I can hold.

Grand Lodge

Hello everyone. Sorry to hold everything up. I'm going to switch out the playtest character D'Gavin for a pregen. I'll be up and ready in a day or so.

Destiny | Guardian's Covenant (Table 2) | On the Trail of History

Glad to still have you with us, Dax Thura! Looks like we will have our four and can get started up again soon.

Grand Lodge

So I've been trying to work out which pre-gen I wanted to play and took a look at all your character sheets. I've come to the conclusion that we are screwed.

Dr Buse: Gunnery +0
Ukigashk Gunnery +3, Piloting +2
AMOSU: Computer +9, Engineering +9, Gunnery +2, Piloting +8
Iseph: Computer +6, Engineering +6, Gunnery +5, Piloting +10

I think that Piloting is very important; we can go without a captain
I suggest
Captain: None
Gunner 1: Ukigashk
Gunner 2: Dr Buse
Pilot: Iseph
Engineer/SO: AMOSU

Male Vesk Vanguard / 1 | SP11/11 : HP 14/14 : RP 4/4 | EAC 14 : KAC 15 | F +5 : R +4 : W +0 | Init +6 : Perc +6 | STR +1, DEX +2, CON +3, INT +0, WIS +0, CHA +0 | Speed 30 : SM +0

I can work with that. I didn't really investigate the Character sheets that in depth before I had Ukigashk suggest he should be the pilot, so we can have an "hours of seat time" discussion or something in the game thread and Ukigashk will move to gunnery.

Correct!

But I like the setup you picked, everything looks good.

I'm good with the tasks. I haven't done starship rounds yet... Can I switch between engineering and science officer during turns, or once I pick it's set for the scene? I'm open to suggestions, if it's set, as to which would be more useful.

Should we, and can we, use NPC's as filler? As an androgynous android, AMOSU is not sure getting screwed is a good thing...

Destiny | Guardian's Covenant (Table 2) | On the Trail of History

PCs can switch between rounds to different roles. This next quest shouldn't be too tough, especially for those who have played it before. The last one will be more difficult, although the party has already earned some clues that will help.

Grand Lodge

You decide your position at the beginning of each round. At any time there can be only one captain and one pilot, but more than one person can man the other positions. As many gunners as there are guns, though not every gun may have a target to fire at.There is no limit to the limit of engineers and science officers, but each specific action can only be performed once each turn.

The rules of the Starfinder Society prevent us from utilizing NPCs unless they are presented in the scenario or you have a boon that allows it. We're on our own here.

Sorry about missing the whole weekend, had a VERY busy Saturday and health issues Sunday that made screen time unbearable.

No problem. I hope you are feeling better. My week is packed and frontloaded work wise, so I myself anticipate that I may not keep up with my self-imposed once-a-day minimum post schedule over the next few days.

Destiny | Guardian's Covenant (Table 2) | On the Trail of History

Sorry, likely be no update until tomorrow.

Just curious, since we are on the verge of death... this is my first character in that position.

This is seeming to be complicated by the fact that it's a playtest character with the Chronicle going to another character.

IF we end up dead... what/how does that get resolved.

My apologies for not knowing, I have only built 3 characters and only have a whopping 4 adventures under my belt.

Destiny | Guardian's Covenant (Table 2) | On the Trail of History

@ Ukigashk - The starship battle is still winnable. Also, if your starship reaches 0 hull points, it is not destroyed. Core Rulebook, pg. 320-321. So, there is no immediate danger of the PCs dying, even if they lose the starship battle.

You may also take comfort in the fact that the Corpse Fleet doesn't want your body parts scattered throughout the Drift. They would much rather have you each die in a way that keeps your body intact... for recruitment purposes. ; P

In the event that the PCs do die, then the rules for death of a pregen would apply. The "death" condition would have to be resolved by paying credits and/or Fame and/or any applicable boons. If the PC cannot do so, then the character is dead. See Starfinder Roleplaying Guild Guide, pp 7-8.

Sorry for holding up the game. I really thought I had posted. I'll post again when I get home in a few hours.

Not a problem. I have had a few posts disappear lately too. I just wanted to keep things moving and, since you had made clear Iseph's piloting strategy, it seemed reasonable to do under the circumstances.

As for the Final Quest...

Please note that the party has a newer, higher tier ship with more weapons. Feel free to assign starship roles as you choose.

I'm usually not one to give players advice, but if I were, I might say something to the effect that, after filling the role of Pilot, it rarely hurts to be able to bring as many guns to bear as possible (even if other roles may be abandoned for a round or two).

Weapons mount coordination?

Ukigashk can take care of whatever weapon, just let me know preferences.

If we're sticking to two people on the guns, I'll take the coilgun and you can have the missiles? Once we're out of those you switch to that and I'd move to the appropriate arc. If we have another gunner, I can go straight to the single-arc weapon.

Grand Lodge

I suggest for the first volley or two that we have everyone not a pilot be a gunner. Fire everything we have to quickly do as much damage as we can. After that, someone can move to engineer.

AMOSU will definitely take the third firing option, and might actually do ok. I forgot that you can use Pilot in place of BAB. I'll kick over to Engineer or Science if something goes withershins.

Chronicles are up!

Please let me know if any changes or corrections. I will put this thread on inactive in a week or once I have confirmation from everyone that the chronicles look good.

Thanks again, everyone, for playing! I look forward to sharing a table with each of you in the future.
