Oh, I thought that looked low.
Kyronai, I have great news--if you ditch that armor, your AC goes up to 26.
Basically, you are Untrained in all armor, but you're Trained in unarmored defense. Wearing armor is actively making your AC much, much worse.
Armor is also carefully balanced around Dex and Str scores--heavier armor caps your Dex bonus lower and requires a higher Str to avoid penalties to skills. Because a chain shirt caps your Dex bonus to AC at +3, you don't actually gain a higher AC from wearing it versus leather armor (which caps at +4), and your mediocre Strength means you probably shouldn't.
Examples:
Kyronai wearing a +1 chain shirt: 16 AC (10, +0 proficiency, +3 armor, +3 Dex)
Kyronai wearing +1 leather armor: 16 AC (10, +0 proficiency, +2 armor, +4 Dex)
Kyronai wearing no armor: 26 AC (10, +12 trained proficiency, +0 armor, +4 Dex)
Kyronai with mage armor cast: 27 AC (10, +12 trained proficiency, +1 armor, +4 Dex)
Kyronai wearing +1 leather armor after getting Armor Proficiency: 28 AC (10, +12 trained proficiency, +2 armor, +4 Dex)
A 16 AC, at our level, basically means any average monster has at least a 50-50 shot at critting you with every attack. A 26-27 AC is pretty decent for a backliner, and a 28 AC is what Daphne has. Bastya is doing her own thing.
If you want to give Kyronai armor proficiency and give him more of a warmage vibe, Armor Proficiency is a lovely feat to take. Otherwise, I cannot strongly enough recommend either going with mage armor or going without.

If it helps, if you check the pages for the main skills you have, many of them list magic items that boost those skills on some or all checks--usually along with another interesting benefit. Like, Arcana has the hat of the magi, the specialist's ring and the (Uncommon) rings of wizardry, among others. That can be an easy way to bang some options out.

I am letting people know that as of today, I'm going to be on vacation and where I'm going, my internet may be spotty. I don't mind posting from my phone though when available. I should have internet but if you don't hear from me for some time, that is why. I should still be able to commit to my normal posting speed.

Aikaterine |

So it turns out I will not have much internet (just minutes), so I’m leaving this message to let you know it may be more spotty than expected. Feel free to bot me or have my character just shrink into the background

After having lost Amphitryon and Varocles, unfortunately, this group is going to lose another. Me. This has nothing to do with the game or anything around it. It is related to some vileness I've experienced in a completely unrelated manner. It's just really hit me hard in the motivation button to still want to roleplay at all. I hope you all continue and find out what is going on. I'm sorry for this. Best of luck to you all.

Before the group leaves Bástya will also grab the equipment off of Orpheus and Theseus.
Happy to share obviously, just not sure if we have to declare we are grabbing it or if it is assumed.
I'm not sure what happened to the link to the loot sheet, but I guess it makes sense to start over since we switched to 2E.
Generally, my preference in the games I play is just to add the loot to a Google Sheets list, and people just pull items off of it that they want to claim. And then we just sell when it makes sense. Simpler is better in my mind, so no tracking who claimed what; if it's on the list, it's available (pending reasonable discussion, of course), and if you claim something, you are responsible for removing it from the list so that there's no confusion.
I'm happy to start a new one, but I always give people the opportunity to volunteer to run it instead for two reasons: 1) Some people like more complex sheets than what I've suggested above, and 2) Google Drive is blocked from my work, so I'm not always timely with managing the loot list since I can only do it in the limited amount of time I have in the evenings.

Bástya Thunderforge |

I'd love to take the unwanted pieces to breakdown for crafting recipes! Bástya really wants to be wearing stuff of her own construction so she won't be taking much for the items themselves.

Daphne the Beekeeper |

I've already got one, so go nuts! X3
I also already have the lover's gloves and I'm not trained in Athletics. I could maybe use the bastard sword, though it's not Daphne's style--I'd rather strip away its +2 potency rune and striking rune for my sling and staff. That's up to Bastya, though.

Bástya Thunderforge |

Fine by me! Bastya is real specialized into shields and her backstory kinda precludes her from using any weapons anyway so the sword wouldn't do her any good. I also don't mind maintaining the sheet, but if anyone else wants to I certainly don't need to!
Also would y'all be okay with leaving claimed loot on the sheet (Just adding the claimants name to owner) until all the loot from the source of the claimed loot is taken, sold or disenchanted?

Kyronai |

A few questions:
1) It sounds like Kyronai cannot benefit from Daphne's healing; is that correct? I'm not familiar with the ability Daphne used, and I'm not used to healing failing, so I just want to make sure.
2) Can I use the following ability vs. Apollo?
Blood Ward
Range 30 feet
Targets 1 creature
Duration sustained up to 1 minute
You consolidate warding energies with a gesture, guarding a creature against attacks from a certain type of foe. Designate one of the following creature traits: aberration, animal, beast, celestial, construct, dragon, elemental, fey, fiend, fungus, monitor, ooze, plant, or undead. The target gains a +1 status bonus to its saving throws and AC against creatures with that trait. The target is temporarily immune for 10 minutes.
I'm not sure if a deity fits within any of those categories.
3) Is my map right? It shows Apollo over five feet away from the party, but he just tried to grapple Kyronai, which implies that Kyronai would by default start his turn next to him, thus taking the fire damage.
*********
Incidentally, I'm reading the Percy Jackson books to my kid, and after reflection I can tell that I was automatically assuming that Apollo in this game would be like Apollo from those books (a good-hearted doofus), which is why Kyronai was so ready to trust him when he first showed up. Lesson learned!

DM Amazing Red |

1. I believe you did get healing from the chalice but she failed the battle medicine check on you so you didn't get that healing.
2. In his weakened state, I would think he would still count as a celestial.
3. Apollo is next to you, you are probably confusing his token with Alexander's.
4. He is a goofus, just on the bad guys's side. If he were a hero, I would classify him as a himbo even.

Kyronai |

I'm considering casting grease on Daphne's armor. Would a +2 to Fort saves vs. grapples be of much use to Daphne here, or is that just a very minor benefit? Does she even get another chance to resist the grapple?

Kyronai |

Hey, I realize that I've been doing a poor job tracking spells and such on my character sheet. Part of the reason for that is because I want to reorganize the sheet to make things less jumbled. Until I can get around to that, here's my running list of spells and magic items I've used for the day:
Acid arrow
Dispel magic
Subconscious suggestion
Black tentacles
Fly
Grease
Shield
Mirror Image
Wand of Manifold Missiles: 1/2

Hey gang, I'll be traveling for the next couple of weeks for a family vacation. I expect to be able to post for the most part, but there will be a couple of times that I'm off the grid. GM, feel free to bot me if my absence is holding things up.

Bástya Thunderforge |

Hey, this week till late Sunday I have huge commitments at work so I likely wont be able to get on to check and definitely won't be able to make a post. if things are waiting on me please bot!

Kyronai |

Hey all, I'm back. I didn't have access to Discord while travelling, so I just got caught up with that discussion.
Thanks to Bástya and Daphne for keeping Kyronai alive, both with their character abilities and their system mastery!

Kyronai |

So, Apollo isn't a completely bad fit for Kyronai if you ignore the shadow-witch/sun-god thing. Apollo was the god of archery, which Kyronai can continue. Apollo was also the god of music, dance, poetry, etc., and Kyronai at one point wanted to be a playwright, and I still have skill ranks put into Lore (theater).
He was also the god of prophecy, some of which can be replicated with Witch spells. Finally, he was also the god of healing and medicine (he wore a lot of hats)... and I guess Kyronai is going to drop the ball there. I'm sure it will be fine!

Kobold Catgirl |

The funny thing is, Daphne actuallly has a lot of subtle Apollo coding, because one of her big inspirations was the Thriae and Bee Maidens of Greek myth, who were closely-tied to Apollo. The healing and archery stuff is certainly there, she's very into music, and she has prophetic powers through the Brightness Seeker feat. Not that she'd exactly be happy about receiving a deity's mantle! :P
