!!!" screams Sergei.
Talisman responds, "My friend. Your gambit has failed, cloak Milov and I shall overlook your momentary lapse in judgment. Fail to do so and our long friendship will truly be over". It is not clear who the hell Talisman is speaking to as he has his eyes locked on Sergei.
Katriana stands next to her brother, holding him.
Then Francois interjects, "You cannot leave Petrankov, I want what is coming to me!"
Sergei then turns to him, "What the hell is that supposed to mean Frenchman?!"

As the three of you ascend a roof, you see the city below is in chaos. Horseback riders move to and fro through the city. Skirmishes between factions, the origins of which none of you are familiar enough with the politics of the city to understand, spread out.
The Gangrel chuckles, "What Kindred are these? You babble nonsense!
Come Durdona, we have work to do, I know not this Neonate but I have never seen him before, have you? How can he be a messenger from the Prince!?"
Durdona looks dubiously at both of you...

Alessandro scans the plaza as he speaks.
There are three beings down there that can topple a city, each. There is nothing to be done, tonight. This is an internal battle of an e-ternal war.
There are three of us here and only you, the third is female and downstairs. If we wished you dead... You get my meaning. Alessandro sheathes his blade.
Let's go down together and see what this is all about. I would suggest you allow the siblings to make up their own mind. The history there may be richer than any knows.

"Oh, I do not want you to betray the prince at all. What I mean is that some details may be omitted because they are not important. Or something may have seemed differently than it actually was, from whatever angle you managed to look at it. But I think we will find a compromise there - aside from the information provided to me, I am mostly asking that any reports you make are...as favorable for me as you can reasonably present them."
On the last part, Franz seems thoughtful: "Despite the fact that you came to me asking for something, I would consider such - because I hope for a long-time cooperation between our clans. Alas, as you certainly know, I am a fledgling myself. And, sadly, of way lower generation than many others here. I am aware of the discipline you speak of, but it is something I should first master myself, before considering teaching others. I offered you a chance to evaluate our relationship for a month to decide if it is worthy to teach me such an ability. I ask that you extend the same courtesy and give me time to master and understand my own abilities before considering such. I would certainly like to learn your ability in greater depth, so we can always re-evaluate our deal later, including the shifting political landscape - who knows what kind of influence I may have in a month or two, or how things work out with your representative. I may proof more useful than you hoped, or I may need other bargaining chips to convince you to uphold our deal.", he shrugs.

I will remain up here, crossbow in hand. Should one of them strike at Sergei, I shall fire upon them.
Go down there if you feel you should or you must".
He turns around, grabs his crossbow and looks down at the action unfolding.

You look down.
Baldemar speaks to you, "Wilhem has sheathed his sword and turnd his back to those upon the roof. Still, I will keep watch to ensure they do not stab him in the back".

Francois looks at Sergei wild eyed, "Who cares what you think now Volkov. I did what I did for me! You arrogant selfish bastard. Your twisted love for your sister sicken me.
You place us all in harms way for your own vendetta and nothing more. User. Liar!" He is screaming at Volkov.
Petrankov chuckles, "It is for Talisman to reward you, not me Mortal. I need no assistance to take my leave". The Gangrel suddenly dissipates into a fine mist!
Francois runs into the mist, "We had a bargain, we..."
Talisman turns to him and he begins to clutch his head and whimper in agony. He falls to his knees and then appears to pass out. Talisman then turns back to Sergei and Katriana.
"It was I who inserted Francois into your band. He brought you here to me. Here where I would be under much less scrutiny than I was in Paris.
This is the moment that I have been looking forward to. Come Antonius. Bring Ma-Ri. Together we shall become a new sanguineous family.
Your origins as a Hunter were born of misunderstanding. Join me and we can put the past behind us and move towards a bright new tomorrow".
At that moment behind Talisman appears from out of nowhere a Saracen, "Volkov. The woman you know as your sister is the reincarnation of an ancient being known as Ma-Ri.
Talisman believes you are his lost love Antonius. One of those things is true and one is not. For sure, what is true, is that if you and she join Talisman you will both be lost and Talisman damned. To save tomorrow you must kill yourself and your sister.
Anything else will be a betrayal of all you have sacrificed since Petrankov murdered your parents".
Talisman turns and backhands the Saracen!
He flies off of his feet, "Enough Caias or Sadir or whoever the hell you are! You press the boundaries of my love for you. Press further and I will show you the wrath of a Methuselah who has walked the earth since before Mesopotamia!"
Sergei turns to his sister and she turns to him, sadness in her eyes, "I. I. I... think this is all true Sergei. All of it but I swear, I am not evil!"
Sergei drops his sword, grabs her face and plants a passionate kiss on his sister's lips.
Talisman grins in approval.
Sergei then steps back and looks at Talisman, "What now?"

Each Member of the Inner Circle shall name who they believe should be Justicar of their own Clan. At least a quorum of Councilors will need to approve of these selections.
As we still are missing a few members. We shall begin by hearing the initial suggestions for those you believe should hold this title. I assume most of you have at least one or two Cainites in mind for this role.
For Clan Lasombra I nominate Gratiano de Veronese".

The rest of the Councilors begin to nominate their Justicars for a vote.
Lord Bajazet nominates Thetmes warrior Caliph.
Lord Criatas nominates Adana de Sforza. A few eyebrows are raised at the nomination, as this was a name no one else expected.
Cantor of Clan Gangrel nominates Erik Longtooth.
Lord Brian nominates Samiel the Second.
Clan Toreador nominates Violetta of Paris.
Finally, Clan Tremere nominates Grimgroth of Rome.
