Anyone using slow progression? Also, anyone want me to include any purchases on their chronicle sheet? speaking of which, when you take your chronicle sheet you will have one of two choices:
followers you can retain at any one time by 1. In addition, you may forgo rolling your Day Job at the end of a scenario to manage the fort’s operations, patrol the surrounding territory, and launch raids against the enemy. Doing so allows you to recover 1 Prestige Point as you earn the acclaim and support of the selected nation, though it does not increase your Fame score. Any Prestige Points in excess of your Fame must be spent immediately or are lost.
Note that the second boon is a vanity and will cost 15 PP to claim.

Cool! Man, that is the second Chronicle Goldur has earned that really wants him to be a wizard (the other grants a unique familiar option). I kinda really want to take the spells option, if only to lend out to other wizards, but apparently only wizards can copy spells to a spellbook. Then again, if that boon really does say "You may scribe these spells..." maybe that's allowed. Does anyone know if this works?
Also, I'm not on slow progression.

You have to have a spellbook in order to do this. You would have to take a dip into a class that actually does the whole spell copying thing. And this being core there is really only one class that can take advantage of the first boon.
I kind of like the second option. You recover a PP with EACH chronicle. Much better in the long run than a day job. Unfortunately with the 15 PP cost that means 5 levels minimum playing catch up which puts you at level 8 and with only 10 or so chronicles to take advantage of before you retire. meh.And it leaves you vulnerable with very few PP to deal with 'complications'. I would say, though, that if you plan to play this character as a seeker it will really pay off in the long run.
Sigh. They have a real hard time just giving out decent boons most of the time.

I mean, my super-Taldan viscount has the keep as part of his noble holdings and it has 100% paid for a Raise Dead before, over time... so also worthwhile if you have a character who does not have a Day Job but could spend time with the keep.
Aurus'll choose the keep!

The module is nearly at an end. I have been working on your chronicle sheets but need to know if the day job rolls you made stand or if you may/will be spending a reroll on them, any purchases you want me to record, and, of course, which boon you choose. Aurus is the only one that has picked so far.

I feel uncomfortable choosing rewards while we're still playing :-P
Like we say in the Netherlands "don't sell the fur before you've killed the bear."

Honestly, the book describes how Elessia is unable to extract the book without damaging it, but gives no instructions on how to extract the book. Whether or not you actually do the extraction, I'll end up giving you some story text; So, it is unnecessary to extract it yourselves and, in the end, it would be an exercise in creative role playing. In short, if it would be fun to RP the books extraction, go for it. If not, and you are suffering module fatigue, I will just skip to the summary and have fun RPing Alex.

Is the guy actually called Alex? That would be so weird as the author (who happens to be a friend of mine (namedrop)) is named Alex as well.

Here are your
chronicles. I also put a link at the top.
Let me know of any inevitable mistakes on the sheets.
I hope to do the wrap up post tonight but I may not since I will be running around doing road chores.

That comes up as Placeholder 23. Is that the correct character?

Yes
There was some trouble with standard/core, so his original number can't be used without paizo DB maintenance and I think they got bigger fish to fry so not going to bother them.

BOOM DRAGON DISCIPLE BABY!
Thank you very much for running, Miteke!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Thanks. I'm starting to gain some confidence, but I don't like that I'm crippled without the scenario in front of me for fear of being non PFS compliant. Even WITH the materials I still missed stuff and made mistakes. And I find I'm a fast player but a slower GM because I don't want to get it wrong.
But I took a look at previous runnings of the module and that made me feel a lot better. I'm a better writer than I've always given myself credit for :)

Thanks for running!
Travail PMmed me that he is back playing PBPs. He's currently playing in Hao Jin Cataclism. He was offering to run something for the group (although he was saying low level as he's not that confident yet.)

Sounds good to me :-)
Hmmm... Well, looking at the modules optimised for 5th/6th level PCs, I can see the following:
Short:
Broken Chains (6th)
Carrion Hill (5th)
From Shore to Sea (6th)
Long:
Down the Blighted Path (5th)
Seers of the Drowned City (6th)
Tears at Bitter Manor (5th)
The House on Hook Street (6th)
Thoughts?

I think he was talking people, not characters and low as in tier 1-2 and probably a scenario, not a module.

That'd be fine with me. Goldur is only 4th level now, not 5th, and I like swapping out characters anyway. I have a 2nd-level Core ranger or a 1st-level Standard paladin who could each use some more missions.

Hi Everybody!
Long time no see to Aurus and Uldar and Cloudia. Howdy to those I don't know.
Auke poked me and invited me to the thread.
A couple of options:
1) Wait until Travail finishes with Gameday--he'll be level 4 at that point
2) I could GM Tome of Righteous Repose (an Evergreen for levels 3-7
I'm pretty new to GMing, but Auke always sets me straight, and I work to make things extra creepy.

We haven't actually seen them yet, but there is a rumor.
The boy sure has grown. I feel like just yesterday he was falling off logs and getting pulled out of rivers.

Before I commit to anything, what level is everyone? I was hoping to run Tome low-tier core--so an APL of less than 4.5.
