Kalkamedes continues. He journeys north and then gradually gravitates to the northwest for two more hours. The light o f the sinking moon washes the sub-alpine valley ahead in silvery light. A squat, stone bunker crafted of dark rock sits nestled among the low trees, its domed roof barely peeking out from above the leafy canopy. As a cloud passes over the moon, the entire structure seems to fade from view, leaving a momentary void before the moon's light again illuminates it. Only a single entryway mars the smooth, windowless facade of the lone building.

Kalkamedes walks up to the entryway, A ten-foot wide stone archway, its keystone inscribed with a seven-pointed star wreathed in ancient markings, offers ingress into an unlit corridor built of cut stone blocks. Weathered script snakes its way up and down each side of
the entrance.

Thassilonian or Linguistics 20+:
"Enter the Black Edifice,
locus of the Thrallkeepers, servants of the Runelord
of Sloth."

Steep stairs descend into this room, whose only other entrance is sealed by a massive set of iron double doors that block passage to the east and rest upon a dais of glistening black stone. To the west stands a statue of an elderly, robed man carved from the same dark stone, and in his hand he brandishes a slender golden wand that points toward the
door. Ancient script winds around the statue's round base, and dried leaves, dirt, and small animal bones are scattered about the room.

Kalkamedes walks up to the door... and bumps into it. Repeatedly. The door does not open for him.

Thassilonian or Linguistics 20+:

Sadly, no. But assuming she takes twenty...

Standing on the Dias, Dolora feels a surge of strength, more than she's ever felt before. Steadying herself, she digs her feet, and PUSHES. It takes a minute, but slowly, the doors swing open, grinding as they swing out.

Suspended by thick chains, a massive metal cage shaped like a demon's head hangs over a dark shaft with no bottom in sight. The cage's door-by all appearances a menacing maw, filled with incisor-like fangs-hangs open to the west. There, a narrow bridge spans the short distance between the ledge and the cage. A small console on the north edge of the bridge
bears a single lever.

Kalkamedes walks into the cage and stands still, as if waiting for the rest of the crew to join him in the decent below....

Going to move on and assume after some arguing, you agree to do so.

You ride the cage down hundreds of feet until you reach the bottom, as you step out, Palm-sized shards of jagged steel jut from halfway up the walls of this large cavern, bathing the cavern with a dark green light. A set of natural rock columns support the chamber's ceiling, which rises to a height of twenty feet. A small tunnel leads to the northeast, and several rounded alcoves branch off.

Kalkamedes steps forward, walking along. As he turns the corner, the team sees a circular alcove buds off from the larger cavern to
the north. An elaborate set of concentric circles inscribed
in dull metal of different colors occupies much of the space
within the room. Within it sits a gnome, who is dressed in threadbare clothes and has an unkempt mane of fuchsia hair. He sees them, and turns to run towards them, but stops as if at an invisible wall. He leans against it and shouts.

OVER HERE! OVER HERE! BY THE GODS PLEASE, OVER HERE, LET ME OUT!

Kalkamedes ignores him, walking slowly past him towards another crevase deeper in the cave.

COME ON MAN, DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! YOU GUYS, YOU GUYS WILL LET ME OUT WON'T YOU?! PLEASE, I'M GOING INSANE IN HERE!

there, lying in a circle similar to the one that holds the gnome, is a beautiful woman. She is bruised, dirty, and her shirt is ripped off of one shoulder where she has tied it into a make shift bandage for her arm. She is clearly breathing, but doesn't look in the best shape.

HEY, IF YOUR GOING TO IGNORE ME, CAN YOU AT LEAST TELL ME IF THE GAL IS DOING OKAY? SHE STOPPED TALKING A WHILE BACK AND I'M KINDA WORRIED!

Kalkamedes stands in front of the alcove, unmoving. Apparently, this is his goal.

A quick survey of the room shows that the two alcoves do not allow the prisoners, for that is clearly what they are, to see each other. Behind them, the team sees a third alcove. A deep pool occupies much of this alcove. Suspended particles of dust cloud the stagnant water, but barely visible at the bottom are several dozen strange bones from otherworldly creatures.

Felix follows Kalkemedes and the others. When the prisoners begin to plead for release he looks for some advice from Gamin. what do you think, Gamin. Do you know these folks?

Gamin is silent for a moment.

Gotta admit, bit conflicted me boy. On the one hand, it's wrong to leave someone to rot alone. On the other hand, you usually end up in a prison for one reason or another.

The gnome sighs and leans against his "Cage".

Like, interrupting a bunch of cultists for one of the runelords? Feels like it was ages ago... your boy over there looks like one of our party members actually. Spitting image in fact. To young to be Johannous though.

Myth feels like the gnome is telling the truth.

He takes a look at the woman, and she seems pretty beat up. Bruises, claw marks, ect. Some armor and a sword lies near her... it looks like she had the time to take it off, set it aside, and then bandage some of her wounds to staunch the bleeding before passing out... assuming she did it on her own of course.

Myth looks to his companions. ”She needs healing...one of you healer types can use my wand if you wish...”

The gnome whines.

Come on... I ain't that ugly am i? And a wand? I can use a PROPER spell and have her up in no time, rather than you sitting around all day futzing with a wand.

Completely ignoring the gnome, Dolora tentatively steps into the woman's cell. "I should be able to get back out if this goes wrong, but be ready to help me if I need it"

She approaches the woman and carefully reaches forward to touch her with her healing wand.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Just using a couple charges, don't want to heal her up too much if she's hostile
