OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT

Pathfinders have started pushing back against the horde in the Egelsee and Outer districts
Condition Yellow in both locations

Spell Templates by GM Tiger | Citadel Core | Core To Scale the Dragon |

Gordy summons forth a much more solid water-hammer than the half-orc expected as it slams into him with excessive force, the sound of bones cracking is clearly heard. Yet... the enemy does not fall, even if unable to act due to the mental assault.

The remaining crowd bolts down the alley, away from combat. A few don't want to risk running through a battle zone and huddle behind red robe.

I'm assuming no one knows Orcish, so I'll continue their chatter but not put the translation unless someone advises differently.

Blue robe yells, "tlhab SoH toDSaH Suq jIH!" The half-orc with the yellow sash replies with a sarcastic tone, "vabDot nabmaj SoH? SoHvaD vISuqrup tlhab tugh. nIS wa' HoH neH." With that, he slashes at Torston and then steps to the side, closer to blue cloak.

GM Screen:
Mwk Greataxe by Yellow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 for Slashing: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

His axe misses again, Torsten being too quick on his feet to hit.

Red casts a quick spell, shimmering energy surrounding him for a brief second and he pulls out a longbow. Blue struggles to escape the net...

GM Screen:
Escape Artist DC 20: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

...and he manages to do so by slipping the net over his head and it falls to his feet. He turns and gives a crude gesture towards the grippli and laughs!

An entangled creature can escape with a DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action). A net is useful only against creatures within one size category of you.

As Flip and Big Sky turn around, Flip notices that the mage is no longer dressed in his net. "Hey! People don't usually escape my nets so quickly!"

Flip flies low enough that the building provides some cover against Red's bow.

Torsten takes a mighty hack at the half-orc in front of him, slashing through his pitiful armor into thick meat. The orc groans in pain but does not fall. (Crit did not confirm)

Guy dashes forwards and deftly steps around the dazed and severely injured half-orc, who is now surround completely by pathfinders. As his clouded mind fails, the lady on the ship slowly makes her way down the gangplank and twiddles her finders again, attempting to do the same mind trick to the other half-orc.

The sturdy and hard to hit dwarf moves away from the dazed half-orc and sidles up next to the red-robed caster with an evil-smiting grin in his eye. With only a long-bow out, the caster just looks on in horror as Torston's axe slashes into his body, leaving a large gash.

The flippant frog guides his mount over towards his fallen comrade, pulling a wand and activating it. Dana's eyes flutter open and as her innate healing power kicks in, she feels consciousness flooding back.

At the same time, Guy fires his bow at the now major threat to the group, but his arrow flies wide as at the last moment, he has to adjust for Gordy being in the way.

Without such concern, Gordy blasts the enemy away with a burst of water. His body crumpling to the ground and eyes rolling into unconsciousness.

Taniian moves down the dock towards Dana and unleashes bolts of mystic force once he can see the other half-orc.

You hear some orcish yelling and then the half orc turns towards the remaining caster and it looks like he is going to hack him in two with his axe. At the last second though, the sharp implement merely chops the net in two.

The caster flinches then looks down at his free hands and nods to the half-orc before pulling a scroll and casting a spell. The alleyway fills with a thick fog.

The two conscious enemies will flee next round which gives you success in this encounter. Do you wish to chase or try to stop them? We can keep playing this out if you wish. If so, initiative is still going. I don't want to stop players enjoyment of finishing out combat, but I also don't want to drag things any further than necessary. I'll give you all at least a few hours to decide and then go with the majority. I'll also be posting in discussion some information about resupply/healing options available between encounters. And I know a lot of you were yelling questions at the enemies wondering why the heck they were attacking, I'll give some of those answers once combat ends.

Success Reported!!!

Guy's song clears the air and Gordy takes advantage of it to strike the half-orc down. Seeing his ally fall so brutally, blue robe shrugs off all his weapons and gear, surrendering. He pleads, "please don't kill me! It was just a mission!!! Come on, you all understand! The payout for that load of artifacts would have been insane!"

I'm happy to finish up RP here as we move on to the next thing.

1) Yes, there is time to cast mending and fix the net (5 HP needed for full repair). There will be about 30 minutes in between each encounter.

2) Does anyone wish to stop for healing/a weapon/or 10 projectiles?

3) If still injured I'd suggest using consumables, but for brevity just make the rolls and mark the charges used off your character profile or however you track those things. We have at least one person who can activate wands of CLW without issue so no need to worry too much about that.

4) Do you all wish to stay in the outer district or move to one of the other 4 sections in town? Check the fancy district map (top of campaign) for the status in all 5 areas.

Flip, I should be able to repair that cut in your net. It will just take a little time.

Once things are settled, Guy casts mending on the net.

Taniian accepts the surrender and checks that all weapons and magic items are removed from the four miscreants. He also binds hands to make sure no magic gestures are available and after stabilizing any who need it would also gag all except Blue.

"Who sent you? What was your mission? What do you know of today's activities and the attack?"

Don’t forget to ask about what load of artifacts!” Guy shouts to Taniian.

Then it is back to moving people to the ship.
Alright, we handled the miscreants. Hopefully the rest of you just want to get to safety. Form a line, let’s keep calm. We just demonstrated our ability to protect all of you!

He does the checking for magic since Taniian is busy with the prisoners. He once again has the noble and his body guards help keep the crowd calm and orderly.

The bound mage replies, "look, I'm sure you saw some stuff when you took all our gear. We are Aspis Agents and we've been casing this transport for weeks. The plan was going to be to hit them at night after they left port, but then this little demon invasion occurred and well, chaos breeds opportunity. We rounded up a pack of people hiding in a church, telling them about the last ship in the harbor getting ready to leave and boom, we've got our cover. It just didn't work out." I'll post what gear they had in discussion, take and use as much as you want.

He smiles at you all, "but hey, you guys work together great as a team! If you ever get a bit disallusioned with the organization that pretends to be good all the time, there are plenty of opportunities to make some good money over here. Look me up if I haven't been hanged by then."

Guy finishes his mending, the net is no longer destroyed though still damaged. The pathfinders watch as the ship leaves the port and gets safely under way. They escort their prisoners back towards the citadel, dumping them off with the guards with a simple explanation. The guards assure you they will be locked securely away to await trial once the city is safe.

With that resolved, they here rumors that the Confluence district is still in chaos and head out.

_____________________________________________________

As they move out into the district, they see first hand the kind of chaos, as a group of fleeing crusaders pass by and beg, “By the gods, it’s horrible! This big, fat, scaly reptile-demon let loose these awful monstrosities with the help of some cultists. They must have been raising them inside for who knows how long! The demon said they would herald in a new polluted dawn, whatever that means!”

“Look, we’re not prepared to fight them—we’re running, and you might be smart to flee as well.”

Flee or Investigate? If investigate, Perception checks please.
