Bones looks to his glib tongued companions to sort this out, but nods that he thinks this can work...
Krara Ne'Korm
|
Krara's fist instintively clenches as the pair casually mentions bartering for Hurondo. With great effort, the vesk unclenches her claw, slowly. These fools are honorless, but their ignorance could not have stolen a seasoned warrior. Discretion, to find the true, clever[/i] traitor[/i]
She speaks, tersely, trying to maintain her temper. Please. If what you say is true, a meet should be arraigned.
Would a social roll be needed here for them to set up a meet?
Bones'
|
"Let's bargain with Bargai... Bargai does know how to speak? It does not just bark?"
Bones'
|
»Deaf... at least he doesn’t have to hear my crap. Small consolation, I know . »
Bones shares his comm info.
Vroom Boom
|
Vroom stands by, reading the brochure the entire time.
Just checking in. I don't have much I can do for social except lie.
Bones'
|
"I'll wait, but also because I cannot follow anyone discreetly..."
Krara Ne'Korm
|
Krara turns to the bantrid. Vroom. You say you are quite fast. Are you also subtle as well?
To Freeman: I would like to be able to rescue this taken Hurundo ourselves. But should the gods turn their eyes from us and we end up with him, perhaps logging this news in a report would be good. The vesk scratches her chin with a claw. We may also ask around about this 'Bargai'. While we wait for a call, perhaps we can learn where he lairs. And meet with him more impromptly.
Potentially using Diplomacy to try and gather info and maybe an address for Brgai or the Uniters?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
| GM Sasha |
Krara, people have heard of the Uniters but do not know where their base is.
You are contacted about ten minutes later by an unknown code. "Hello Starfinders, I am Geoffrey. I will be the intermediary between yourselves and Bargai......She would like to get straight to the point.....We will release Hurondo for ten thousand credits..."
Krara Ne'Korm
|
I agree. But the challenge will be to ensure Hurondo is there. And that they even have him in the first situation! Krara says. Leaning over towards Bones, she asks the dwarf to text/walkie a reply: Unsure exactly what method they communicated us with.
10,000 credits? We are talking about a shobad, not a Vanex freighter! And how are we assured Huronod is with you and well?
Bones'
|
Bones goes along with sharing the conversation, and letting all answer.
| GM Sasha |
You are sent a picture of a Shobad tied to a bed. The Shobad seems unharmed and quite at ease. Though, the bed and room looks a little ramshackle.
I imagine that the communication devices are similar to cell phones except moderately more advanced. So anything that one could do with a cell phone, should be easily possible in SF.
Bones'

Bones hides his memes of talking donkeys and shares the picture.
»Could be our man... »
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan nods to Bones. "It certainly is possible. Can we trust what this Geoffrey is saying?"
Krara Ne'Korm
|
Almost certainly not. Krara says. If they are dishonorable to resort to kidnapping, they could easily mean to betray us.
But they do seem to have Hurundo. She frowns. Should we try to talk this Geoffrey down in credits, to make it appear we are truly interested in a deal? Or should we try to meet as soon as possible so we can discover where they are? Of course, they will likely try to trade in a different location...
Bones'
|
"So... I think we all agree that we will set up a meet?
But do we try to track them down between now and then?
Do we try to bring the 10.000 Credits, which we do not have I imagine?
Or do we know we will not make an exchange, but attack them?"
Klaathu
|
" ..we could inquire with the Starfinder Society if they have and wish to pay for the funds for the ransom but we expect them to say that we will pay them with violence.."
Bones'
|
"Let's get info' then, great idea!"
Bones'
|
"Aye, you a smart Dwarf, Freeman!", says Bones, amazed at how the computer is being skillfully used.
I cannot Aid Another here
| GM Sasha |
Freeman scans the local infonet for anything he can find about the Uniters. He finds next to nothing for a long while, only a promotional post here and a speculative post there. After about two hours he finally finds a series of posts on a very out-of-the-way forum by a 'nitersU' responding to another poster that specifies a route to their HQ via landmarks in the Spike.
Bones'
|
"Aye, me brother, I'm as gentle a being as there are, and I'll go check that out!"
Bones'
|
"Then let's go get our fellow Starfinder out this predicament! Too much trauma!"
TheFreeman
|
Freeman smiles at Krara, "Aye. I be thinking they may be a smaller time organization than they let on to be. I'm fine with either door but shall we do this subtly or aggressively?"

Zaldekan Dakayo

"It's quiet," Zaldekan murmurs. Zoomy floats close by, display dimmed. :o
Added tokens to the map.
Bones'
|
Traveling. On phone. Will add token later. Sorry.
Bones looks around to scope things out...
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
| GM Sasha |
The apartment building is a ramshackle structure with a hanging sign in the one window, indicating in various languages that the building is scheduled
for demolition. The front entrance door hangs crookedly in its frame, and graffiti—both
fresh and half-scrubbed—adorns the walls.
A second entrance, a fire escape, is accessible from the western side of the building via a small metal staircase behind.
The windows shown on the map have been boarded over with plastic and wooden planks.
TheFreeman
|
"Alright, hard through the front door, sneak through the fire exit? Once in do we go hard core or try to intimidate them to surrender?"
Bones'
|
"We intimidate them. They say no. We go hard core."
