King in Thorns slideshow!

You keep on looking around, and find that in the room just opposite the one with the pools where you met this Nefaram Subeli, is the place where he was camping.

You see he had set up a bed and cooking place, and that there are many mundane pieces of gear, which together form an adventurer’s kit.

Nefaram also has a satchel filled various objects that he has looted from this crypt.

These include an ominous curved dagger with a small onyx gem in its hilt and a mirror decorated with a serpent motif.
In total, the contents of Nefaram’s satchel are worth 3 gp.

After that you go to the main room, opposite the big hall you entered, and realize this is some sort of elaborate shrine.

The centerpiece of the shrine is a 10-foot-tall statue of some god, holding a brazier of lit coals. The god is like a human, with a dog or a jackal's head.

DC 15 Religion:
This is Set an Osiriani god of darkness, deserts, and murder.

"Statues... I was hoping for something else" sighs the brash scholar.

"I'm still curious about that darkness. Any ideas how he did it?"

Clearly not from this part of the world, Kamil has no idea of what god the statue represent, and even if it's one!

in the core rulebook it says (untrained) after the activity, rather than (trained). I did not read the details.

"No," Yel says simply as he repacks the unused first aid supplies back into his bandolier.

The big cat walks to the statue and begins sniffing it with interest.

King in Thorns slideshow!

It seems Recall Knowledges are all untrained (I imagine there might cases when trained is called for? I see traps, for example, have levels of perception needed to be spotted: untrained, trained... so might be the same for other things?
But, in any case, one needs to roll high on the die! xD
____________________________________________________

No one having an idea why a person would have a dog head, and Yel's feline not smelling anything of interest on this statue, you find nothing else of interest here, and then past the double doors to the south, after having checked them for traps.

You find a wide dusty corridor, and start exploring.
It is a little "maze"-like, and seems eery, with Kamil's light spell pushing the shadows back.
You wind your way with a couple turns to the east and end up facing some stairs that descend into the dark... the workers have not yet cleaned this up, and the passage is blocked with stones.
Also, the light seems to be eaten up by some deep dark down below the rocks.

Not being able to do much other than bring heavy tools to clear the way, you head back to where you entered, and explore to the west, where you find a couple branches, one dead-ending, the other looping back to the main passage... and you end up passing a door that leads you to the hallway you first entered.

Outside, you see the light of the sun, and this is refreshing and heart warming for you.

Also, you hear some distant singing again.

It seems you have explored all of the ancient tomb... other than what needs to be excavated more.

Teja takes a final look at the statue, before the group moves on

With a shrug she returns to the oppressive heat and singing above.

"Maybe you should visit the realm of the Mammoth lords sometime?" she suggests. "Lots of men with tatoos there, and at least there is a reason to want to keep warm.."

Perception, Hopper: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Hopper is totally oblivious to having been tracked and stalked by a large feline... thus he feels fine.

Officer Elrekah decides to guide you back to Sothis, and the Sandswept Hall, where you go report to your Venture-captain.

Back at the Lodge, Norden Balentiir hears your reports, and though sad this thieving clerk died, he is happy with your work, and hands you a small pouch of silver coins, that you share amongst yourselves - Kamil getting a bit more for having been so close to the Boneyard!
(each your share, with more for Kamil as level 2)

While you rest some Hopper crafts some serums that blow up, and some bombs that soothe ointments, for a couple of days, but since he mixes everything up, he only manages to get a refund on the crockery pots he borrowed, and pockets 2 copper pieces.
Then, after two days, he gives up.
So, 2 cp for your Downtime

Meanwhile, Teja and Kamil give a performance (what do each of you do?) for Norden Balentiir, who invited lots of important people for a nice evening.
Even if they like Kamil, eerybody is delighted and enthused by this tall pale lady from the North, who is so “different”
And Norden slips both some coins, but discreetly hands Teja some extra coins!
4 sp for Teja’s Downtime (fine for non-Slow for this Quest)
1.5 sp (15 cp) for Kamil’s Downtime

Hopper grumbles: ”Goblins want equal pay!”

Finally, as you all part ways, and the adventure ends, Elrekah reappears: "I have taken my holidays and sick days and a leave of absence, I am ready to travel to the Lands of the Mammoths and find real men!"

So endeth the Standstone Secret

@Yel I don't recommend letting your cat hunt poor old Hopper down, he is stringy and probably poisonous. The cat would go sick ;)
And I am not even saying that it adds to Goblin discrimination, not only unequal pay but also big feline stalking :P

Long live Kamil's Expanse!

Thanks all for the fun game.
