[occ]ok, Group goes before the guard can react further. If Anton doesn’t change his action, I will assume his previous post for his turn. [/ooc]
Greycastle
Con Save vs a Stunning Strike: 1d20 ⇒ 9
The guard is still conscious and struggling after Anton’s pummeling. He is however stunned, so he can take no actions. The party is up again as the guard recovers from the stunning blow.
is Raiden moving to open the door anyway? I’m fine with it, just working out timing.
Ravvek the Avenger
Ravvek moves the guard so that Raiden can knock him out, and just take turns between the two. He glances down the hall to see if the party has drawn extra attention...
Ravvek the Avenger
Oooh, I think I will do this...
Ravvek pulls the helm from the guard's head and slams the guard against the wall, hoping to knock him out... then if the guard is still conscious, the paladin presents him to his companions again.
Strength (Athletics): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Advantage for being stunned?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Not sure what kind of damage a wall would do...
Raiden Bartok
If that didn't do it, Raiden would help. Poor guard, just fake it already. And, yes, once the hall is clear in our opinion, door needs to be quietly opened to make sure we didn't alert someone inside, and if we did we can take care of that quickly. Hopefully.
Greycastle
I’ll assume Anton punches him some more and in an effort to get this moving again...
A sleeping guard beside you and an unconscious one hanging limply in Ravvek’s arms, the party now stands in the hallway facing the door presumedly leading to the Lord’s chambers.
You can hear movement behind the door.
Ravvek the Avenger
Whispering as he lowers the guard carefully to the floor, Ravvek asks, Through the door? Can anyone unlock it?
Rav checks to see if the door is unlocked... readying Divine Sense.
Myastan Zayless
Zayless nods and moves to the door. He looks it over a moment for any tricks or traps.
Investigation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
If its Locked Thieves Tools: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Greycastle
Unfortunately, the lock does not give way under Zayless’s skill. The door still bars the way. You here the sound of breaking clay on the other side of the door.
Raiden Bartok
Thinking about it for a second, Raiden has an idea. After hearing the sound of things breaking, he knocks sharply on the door, he does his best "guard" voice and says "Sir, is everything okay?.
And if that doesn't work, Strength check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7, he gently tries to shoulder the door, lol, stupid dice.
Ravvek the Avenger
Ravvek would cancel his readied action and work with Raiden to knock down the door. Help action to give Rai advantage to break the door down?
Ravvek the Avenger
If it's okay with the DM, Raiden's Advantage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 durn...
I guess, unless someone else has a way in, we will try again, next round...
EDIT: Ravvek slaps his forehead, signalling his stupidity, then misty steps through the door and unlocking it from the inside!
I am so dumb...
Raiden Bartok
Oh man I hate to do this, but don't you have to be able to see where you're going with Misty Step?
Couple of strength checks as I see no other way to get this friggin' door down and the dice roller is being *&$%!!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Ravvek the Avenger
Dammit, I think you might be right... Stymied by a door!!!
Greycastle
1 person marked this as a favorite.
From behind the door, a dwarf’s accented voice replies. ”Aye, I’m just fine. Why don ya stop playin patty cake wit tha door and come in. See fer yourself and maybe you can tuck me in.”
The invitation reminds you that perhaps the guard had a set of keys.
Ravvek the Avenger
Ravvek looks up at the ceiling, as if looking to the gods, and sighs heavily. Then as he moves to check the guards for keys, he wonders why they would need the keys unless someone was being held captive...
Rav thinks that this is a trap, so he intends to be the first into the room, but is going to take the dodge action as he does so.
Greycastle
[ooc{honestly, the keys were just a bone. Since the door was obviously becoming a problem. [/ooc]
Ravvek the Avenger
Thanks! Heh, you could have had the Lord open the door... XD Rav would still do the same!
Ravvek the Avenger
Ravvek opens the door, rushing in, expecting some kind of attack! Dodge action?
Greycastle
The well crafted door swings open easily and a Ravvek moves into the room ready for anything. A trap was indeed set.
No sooner than Ravvek enters the room, a flaming bolt hits the floor below the Paladin. Ravvek looks down to see broken clay strewn over rug on which he now stands. The oil soaked trap ignites.
Dex Save DC 13 for 1/2: 1d6 ⇒ 5
anyone moving through the doorway for the next will need to make the same save.
Greycastle
Ravvek is the only one inside as we begin the round.

Lord Oreclasp, you have terrorized your people long enough! Ravvek uses his divine senses to sense fiendish presence within the evil man...
Turn done.
Anton Jiang
Anton hops over the flames, pulling his sword as he moves. He punches Oreclasp, then hits him with his sheathed blade, before spinning around with a kick.

Flurry of blows, and a stunning strike in there (Con DC 14) if any of the blows land.
Raiden Bartok
Dex save: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Raiden leaps over the flames with a surprising agility, watching Anton beat the snot out of a dwarf. He looks around the room to see what else, or who else is there, while all but standing on the fire to block any exit.
If the dwarf fights back, he will aim a few kicks his direction...
What is that, like a basic strength + d20? 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Greycastle
1d20 ⇒ 1
The dwarf has little time to react before being pummeled by multiple attacks by Anton. His eyes glaze over and he does not react.
Greycastle
Zayless and Sashah still have action to perform in the opening round but feel free to take your next actions as you’d like I will try to process them as in order of initiative.
Myastan Zayless
Interwebs ate my action.
Zayless moves swiftly through the flames and blasts Oreclasp.

Crit! Let's add another stunning strike.
Greycastle
No need to stun him a second time. The assault from Anton and Zayless have vanquished the friend. His form reverts to normal just before dissolving into a pool of trans dimensional goo. Leaving behind a few objects to be retrieved by some industrious adventurers to recover.
Ravvek the Avenger
Ravvek stops and stands over the dissolving pool... He looks around at his friends, thankful for their combat prowess, but highly conscious of his own failings.
What do we tell the town? Do we just disappear in the night and let them sort it out? Doesn't seem right... Anyone have contact with the Lord's Alliance? This seems like their thing...
While he notices the objects left behind, Rav looks for a journal or something, proof that we are not just crazy murderers.
Sashah
Sashah walks in to the room as the fire at the door fades. He looks at the pool and then to his companions with an eyebrow raised. "I did not foresee zis rezult." He then begins investigating the goo.
