Looking forward to helping out! :D

I'd kind of like to try out the mystic. I haven't touched the casters in Starfinder yet. If someone else had their heart set on it, I'd be willing to change.

GM Blake |

We're still missing one from the original sign-up.
Do you want me to recruit another or have me play the 4th? Please say recruit another.

Pregen with a Beard |

Agreed. Let's throw the line out and see who bites!
I'm sure someone will be willing to...help. ;)

Hello from the CUTEST FURRY LITTLE SIX ARMED STITCH'S IN THE GALAXY!!!

GM Blake |

I have created a Google Hangout for notifications.
I will post new GM posts and anything else important there for quick access for you guys.
The link will also persist in the Campaign description.

Ahah... I see now the advantages to using grapple especially considering the grappler is not penalized for being 'grappled' like in PFS.
That's a nice set of debuffs one could keep up every round, especially if facing one enemy that your allies are all beating on. And if they got good enough to Pin regularly, those are really nasty penalties.

GM Blake |

This particular never-ending fight is no more fun to run than it is to slog through as a player...

GM Blake |

OK. I don't do this often, but I think that not knowing the underlying mechanics of the encounter might have led you to make a strategic misstep (or not, it a finicky thing with dice rolls).
So: You are 1 DC 18 Mysticism check away from destroying all of the shadow creepers. By not attempting the Mysticism this round and healing, you will get a full round of 6 creepers attacking before you get another shot at the Mysticism check.
Now, your success at the Mysticism check is not a forgone conclusion, and if you failed, you would probably want to have those extra HP to survive the full round of 6 creeper attacks.
So, I will give you this rare opportunity to redo Dakoyo's action to attempt to shut down the generator or keep Dakoyo's action (channel healing for 10 HP).

RePete Pregen |

Huh...well...
If I switch and fail, I imagine we both die. If I stick with the healing one of us might live. Normally I would judge by how my character would act in a given situation but being a proven, I dont have a big connection to how the character responds...
Ah...screw it. Nako, I hope this works...for both our sakes...

GM Blake |

As long as you have RP, they couldn't have done enough damage to kill, but if Dakoyo went down, there would have been nobody to stop the generator. If you had needed to shut down all four, you probably would have needed to heal.
It was an annoying fight when I played with 6 (and 2 Dakoyos). Having tormented a party of 4, now, I'm not sure how that was supposed to work (sure, the two critical hits didn't help, nor missing the Mysticism DC twice).

Pete H. Pregen |

Ideally, if the group was perfectly coordinated and full of tactical geniuses three of us would screen and soak hits so Dakoyo could shut off the generator and since he only needed a 6 on the rolls for that, odds run it at 3-4 attempts to get what was needed.
However, even if the players are perfectly coordinated and tactical geniuses, Skittermanders seem to be FAR FROM that kind of thing so... what happened seems about right (with some bad RNG thrown in).

GM Blake |

I don't want to give anything away, so I'll save my biggest gripe with the pregen design for after we finished.

GM Blake |

Assuming that you rest before exploring further, you don't hear the shouting until you exit the observatory (centipede death room).

Pregen with a Beard |

Hey GM Blake! Any chance I could change which character I'd like to apply the credit from this scenario to?
If possible, I'd like to apply the chronicle to my character #704.

GM Blake |

When I played through, we all tried negotiating with the computer, too... we were equally unsuccessful.
It's also frustrating being Dakoyo because they give you both mental blast spells and poison... and all you fight in here is mindless and immune to poison.

I keep looking at my spells going "What about....o...yeah nevermind." /le sigh

RePete Pregen |

Yeppers!
I am a slight disappointed that it's just a one time use spell. With the name I expected it to be a shorter duration with a constant affect of lower reflection. :-P

Mjolbeard89, you've won a boon. I'll need an e-mail to assign to the report. :)

Woohoo! Thanks, GM Blake! PM with my email address has been sent.

GM Blake |

...it's like the scenario writer and the Skittermander Pregen writer were in two different buildings.

Pregen with a Beard |

Something like that! I swear, the number of times I've flipped to my character profile and gone, "Nope, don't have that skill," is astounding! I even got beat out in the only encounter where my social skills had any relevance (talking to the survivors) because I was too slow to get up a post.
I'm still having fun overall because of the opportunity to play skittermanders with the other players, and you're doing an excellent job as GM, but yeah, this scenario? Not the best.

Yeah, sorta sorry about that but tis also the only time intimidate was useful either. :D

Not your fault! You were on top of things, and you did well with it anyway. :)

Pregen with a Beard |

Woohoo! Thanks, GM! Great game and great playing with all my fellow skitters!
Now let's wrap this bad boy up and help some folks out!
