This is the story of a time long ago, a time of myth and legend. The gods used to be petty and cruel plaguing mankind with suffering. However, that time has long passed. The gods themselves have grown out of their petty squabbles and feuds and have realized that they were wasting their gifts. The gods are far closer to politicians than the lords they were in the time of old but no less powerful. In fact the gods themselves now live on Earth in the Hall of Olympieion. The building is less of a temple and more like a government building. The campaign takes place on ancient earth and will mostly center around the country of Greece and its neighboring countries.

Questions:

Could Amphitryon have taken care of this while on Olympus? And if so, would he have access to people who could cast enchantments at 1/2 price for having the feat at his temple? Because if so, he'd have 4291 gold, and both enchantments would cost 3850.

I ask, because it would really impact how he goes about being in town.

For RPing this, I am going to just roll it into his previous powers. His entire deal as being the 'shadow warrior' before was that he could summon a weapon from shadows. Now that he has had the rebuild, I'm going to fluff this as being his armor and weapon will work the same way. Not that they actually disappear, but that they are hidden within his shadow. Which is why true seeing or the like would see through it, as per enchantment descriptions.

So yes. He dropped all of his gold, and a useful item, for fluff reasons. But after his recent power up, I'm really alright with that. :D

We still have "smile" (Currently +3 Keen Kukri) in my inventory. It belonged to Diskord. Aik really should take it, even just to keep on her person. It sounds like it will level up with her, and may even take a different form.

Finally, to our GM.

Would you allow me to take this? Umbral Unmasking feels very IC for Amphitryon. The idea here would be that his shadow is always that of Ares in his full armor. So he can certainly walk around with his glamered armor and weapons, but someone with keen eyes could pick out that something is wrong.

I'd take secret knowledge for +2 knowledge religion. Which feels like something that very much fits what has happened to him.

But I think I recall Aikaterine lamenting that she was doing all the talking, so Kyronai started trying to direct a line of questioning, and Aikaterine came in and changed the subject. I think? All I remember is thinking (again) that I was being too covert for a PbP.

I mean, I would love to comment on it if you do find the instance. You can feel free to message me if you want. I know my intention was not to trample over other people's RPs though. I don't play like that. Perhaps I had forgotten some details of a previous action you had taken, or had missed it completely. I try to typically gain a full perspective of what's going on, so if I screwed that up, I'm sorry. It wasn't intentional.

As to her lamenting of speaking, that's almost constant for her. She is not a face, and I fully intended on Polyoinos being that face (maybe we all did) and she could be demure in the background, but since he left, we all are kind of playing silent characters...someone has to do something. Aikaterine is very well-mannered and often would rather be open than silent, however, she will lament internally about it constantly if there isn't someone taking the reins. She hates talking as much as she is, to be honest. In her mind, it is a service to those who saved her life.

As for this instance, with her thinking they are idiots for calling out it's entirely reasonable for her to be mad given what was going on. She'll probably laugh about it later though. To view the situation for what it is, she's toying with the pirate and then suddenly Amph rages out and Varocles starts acting the herald. It's almost as if saying, "Talking time is over!"

Having been contacted by the GM on the side about it, I believe the problem here is Varocles' actions. I have told the GM that we should power through this fight/encounter, and then we can write Varocles and myself out of the story.

Mechanics breakdown.

(1) Amphitryon is a warpriest. The biggest part of this is that he can do swift action self-buffs, currently 6 tiems a day. My basic numbers assume that he always has divine favor up. This gives him +3 luck bonus to hit and damage, increased to +4 due to the trait fate's favored.

(2) As a warpriest he gets extra combat feats. With this, I have the weapon of the chosen feat tree. This has a number of effects.
(2a) As a swift action he can make his weapon re-roll miss chance due to concealment and it does chaotic aligned damage.
(2b) Anytime he makes a single attack with a greatsword, he rolls twice and picks the higher roll.

(3) He is an arsenal champion warpriest. Loses a blessing and damage die doesn't increase for favored weapon. But he gets weapon training. He has glvoves of dueling, which increases weapon training by +2.

Non-buffed
To Hit: +6 (BaB) +4 (Str) +1 (WF) +2 (Enchantment) +4 (WT) = +17
Buffs
* Divine Favor adds +4, Bull's Strength adds +3

Damage
Damage: 6d6 (Impact Greatsword with Vital Strike) + 6 (Str) + 2 (Enchantment) +4 (WT) + 6 (PA) +2 (WS) +2 (WS) = 6d6+20
Buffs
* Divine Favor adds +4, Bull's Strength adds +3.

And that's pretty much how he operates. Always keep divine favor up whenever possible. Bull's strength after that. I experimented with the spell Inheritor's Strike (+5 to hit on a single attack as a swift action) as it seemed like a good idea to use it to ensure that he hits. But it is a lvl 2 spell slot, so I'm not sure that it is a good use of resources. I'll probably swap it out if I get the chance.

Two handed, but only BaB 6. So just +6 PA. Bulls strength is just a common buff he will use. The +3 is damage for being 2 handed

Let's see, I can do +9 vs touch AC, which is fairly decent.

Then without damage I can instant kill with phantasmal killer, or if damaging, we'll say fireball, 9d6+4d6+1. Reflex for half.

I don't even think I know what her +3 "Smile" cestus/dagger does. It's still a mystery.

Thank you! I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Kind of hard to be the avatar of war if you can't do damage. As for Aik? She's a really deadly caster. Something which Amph will struggle with more and more as time goes on. Well, that and crowds. A single big hit is great. But a 9d6+46+1 fireball can drop large numbers much, much faster.

That Belt of Physical Prowess would be good for me since those are my weak stats. The boots of Speed too. The rest I could sell. I'm tempted by the Rapier as a back up weapon, but I think I'll stick with Smile for now as a primary. As for the other stuff, it's great, but the money I can use to upgrade the equipment I already have during downtime.

I am claiming a cloak of resistance +4, a ring of protection +3 and an amulet of natural armor +3. That will put my +1 versions into the party sell pool.

I think that Kyr could make good use out of the wounding keen rapier. Even if he isn't built for close combat, it's good to have a weapon for if it happens. He could also make use of one of the boots of speed, given that he is an archer.

Also, can anyone use the burglar bracers? They are pretty amazing, all things considered.

Well your spell has SR and full gods are immune to magic. Plus you two aren't full gods yet so you can't circumvent that. Your spells would work on half gods like Alexia or Hercules or any of the half god heroes.

When I was thinking of an action for Kyronai to take, I noticed that a lot of my current spells rely on the target needing to breathe. I'm assuming that if the gods can't breathe, they won't be harmed? Assuming that I got past the SR, would suffocation or steal breath prevent them from speaking, at least?

What about Amph and Aika? Do they need to breathe?

Kyronai will take the Boots of Speed, Amulet of Natural Armor +3, Cloak of Resistance +4, and whichever Ring of Protection Aikaterine doesn't want (+2 or +3).

Amph, interesting offer regarding the rapier, but I'm going to pass. I don't want to hang on to a valuable item like that, the entire time doing my best to avoid situations where I might need it. I'd rather it get turned into gold I can use to enhance my current headband and chain shirt.

It is sad to say but I will be leaving the campaign. I’ve really enjoyed the campaign, with DM Amazing Red, as well as RPing with Aik and Kyr. I hope to be in other campaigns with both of you in the future.

I had been talking with our GM about Amph’s build in PMs. As the campaign will be moving into PF2, of which I don’t have any of the books and don’t know the rules, I’ll be bowing out. I just wanted to say that on my end there are no hard feelings and I wish you all the best.

Hi there, I'm new! I'm very excited to join you all going forward. This seems like a fine group of players.

For what it's worth, I'd be sorry to lose Amph, but I get how much of a pain system switches can be. I'm pretty comfortable with PF2 at this point, so I'd be happy to help if anyone would like some guidance navigating the AONPRD. I have a Discord, too, if that's easier. :)

Anyways, my character is Daphne, a medic-archetype thaumaturge. Sort of a utility ranged martial with a lot of healing abilities and knowledge skills. She's also meant to be able to serve as a face if needed, and has a lot of half-decent knowledge about monsters and the sort. I like making jacks of all trades, in case you can't tell. She's overall meant to be support, not the main event.

Flavor-wise, Daphne's a cottage-dwelling elf beekeeper and mead brewer. She's very anxious, with a sweet demeanor and a sort of world-weary vibe. Daphne's a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the gods, but she'll be a fine team player no matter what as long as the overarching goal is preventing harm to innocents.
