my other character has nothing for this one either, ha ha.I will aid a skill untrained with a +1
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Are you aware that the DC to aid is now 20? One of the reasons that at low levels it is often better to try a skill check yourself.
I suggest you wait to see what others are doing so perhaps you can add some great roleplay and gain a bonus that way.
| Sage Thyme1 |
Oops, forgot about that too. Ah well. I almost succeded
| GM Numbat |
Also remember, critical failure has the opposite effect when attempting to aid.
May I suggest that if you don't think you can safely engage to distract that perhaps you can always try to open conversation with the Faction Leader.
Also, creative solutions! You do not need to all do the same thing.
I have found I have really needed to adjust my mindset away from PF1 habits. The four levels of success/failure applying to almost everything quite changes the dynamics. The three action economy in encounter mode allows for a more dynamic board. Single skills that encompass multiple activities takes some adjusting to.
I am definitely still learning and developing new approaches.

Hey all! It may be tomorrow before I can post, so I wanted to drop in and say feel free to not Kloonk with a society roll if needed.

Sorry guys, weekends can be hard for me. I should be back on track now!
| GM Numbat |
That's OK, weekends are hit or miss with me. Sometimes I don't make it to the computer for a day, other times I am checking posts 8 times a day.
While I prefer to keep the game moving at a reasonably fast pace, my erratic lifestyle and the real-life issues others face often precludes that. As long as all players are good with the pace of the game and willing to speak up if they are not, and as long as we are all having fun, then from my perspective, all is good.
So, aim for a faster game, happy if we have a moderately paced game, speak up if you have issues with pacing or anything else, have fun - does that work for everyone?

Sounds fantastic to me!

Of course, hours later, I find the perfect riddle I should have used in game. ><;

I'm good with that! My own schedule is somewhat erratic and to add to it I'm beginning the process of looking for/buying a home so that's taking up some of my free time when I'm not working. A moderately-paced game is fine with me but I'll do my best to keep up with a slightly faster pace too :)

Not too far from where we're at now, actually. My husband and I both work at the same place but it's currently 42 miles and roughly a 45 minute drive from where we live. Even with just making the drive 3 times a week, that's a lot of mileage + gas + wear & tear on our vehicles.
It'll mean moving across state lines (from TN to KY) and it'll put us further away from both of our families but I know it'll be worth it in the long run. No more rent! No more noisy neighbors on the other side of the wall! We'll be able to have pets!
(I have sorely missed having a cat or two around.)
So...I'm anxious about the process but also excited and hopeful :)

I have many tongues but cannot taste
By me, most things are turned to waste
I crack and snap, yet I stay whole
I may take the largest toll
I assisted all of the first men
And I will pay them back again
Around me, people snuggle and sleep
Yet run when I am released from my keep
I jump around and leap and bound
The cold man wishes I he had found
I know that feeling Pooka. Except I'm being young and dumb about it so that my wife and I can get out of the area we're in, moving from West Texas to East Texas.

I am departing early tomorrow morning to head to Skalcon. I will try to check if Krizz and Sage have anything to add to the current conversation/encounter (they don't have to) and will try to progress the game though I don't know when that will be.
Any plans for who you go to see next?

Skalcon was great! It is a very relaxed and friendly convention with the opportunity to enjoy Organized Play tables not usually available. I played two Season 0 retired scenarios and Thursty's most recent exclusive SFS offering. I also had fun running a couple of scenarios, manning the HQ desk, and meeting and talking with some wonderful folk, many of whom were new to me.
If you have a chance to attend this one, I definitely recommend it. As a bonus, it is all in aid of raising funds for a worthy cause.
Now, off to refresh my memory of your previous posts and provide you with some new material.

Glad you had a good time!
A lot can happen in a year but I will say that there was some talk among some of my fellow local lodge members of maybe trying to attend next year's SkalCon, so you never know... :)
I'm...kind of a shy, introverted person IRL but I've been trying to go to cons when I can manage it.

After going to Save vs. Hunger in April and then DieCon in June, I've come to the conclusion that I *really* need a decent amount of restful sleep if I'm going to attend conventions + the ability to slip away from the crowds and decompress for a bit if I need to.
Both were fun conventions but in the first case the location (an actual food bank) didn't really have anywhere to escape to unless you wanted to go sit outside on the sidewalk - which wasn't an option at all that Saturday because it rained and that Sunday it was pretty hot and there was no shade. By the time the last game of the con rolled around I was pretty mentally checked out and the fact that we had 7 PCs + 2 eidolons at the table didn't help matters.
In the second case I ended up having to share a bed with a friend, which hadn't been the case the previous two years I've attended - this did not make for restful sleep for me. So between games I found myself needing to either trot back to the hotel room for a bit or sit outside in the hallway where it was quieter, whereas the previous two years I had always felt charged enough to just hang out in the convention hall itself between slots while I ate and/or chatted with people.
| GM Numbat |
Admittedly it really helped that the person I was meant to be rooming with for Skalcon opted not to and so I had a room to myself. Hugh difference.
Origins and Gen Con, sharing four to a room, was really hard. I don't know how I am going to handle that in future.
I do know that running a full load of games at conventions every 2-3 weeks from April - September was not a good idea. I really don't know how Tonya manages her schedule. It must be gruelling, even with the additional support she has.
Kloink

I can't help but giggle, Kloink has pretty good common... except pronouns and speaking in the first person. Poor thing.
I have never been to a con, but even despite the business and my own social anxiety, I'd love to at least attend one.

Before I up and post it, could an accounting lore be substituted for this? Accounting is all about organizing information after all.
| GM Numbat |
SALVE OF ANTIPARALYSIS ITEM 6+
CONSUMABLE HEALING MAGICAL NECROMANCY OIL
Usage held in 2 hands; Bulk L
Activate [one-action] Interact
Applying this filmy salve to a creature helps it overcome magical paralysis.
Type greater salve of antiparalysis; Level 12; Price 325 gp
A greater salve of antiparalysis can potentially remove petrification. The creature recovers as if it were the target of both a 6th-level remove paralysis spell and a stone to flesh spell.
REMOVE PARALYSIS A surge of energy frees a paralyzed creature. You can attempt to counteract a single effect imposing the paralyzed condition on the target. This does not cure someone who is paralyzed from some natural state or effect, such as paralysis caused by non-magical wounds or toxins.
STONE TO FLESH Manipulating the fundamental particles of matter, you convert stone into flesh and blood. You restore a petrified creature to its normal state or transform a stone object into a mass of inert flesh (without stone’s Hardness) in roughly the same shape.

I don't have much of a preference for where to start, but I do think we should do the 3 missions that are within Absalom proper in some sort of order and do the flotsam graveyard mission either first or last.
Kloink
|
Player me agrees to do the three in absolom first, Kloink is a teacher's pet that wants to impress her boss. ;P
Actually, being the alchemist being GIVEN a neat oil to work with, her vote is to go to Westgate and revive the whistleblower.
| GM Numbat |
Looks like we have two votes for the Precipice Quater to stay the night in the haunted house and one for Westgate to revive the whistleblower.
I am going with the rule of three, when we have three who agree then that is the decision made. If we don't have a solid agreement by tonight (or maybe tomorrow morning given I am running a Starfinder game tonight) then it will be the haunted house.
Sneak Runt
|
Haunted house works for Sneak Runt. She ain't afraid of no ghosts!
And here's a stealth check if it's not too late for her to try to impress the last dude we saw at the party.
stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
She would pop out from behind Gorm or peek at the halflfing dude from between his feet or something.
| GM Numbat |
Well, it seems I must have only hit preview not send on yesterday's post as I don't see it. Which explains why there was no response from the team.
The short version was a reminder to adjust your positions on slide 2 and a discussion regarding exploration mode and exploration activities.
If anyone wants more explanation of exploration mode, please let me know and I will happily oblige. I will need to know what exploration activity you are using when you approach and enter the mansion. I will take that as your default activity unless you specify otherwise.
The map is on slide 11. I have placed you on approach but you may wish to reorganise, or not.
