Gods and Monsters and Heroes (Inactive)

Game Master Daxter

This is the story of a time long ago, a time of myth and legend. The gods used to be petty and cruel plaguing mankind with suffering. However, that time has long passed. The gods themselves have grown out of their petty squabbles and feuds and have realized that they were wasting their gifts. The gods are far closer to politicians than the lords they were in the time of old but no less powerful. In fact the gods themselves now live on Earth in the Hall of Olympieion. The building is less of a temple and more like a government building. The campaign takes place on ancient earth and will mostly center around the country of Greece and its neighboring countries.

Thanks for your support(s)!

Next time, let's coup de grâce the guy Kyronai slumbers before he's woken up!

Male Human(Amazing)

Anyone heard from Teledoros? It's been about 2 weeks since his last post.

Half-elf Witch 10 ~ AC 26 | F+15, R+17, W+15 | Per +13 (+2 init) | Hero Pts: 2 | HP 49/80

He's been posting on a couple other aliases since that time.

Unless you've been talking with him via Private Messages, I recommend botting him for the rest of this battle.

Can any of us use a Runestone?

Runestone of Power:
A runestone of power is a small chip of polished stone etched with a rune. These objects are potent aids to all spellcasters who cast spontaneously (but not to spellcasters like clerics who have the option to spontaneously cast certain spells). Once per day, a spontaneous caster can draw upon a runestone of power to cast a spell—doing so is part of the spellcasting action, and expends that runestone’s power for the day rather than one of the spellcaster’s actual spell slots for the day. An expended runestone of power recharges its capacity after 24 hours. The spell must be of a particular level, depending on the runestone.

I think Varocles, Poly, Teledoros, and myself are all prepared casters.

Half-elf Witch 10 ~ AC 26 | F+15, R+17, W+15 | Per +13 (+2 init) | Hero Pts: 2 | HP 49/80

Loot added to the loot sheet. Not a whole lot we can use.

Varocles and Poly, are you interested in rolling for that Ring of Protection +1? High roll?

The Bard and the Skald can use those Runestones.

Go ahead Kyronai, take the ring.

Shame about the armor, but no Heavy Armor wearers here! Clerics don't get it, and Gloomblades give it up. I could take it as a feat at 5th level I suppose. Not opposed to better AC!

You're right, of course. I have no idea why I said that, other than that my brain is mush from homeschooling and WFH at the same time.

Hell, I screwed up the date twice today. Not that being quarantined makes it easy. The days blend together, etc.

Hey, DM Amazing Red: I hope everything is going okay in your life, right now. (The same goes for all of you.) Just checking in, I guess.

I'm enjoying this campaign and would like to see it continue, even if it means we have to slow down for a bit or take a break.

Do we want to recruit to replace Teledoros?

Male Human(Amazing)

Yea, sorry I've been AFK for a bit. I will move us along tonight. It's up to you guys if we want to replace him.

Half-elf Witch 10 ~ AC 26 | F+15, R+17, W+15 | Per +13 (+2 init) | Hero Pts: 2 | HP 49/80

No need to apologize. It's a weird time.

Unless anyone has been in contact with him and they know he's going to be returning soon, I'm up for replacing him.

Hey guys. Sorry for the long absence. I'm sure we've all had challenges in life lately, mine have left me with only so much time and focus to go around and unfortunately this campaign has suffered for it. I'll go ahead and formalize stepping away from the campaign. I've enjoyed playing with you all, and hopefully will have an opportunity to do so again in the future at some point. If you'd like to replace Teledoros, that's fine with me.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and happy gaming.

So now, just the Skald. Makes loot distribution easier for those particular items.

5th level will be nice for you, as Spell Kenning is a great ability for Skalds.

Castle Questions:

1. How tall is the wall?
2. Could we see any structures inside the castle as we approached?
3. How big is the castle? Small (potentially just a keep and bailey), large (basically a palace surrounded by the wall), somewhere in between?
4. Are there any trees, mountains, or other terrain against the walls anywhere?
5. When you say "the gate is up," do you mean the portcullis is up, and we can walk right in, or do you mean a drawbridge or something similar is up, sealing the entrance?

Male Human(Amazing)

1. The walls are 30 feet high.
2. You do see some buildings in the courtyard as well as a large building near the back.
3. I would say medium, so not quite a palace.
4. There are trees that you could climb up.
5.The portcullis is up, so you can see inside but you are still locked out.

There is a third solution that no one has tried yet, fyi.

Latest development is tapping into that trope of a fellowship splitting for the greater good, then to reunite.

I would be trusting you lot to find a way to free Poly from back in the "real realm".

May be a trope in books and movies, but rule 172 is pretty inviolable in the game!
