Zaldekan Dakayo

Zaldekan directs Zoomy to fly away from the group, then places his weapons on the ground. He averts his eyes as he addresses Razda.
"You are with friends. Everything will be all right."

Vroom Boom also keeps his weapons away on his person. "Hey look, no trouble, I am like you myself. I was rescued from the Scoured Stars by a Nuar by the name of Duhm Kaoh, he helped me find a job. Anyone here is willing to help you."

The male vesk removes his head from his hands and looks at the crew with sad eyes. "I need to go in there. I want to sleep."
"Yeah, let's go Razda," the female vesk says warmly and starts leading him to the doors of the Respite. After a few steps, Svata gingerly steps away from Razda and quickly walks back to Krara. "Thank you for helping him. You must be Starfinders for him to have that reaction. We came from the Spike where a new clinic claims to have a perfect success rate treating clients who have experienced trauma. Razda hasn't left the Scoured Stars, we thought that a clinic close to home was perfect. Unfortunately we couldn't seem to find it so we headed here. The Lorespire reminds him too much of before, but I'm hopeful that the Respite will be the best place for him. Here," she says pulling out and handing Krara an item, "Razda won't be needing this anymore, you should try to make use of it." She hands you a red star solar brand.
Krara Ne'Korm
|
I was not doing it for reward. Krara says even as she accepts the brand presenting armaments is a gift not to be belittled. But constant battle can drown out even the fiercest warriors. From what I have head of those Stars... She looks at Vroom and cuts herself off.
I hope that this place can gice him rest, so his scales shine bright once more.
As the two vesk begin to step away, Krara looks down at the excitably bantrid. These Scoured Stars: was it truly as bad as they whisper of?
Bones'
|
"So, what? We try to locate this semi-secret place in the Spike? Thinking that's where he went..."
TheFreeman
|
Freeman walks by Krara, "It was pretty bad. many of us were caught in a living hell for a long time..."
He stops near Bones, "Well, we should find this Respite place and talk to that Ysoki first but that did sound like a lead..."
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan ponders.
"That clinic seems suspicious. A perfect success rate? Seems improbable."
Zoomy returns to Zaldekan's side from one of the corners of the room.

Klaathu

Klaathu looks around and figures it might not be such a good idea to press on with his inquirers or try to physically touch one of the what are obviously patients and possibly end up causing them mental harm and joins the others.
"I agree, we should try to find someone who can tell us where our missing person could possibly be"
Bones'

»Into Respite first, then... »
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan nods in agreement. "Let's go speak with Jiwalla."
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan goes through the double door leading farther into the Respite, Zoomy in tow.
| GM Sasha |
To the right is a large room that contains multiple types of vidgames, old fashioned card and board games, and several extremely comfortable pieces of furniture. A coffee machine and a platter containing various finger foods commonly enjoyed by several Pact Worlds species sit atop a table near the door. A female korasha lashunta rests in one of the chairs with her arms on the table and her head in her arms. Also, you can spot a door a little farther down the hallway an engraved brass nameplate on the door, Hurondo. Farther down the hallway it turns to the left and people’s voices and light music can be heard from that direction.

Entering with his comrades, Bones looks around, and waves to the scarred android.

He moves in and starts collecting some trash.

Krara Ne'Korm
|
Krara looks around inside at the calm if tight facility. While Vroom and Bones speak to a few of the inhabitants, her own eyes land on the plaqued door ahead.
In VeskIf Hurondo's departure was planned, he may have left a message or note within his office. Krara then leads by example and moves down the hallway towards the marked door. Reaching it, she knocks lightly. Then, with a quick glance to either side of the hall if no one answers, she will attempt to enter.

Krara's logic makes perfect sense to Klaathu (even not understanding what is being said) and the Barathu floats after Krara taking a quick look for clues before attempting to enter

Looking for things like break in signs on the door, traps or sounds coming from inside before we bust in there
| GM Sasha |
I love it when groups split up in Starfinder!
The Android looks up at you with a comforting expression as they pause their cleaning, ”Thank you. I am Bygones-B, would you like to receive counseling services?”
The lashunta addresses you without rarely moving in a defeated sounding voice, ”Hurondo's gaming sessions have ben cancelled today.”
The door opens right up and no one sees or hears any traps or alarms. there are no signs of any problems from the outside. Inside, a holographic interface displays a newsfeed from the infosphere, currently playing a short segment describing several of the Respite’s missing clients and instructing viewers to report any sightings of these people to the center. Several holographic projections on the walls display images commemorating Hurondo’s service to the Starfinder Society; the largest shows a continuous loop of a ribbon cutting ceremony outside the Healing Arches attended by Jiwalla, Hurondo, Zigvigix, First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo, and a small group of other high-ranking Starfinders. Other than that, it looks like a standard, clean office.

"Look, we have discovered several datapads containing the personal information of various creatures, including photos and addresses associated with several temporary residences in the Spike" Klaathu telepathically tells the others in the room as it shows the found datapads.
"We think we just found a clue on where to look next if we don't discover anything else while we are here"
Vroom Boom
|
Vroom, after hearing that is the extent of her woes, rolls away backwards slowly on his spherical foot while not addressing it any further.
After that he catches up to Krara. "Apparently that lady's woes are that the game-sesh with Horundo was cancelled."
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan's interest is piqued by the vidgame room. He follows Vroom Boom into the room and overhears the conversation. After Vroom leaves, Zaldekan approaches the lashunta.
"Hello there. I'm sorry to hear that your gaming session has been canceled. If you were looking for someone else to play with you, I could help out, if you'd like."
Klaathu
|
"We would like to suggest to start at the top of this list and work our way down until we come across something of interest"
TheFreeman
|
"Aye. We should. Let's see if anyone has found any sign of this Ysoki we're looking for as well."
Freeman follows the others out of the room to go find the rest of the group...
| GM Sasha |
The Android looks at you with a slightly sad expression, " I am sorry, I do not know. You might ask Jiwalla those questions. Is there any other ways I may assist you? Do your friends want to receive counseling services?”
The lashunta lifts her head and opens her eyes, ”Thank you for the offer, but it’s not the same without Hurondo.” Her voice trails off as she lays her head back in her hands.

Bones will come back out, and join up with the others.
Zaldekan Dakayo

Zaldekan then heads down the hallway to join up with the others.
Vroom Boom
|
Vroom catches up with Zaldekan. "Well, I am unfortunately not as good at investigation as I am at other talents. Did you find out anything?"
Klaathu
|
Klaathu displays the found datapads for the others to see
"We have discovered a clue on where Hurondo might go if he's not here or someone might know where Hurondo could have gone. We suggest we go down this list and check for more clues"
Bones'
|
"What kind of list is this?"
| GM Sasha |
You see a small workout area where you hear the sounds coming from. Jiwalla Zarvim is in there, she looks to be currently exercising by sparring with a male kasatha. Jiwalla howls a squeaky victory cry and performs a combat maneuver to twist two of the kasatha’s arms behind his back. After that she pats the kasatha on the back warmly, grabs a towel and comes over to you. While panting from the exertion, ”Hey, you’re a Starfinder right? Where’s the rest of your team?”
Krara Ne'Korm
|
Yes. Yes I am the vesk says, extending a clawed hand out to the ratfolk. Krara Ne'Krom. That was an impressive manuever, I must say.
Krara calls out down the hall. Zaldekan! Vroom! Bones! Jiwalla is down here! looking at the ysoki as hopefully the others join her, Krara continues. It is a shame to have come for somber news instead of a spar, but we have heard your friend Hurondo has gone missing.
Bones'
|
Bones moves down to where Krara is, saying "Hello" to Jiwalla.
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
Zaldekan and Zoomy follow Krara's voice down the hallway. Entering the room, Zaldekan and Zoomy each give a slight bow in unison. "Greetings, Jiwalla."
| GM Sasha |
Jiwalla nods and begins explaining, ”Many of the Respite’s regular clients have recently stopped visiting the center for treatment. I knew Hurondo was planning on leaving several days ago to check on a couple of the missing visitors in person at the temporary residences in the Spike where their vouchers were redeemed. Hey, before you head that way, would like to compete with me? I believe physical activity is a necessary part of the mental health services the Respite offers, and I like to push myself to excel. Plus, little friendly competition is always good for morale."
If you agree then they may compete against Jiwalla during three different activities; weight-lifting, endurance rowing, and a sprinting race. You are not allowed to aid another during the competition. The result of the weight- lifting competition can be determined with an opposed Strength check; the character with the highest Strength check result (including modifiers) wins. The rowing competition consists of attempting a series of three Athletics checks each while operating stationary rowing machines set to a high resistance. Each time a character fails one of these checks, they take a cumulative –3 penalty on subsequent Athletics checks to row. Add up each competitor’s three checks, and the highest sum wins. The sprinting race takes place in the hallway and is resolved by each participating character attempting separate Acrobatics and Athletics checks and then adding the results together. The character with the highest sum wins the race.

"Fun! A healthy mind in a healthy body."
Bones will removed his armor, and start by sitting at the rowing machine and going for it--
Athletics 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Athletics 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 apply the -3's, do not know the DC
Athletics 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
--but he is not very happy with his performance.
"Not much rowing in the mines..."
Then, all warmed up, Bones tries out the weight lifting---
Weight Lifting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
--and is very happy!
"More used to lifting things in the mines..."
Then Bones starts running--
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 23
--with his short stumpy legs.
TheFreeman

Freeman shrugs his shoulders. "Why not?"
He attempts to lift some weights...
strength: 1d20 ⇒ 16
"Ah, better than I thought... Wow, look at you, Bones! packing some muscle there!"
He then sits at the rowing machine...
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
"Welll. whew. I'm winded. Don't do much rowing.."
Lastly, a foot race.
Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
"Ah! Better, hehe, still winded. My time on the Hell planet did teach me to run!" He says, followed by a healthy belly laugh and then a few coughs.
"I think I need some water, maybe a steak... a whole chicken and a cake now..."
Zaldekan Dakayo
|
"Ah, um, I guess so!" Zaldekan stammers.
Zaldekan walks up to the weightlifting station, takes a deep breath, and then strains to move the weight.
Zal takes his seat at the rowing machine and begins to row, getting in to the rhythm of the motion.
Athletics 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Athletics 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Apply the –3 penalties as you will!
Zaldekan lines up at the hallway, then takes off! (By his standards, at least)
Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Winded, panting, Zal collapses on the ground, Zoomy hovering overhead.

Krara Ne'Korm

Hey, before you head that way, would like to compete with me? I believe physical activity is a necessary part of the mental health services the Respite offers, and I like to push myself to excel. Plus, little friendly competition is always good for morale."
I would be honored! Krara beams at the ysoki's suggestion. With regimens such as yours I understand why Respite has developed such a strong reputation!
Spending some time to take off her armor and strip down to her stationwear. As she approaches the weights, the vesk inhales deeply before lifting up the bars with a jerk.
Str: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
It has been too long she says as she sets the weights down and moves to the rowing machine. She adjusts the seat to accommodate her tall frame. Since I have met someone with such an effusive belief in a strong regimen of activity to clear the mind. It is refreshing.
Row: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Row: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Row your boat: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
No idea on which may have the penalty here, so apply away as needed.
Feeling good after the first two 'events', Krara moves to the end of the hallway with confidence. At the jump, the vesk gets off to a furious start. However, the initial sprint comes back to haunt her, and she lags significanctly in the last leg.
Run (Athletics): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Krara, Run (Acrobatics): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
A most...exhilarating...competition. she growls out as she catches her breath.[/b]
