Name Jim, aka Uktar
Character Name: Crazy Hairy
PFS Number and Character Number 100685-2
Initiative Bonus +6 base (heightened awareness, mutagen, reduce person all could be a factor...)
Perception Bonus +24
Normal or Slow Track Normal

Classes and Levels Grenadier (Alchemist) 10/ Master Chymist 2
Faction: The Exchange (boon to still keep Sczarni benefits)
(I could switch to Bard 12/Oracle of Lore 1 if party more in need of buffs, knowledges and face character...)

Description: Crazy Hairy is one of the smallest, puniest Gnomes you’ve ever seen. He has orange skin, and hair that looks a lot like a "troll-doll" that spikes to a point on top. It's deep red at the roots, ranging up into orange, with vibrant yellow at the tips (i.e. kind of looks like a candle flame). He carries a longbow, a wide assortment of bottles and vials (steel and iron for his consumables, glass for the weapons) on crossed bandoliers, attached to his belt and his backpack. He wears a very nice looking cestus over one arm, carries a buckler, and sports a shiny mithral breastplate amid his collection of vials and bags.
He’s very twitchy, and he seems fond of scratching and muttering curses at the large, hairy growth at the base of the back of his neck. Except as you keep watching, you notice he’s not really scratching it, more like petting it. And once you get close enough to hear, the muttered curses actually sound more like whispered sweet nothings.
Then he holds out his hand to the nasty looking tumor, and it crawls onto his hand, taking on the shape of a Hedgehog.

Biography of your character: (I'd apologize for the length, but you asked:)
Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm (pronounced: ZTAH-yah-TAR-klan-BOH-lad-KRism--the last “zk” is silent) comes from a small tribe of Lava Gnomes that lived in the depths of Island of Hermea. When Menkgare discovered the tribe, he drove them out, but kept the most talented illusionists as part of his breeding program, and Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm is a descendant of that bloodline. Unfortunately for Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm, he was born with too much Lava Gnome in his veins, so he was exiled from the Island of Hermea since the age of 16 (very young for a gnome).

After struggling to survive, Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm found his way to Gogpodda. Unfortunately, Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm soon wore out his welcome; for some reason, residents of a small floating island made up on flotsam and jetsam didn't appreciate someone with a proclivity to start fires. Go figure.

After a number of years wandering from nation to nation, town to town, usually a mere half step ahead of the local arson investigators, Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm was taken in by a member of the Alchemist Guild of Katapesh, who recognized and channeled Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm's innate abilities with fire. After completing his training, Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm resumed his wandering ways, looking for bigger and better things to blow up. Along the way, he formed a bond with Franks, the Hedgehog who became his hairy tumorous familiar.

Then one day, he stumbled upon a group of gnomes who seemed to relish kicking the crap out of each other...and anyone who got in their way. They called themselves the G-Nomes, ‘cause there ain’t nothin’ silent about a G-Nome. He had finally found a real home...
Explosions and hilarity have been his life ever since.

At first, his G-Nome homeboys just called him "Zee", but after a heist ended with Zztasjatartklanboladkrzzkm blowing up most of a city block, the G-Nomes now call him Crazy. And since Crazy's only real friend was his hedgehog, where he was almost constantly muttering to the prickly hedgehog in his hand, they started to refer to his tumor familiar as Hairy. They were considered an inseparable team: Crazy & Hairy

After the G-nomes went to work for the Sczarni faction, some of the Sczarni henchmen overheard the G-nomes referring to the dynamic duo of “Crazy & Hairy” and mistook it as a single name for just the gnome, hence the outside world calls him Crazy Hairy.
But the G-nomes know: he’s just Crazy. . .
RE-PREE-ZENT!!! G-Nome in da HOUSE!!!
[The G-Nomes are sort of a street gang of gnomes whose culturally speaking are a cross between hip-hop (West Coast) and Fight Club. (See Larry Correia's Monster Hunter series--used with permission)]

Sovereign Court

Name Michael Hallet
Character Name Favian Aldori
PFS Number and Character Number 2608-9
Initiative Bonus +14 (+18 if heightened awareness is active)
Perception Bonus -1 (He's too full of himself at times to notice what is going on around him)
Normal or Slow Track Normal

Classes and Levels Kensai Magus 12

Biography of your character Nearly everything about Favian Aldori is a lie, even his name. He is no son of the famed fencing school, but has honed his skill with the blade bearing the name of its founder without formal training.

He believes deeply in the "divine right of kings," that those who rule over others are chosen by the gods. Even though he is no liege, it is only because, in his mind, the petulant peasants refuse to acknowledge his rightful status. His actions are pompous, not regal. He knows nothing about nobility or social graces, but acts like he is part of the inner circle.

But he is no Sczarni swindler. Though he has a penchant for falsehoods, he has no skill in it. Every bold claim is as transparent as the obvious bravado it is delivered with. But few people dare to call him out on it. A simple glare from this swordsman has caused courage to falter. He is not above blackmail either. His companion Desmond was a trained circus monkey acquired from the Umbra Carnival is part of an exchange whereby he kept their secrets safe. The other part of the deal is that he uses their resources to conduct a smuggling operation along their route and he reaps most of the profits (caravan vanity, intimidate variety).

He joined the Pathfinder Society to literally enhance his fame and prestige, especially among those of the Sovereign Court whom he feels have the key to his desires for power and authority.

Mr. GM Worg, before I post character details, can you tell me if this is an appropriate scenario for a paladin? My only seeker is a paladin of Shelyn.

I am not GM Worg but I have run this multiple times. I cannot think of a more appropriate scenario for a Paladin.

Scarab Sages

It is a scenario with a fair amount of combat encounters if that is what you mean.

I have two for you, one high and one low. I'll get the low tier up after work.

Name: Thralleon
Character Name: Marcus Samuel
PFS Number and Character Number: 146509-10
Initiative Bonus: +15
Perception Bonus: +35 [36 vs surprise/37 vs traps]
Normal or Slow Track: Normal

Classes and Levels: Fighter(Unbreakable) 1 / Rogue(Unchained) 4 / Pain Taster 10

Biography of your character

Marcus grew up with the teachings of Callistria. He found her teachings of vengeance to be especially attractive. After years of training he mastered the whip and set forth to learn techniques to avoid notice. He quickly noticed he was much heartier than the other trainees, able to shake of poisons and diseases that brought them low. When he discovered the legends of the drow pain tasters he went digging for more information in the Dark Archive. What he found was intense, methods of self harm to trigger adrenaline rushes in combat, mental techniques to take control of blood through the body, and even training regimes that could qualify as torture but increase the effectiveness of mind and body.

His time with the Society has afflicted him, Lissalan rites increased his speed while cursing him with an aspect of the Sihedron and shadows now haunt him, but his dedication to the 10 is unwavering. He has revealed traitors and saved ally nations. He stands prepared to step into the field again.

I mean more on the flavor side. Some scenarios require a lot of dishonest or dishonorable behavior to complete, so I usually ask before bringing a paladin. It also lets me judge if the GM has a strong dislike of paladins. :)

Scarab Sages

The paladin will be fine as far as the code of conduct is concerned, both in the eyes of the GM and the scenario's objective.

Thrag is a warrior bred. He is always chasing new challenges and on the lookout for new foes to test his strength against. His quest has led him to one important conclusion, preparation is key, in combat and out. A handy scabbard sits on his hip, in it a weapon for any foe. Recently, he's learned to apply his lessons in polearm combat to social situations. His ability to read the flow of conversations and sense what is being concealed has left forward.

I'd be open to participating in this!

Have a few characters in range, including:

A level 14 flame oracle, archery focused
A level 12 dwarf bard with a gun
A level 12 old-school summoner with a boat!

Name: Redelia
Character Name: Hania
PFS Number and Character Number: 184425-1
Initiative Bonus: +4
Perception Bonus: +0
Normal or Slow Track: Normal

Classes and Levels: Paladin 13

Biography of your character: Hania is a servant of the Lady of Grace (Shelyn). She worships through her music, and has at least once composed her own hymn of praise. She mourns when she sees things of beauty destroyed or falling apart, but mostly concentrates on saving lives and helping others. She values goodness more than following the rules, although she strives for both. On occasion, when needed to pursue good, she has 'failed to notice' things such as companions telling lies.

Dark Archive

Hi GM. I'm going to withdraw Marcus from consideration for this scenario. There's an opening in Passing the Torch and I noticed my old Venture Captain is already on the roster. I would like to take the opportunity to play with him again.

Thrag, the Lvl 13 Fighter, is still looking to join the party here.

Scarab Sages

Works for me!
12+12+13+13 is going to choke us into low tier definitively.

The party comp so far is Paladin, Fighter, Alchemist and Magus.
@Evilminion Will that help your choice?

Anyone have preferences?
Bard works with the melee sorts... but the oracle would provide some possible much needed healing.
The summoner seems unnecessary.

Grand Lodge

Oracle seems the best to fill in the party

Scarab Sages

Works for me.

And he's a flame oracle... which I suppose fits the theme. =)

Scarab Sages

Alright Teriq, if you could fill out the rest of the info for me as requested above it would be most appreciated.

As far as our table, with 5 people, would you all like to proceed or have at least one more person?

Scarab Sages

I'm always for full tables, just so folks get the chance to play the scenarios... and the high level stuff can be challenging at times, so the more the merrier, IMO. =)

I'd love to join you guys if you are looking for a 6th.

I have a 13 investigator (Galtan noble in exile. Knowledge and rogue skills. Melee) or a 13 sorcerer/monk (elemental themed. Pretty blasty. Seeker sorcerer, so can do trapfinding)

It seems like either would be okay for the group. Anyone have a preference?

Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Later seasons are meant for 6 players, and indeed, with high tier it's a good idea going in fully loaded. Combats tend to be kill or be killed in rapid order, so I'm all for having another victim player.

That being said, if it's okay with the GM, instead of Crazy Hairy the mad bomber, I'm going to bring my Bard Akyr Silvertusk. His buffs should prove useful to many a party member. And even though he's level 14, we're still same tier:
12+13+13+14+13+14=79
79/6 = 13.16666...

Character Name Akyr Silvertusk

Working on updating his profile

Scarab Sages

@M Morris Both choices sound pretty solid.

@Uktar I'll permit the change.

With Morris we will be at 6 players. Once he decides what to bring, I will close the recruitment.

Sovereign Court

I'll bring the investigator. I think the sorcerer would have a lot of overlap with Teriq. Haven't used him in PBP before, so give me a few days to get his sheet up to date.

Biography of your character
Julian's parents fled the Red Revolution in Galt when he was just a small child. His family lived in exile in Taldor for years, and his mother always regaled him with takes of pre-revolutionary Galt and its great schools of philosophy and works of art.

Once he came of age, Julian decided to return to Galt to study at the university in Isarn. The country was in a period of relative stability and for years, he was able to hide his identity as the scion of a noble house. Inevitably, the political purges returned to the country, and though it pained him, Julian followed his parents' footsteps into exile.

Julian spent years wandering the Inner Sea, finding work as a tutor, private investigator, or alchemist. He spend a 5-year stretch apprenticed to a shaman deep in the Mwangi expanse studying the alchemical effects of many of the jungle's plants. Finally, he found a home with the Pathfinder Society, which provided him with the fellowship he had always sought while indulging his life-long desire for travel.

Sovereign Court

I'm still struggling to settle on my 12th-level magus arcana. I'm sure I'll have it figured out by the gameday.

Scarab Sages

All good. Everyone can introduce their characters as well in Gameplay. Feel free to read each other's backgrounds as though you had time to learn and investigate each other.

Akyr Silvertusk's Character History:
Akyr’s mother was a favored concubine of Einmarch Henderthane, her exotic orcish ancestry only heightening her almost otherworldly beauty. So Akyr enjoyed the pampered life of a favored bastard child during his early years, receiving a well-rounded education while being a member of the Henderthane household. When the time came for Akyr to leave the nest, he earned a scholarship to attend the Kitharodian Academy In Oppara (or so he believes: his mother made a very generous anonymous donation to actually secure his position). While he was a competent actor, his real passion was music and dance. Unfortunately, he was never seen as a viable recruit for the Lion Blades--whether it was his half-orc or Chelish ancestry--but he graduated with honors, which brought him to the attention of Lady Gloriana Morilla, who had recently taken charge of the Sovereign Court faction and saw Akyr as a potential recruit who would be loyal to her.

Not long after he graduated, the devil Orxines wrought his vengeance upon Einmarch, but thankfully, his mother escaped unharmed, with her own nest egg to set her up in a comfortable home.

But Akyr wanted better for her, so he committed himself to getting her set up in the comfort and style she deserved. He quickly found opportunity among the dungeons beneath the Emerald Spire, using his fame and fortune to amass a sizable estate. During one of his final excursions beneath the Spire, Akyr fiddled with an ancient artifact, and emerged as a female half-orc. While a bit surprising, he quickly learned to embrace the change.
Now a Baron Baroness in the River Kingdoms, with his mother set up as “the Duchess,” Akyr continues to adventure to amass wealth and prestige to maintain his lavish holdings.
