Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Von-Dai Cress
Von-Dai calls out, "Perhaps, sir, we could speak instead of fight. What is your name?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
While I don't expect this to work, I figure that, apart from getting the passphrase wrong, we haven't done anything hostile, so maybe we can talk our way through.
GM_Grandlounge
Perception in excess of 20 can locate invisible targets. Counts as a move action though.
Searhing for anything intentionally is a move action. The 20 DC is just the presence (get a hunch there is something there), but you are ready know that he is here. Next, you know the square for now is they already moved this round.
Von-Dai Cress
With the guard apparently unwilling to speak, Von-Dai shrugs and casts a spell, causing a burst of glitter to appear behind the pillar he moved behind.
Casting glitterdust.
"Marcus, do you think you can lift the portcullis?"
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli watches carefully, looking for signs of danger as his companions try to open the gate.
GM_Grandlounge
The portcullis remained fixed in place but seems theoretically moveable or breakable.
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Though blinded the man cast Displacement on himself.
The team is up.
Marcus Stanic
Normally I'm inclined to have an adamantine weapon for this kind of circumstances, but do not as yet. I could try to lift it again, but we were over 20 with the assist already, and if that failed, it probably means a 25+ which means I need a ridiculous roll. Any suggestions?
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Can we see the figure well enough to attack (through the grate?)
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli says, "I imagine if we deal with the Guardian we could cut our way through... But trying to do it now would leave us exposed."
Von-Dai Cress
On the one hand, his AC is probably pretty low while he's blinded. On the other hand, he's got that 50% concealment from displacement. Glitterdust at least makes it hard for him to be sneaky.
Von-Dai draws on his arcane bond and casts another spell, this time targeting the gate itself, trying to destroy it. Cast shatter (DC 17 will negates). I can destroy up to a single 50 lb. nonmagical object. I don't know if this will work or not, but it's something.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyeili considers for a moment, then begins to cast a spell, attempting to strip the Guardian's magical protection.
Targeted Dispel (against Displacement): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
GM_Grandlounge
The enemy's defences vanish at the same moment that Von destroys one bar from the portcullis.
You can now move through the narrow space with a DC 15 acrobatics or escape artist check.
Von-Dai Cress
”Sevrus, is there a winch to open the portcullis over there?”
GM_Grandlounge
The blind man tries ineffectively to rub the dust from his eyes.
Will: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Marcus makes some progress but it is a long way before the bars break.
Sevrus the glitterdust can only blind you when it is cast so you can move into the area without a problem.
GM_Grandlounge
You notice a lock on this but it looks like a very good lock that will take many rounds to pick.
Von-Dai Cress
Go for the attack. The rest of us can try to slip through.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Are the gaps in the bars wide enough to fire through -- I've already used an L3 spell, so I'm a little nervous about throwing more magic around -- but I'm imagining arrows can get through the grate better than I can. ;)

If you are beside the gate you are fine further back and there is the cover.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli moves up, sliding his bow off his shoulder as he does, and fires an arrow at the figure before his companions can engage it, but his hurried shot goes wide.
Comp Shortbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
GM_Grandlounge
Marcus keeps hacking away.
1d8 ⇒ 81d2 ⇒ 2
The blinded enemy moves randomly 'toward' the group and attacks blindly. He manages to strike into Sevrus's general direction but misses.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 201d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 10
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The guardian moves behind the pillar and vanishes.
The Bold may act.

He’s still sparkly for the duration, taking a -40 penalty to Stealth. He really can’t vanish.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Von-Dai tries to slip through the gap.
GM_Grandlounge
Sorry, the vanish was a carry-over from the previous post I forgot to delete.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyeli, cursing the pillar, slides the bow onto his shoulder and then shifts forward to slip through the gap, while unraveling the scarf from his neck.
Because I didn't drop the bow, I don't have a move action to attack now, sadly.
GM_Grandlounge
Marcus raddles the bars for the third time. He is making progress but there is a long way to go.
The enemy clumsily avoids Sevrus's attacks. Von easily makes it through the bars while Zeltiyeli prepares for melee.
The blinded enemy strikes out at Sevrus wildly. He is obviously skilled with the blade but the blindness keeps her safe.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 271d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 24
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 9
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The man can't seem to shake Von's spell.
The Bold may act (Round 4).

Through the grate, 'tiyeli uses the gift of speed to race around the other side, providing flanking for Sevrus as he attacks with his scarf.
Sorry, realized I misspoke (er, typed) last round - Had the move action to go through the grate, but no standard after stowing a weapon to draw another... So I assumed I was just on the "right" side of the grate after the check last round - and fortunately, Zeltiyeli moves 40'
Bladed Scarf (Flanking): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 = 27 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Von-Dai Cress
Von-Dai pulls out a flask of acid and pours it on the lock, trying to destroy it so he can open the gate.
Move action to draw a flask of acid, standard to pour it on the lock.
GM_Grandlounge
Marcus raddles Hammers away at the bars. Von pours acid on the lock (pathfinder rules it basically can to damage but we will say it does full damage bypassing dr because it is the right acid on the right metal)
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Von thinks he has made lifting the gate significantly easier given the weakened state of the lock.
Sevrus and Zeltiyeli both land solid blows.
The blinded enemy strikes out at Sevrus missing twice more.
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 241d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 12
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 58
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The blindness proves resiliant.

"Marcus, try lifting the gate again! I've managed to weaken the lock."
Von-Dai turns and casts a spell, flinging bolts of force unerringly at the swordsman.
Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) + 3 = 12
Glitterdust ends at the start of my turn in Round 6.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli swings again with his scarf, trying to end the threat as quickly as we can.
Bladed Scarf (Flanking): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 = 30 Threat
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 = 18 Maybe? Being blind and therefore flatfooted might be helpful..
Regular Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Plus Critical?: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
GM_Grandlounge
With the combined efforts of a bladed scarf, flanking, deadly accuracy, blindness and unerring magic the man falls limp.
