Yeah I can see why it would be problematic for anyone trustworthy. Bhoors normally leans goodish but letting Zhents go who can pick us out of a crowd seems ill advised to him.

Are we fighting both groups now.
I thought that Dack was picking fights with the Zhents who wanted to leave. Which I didn't want to report to upper level Zhents that we exist. But it sounds like Unmei is talking to the other group as well.
Is it a free for all now or just killing zhents.

You don't really know where the guards have landed. Rakdon did hit one with an arrow initially, but then you stopped and managed to diffuse the combat. However, you then attacked the Zhents after getting them to leave. They know you aren't with the watch, but still don't know whose side you're really on and what kind of a threat you are to thier boss.
You are free to try and convince them you are on their side if you wish.

Its more I thought we were momentarily cool with the home owners and the Zhents were leaving. Dack was mouthing off and Bhoors used it as an opportunity to be rid of Zhent thugs where going to run to Zhent bosses with descriptions of us. I figured the enemies of the Zhents weren't going to mind if we finished killing the Zhents they were already trying to kill themselves. I was just trying to clarify if we had targeted the other group not just the Zhents.

Marquez is still operating as though he is just after the Zhents unless something changes. I’ll post tonight or tomorrow. Labor Day weekend has been busy.

All Dackner wanted was for the guy to apologize to him and he pulls a sword on poor Dacknar.
Yes we are still looking for the automation.
And shhhh don't tell Yagra that I am beating up Zhents.
| Bhoors Thistledown |
I was under the impression that we couldn’t just let them go, as their leader is obviously tied to the bombing.
We’re still looking for that automaton, yes? And to figure out the reason for the bombing. We have two leads in one place.
Now I understand. Your recent efforts were aimed the Zhents. I was thinking you were engaging the homeowners not just the Zhents.

Just an FYI. I’m stepping away from the boards for a while. So feel free to bot me to the next logical exit or whichever way is easiest. Thanks for letting me join and GL in the future.

LOL I got Ninja'd by Unmei's post. Probably for the best its less bridges burned. But I edited my post to have an either/or condition.
Lets see how this turns out.

That is a way safer option than if the deception failed. My thinking that if Charm which I didn't take can help people be persuaded. That Disonant Whispers could be used help with intimidation. LOL. This saved Bhoors lots of painful soul searching.

LOL I was forgetting about the field. So I was like okay factor bless. LOL.

I had to go and read the antimagic field description. Not sure this is what is going on here, but if it is, there's no mention of divine magic working.
The effect is an anti-magic field on the entire second floor of the tower. This is the spell text from the PHB that I interpreted. "Spells and other magical effects, except those created by an artifact or a deity, are suppressed in the sphere and can't protrude into it."
Now I took clerical magic to be magic created by a deity. However, it could also mean only magic cast directly by an actual deity. So a god can overcome it but not its acolytes, clerics, cultists, etc.
In original 1E anti-magic was simply all magic, but this new language and that particular sentence made me pause yesterday, so I was erring on the side of the PC's. But if most agree that anti-magic does suppress divine as well as other magics, then we'll call it that way.

Guys, while this game has been fun, after a while, I can't keep up. Whole books of 5e adventures are longer than 6 books of Starfinder making up one adventure. Maybe this is as long as 6 books of Pathfinder since they are longer. And while I could just read along as I have the book at home, it for one would not be fun. And two, this is a sandbox mode adventure, so it ain't like we were on page 26, then 27, then 28. You can be on page 8 then 21 then back to 12.
While I thought a sandbox mode adventure of 5e would be fun on Play by Post, it ain't the same as in person.
Have fun, ya'll I'm dropping out.

How far of a jump is it to make the next roof? Dacknar in thinking about jumping out the window after them as he drinks his healing potion to get away from the anti-magic field.

Heya, noticed you guys were down one and asked Tareth to join. Started this game with Bhoors back when Aesh was running, but bailed after messing up my character with the odd Season 7 rules (and sort of hated AL there for a while). Been lurking a bit since. :)
Need to refresh my memory on some Waterdeep lore, but will jump in in a few hours. Reuleaux is a tinker gnome wizard, sort of standard crazy inventor type with gadgetry galore etc. Flavoring his spells as little arcane gadgets and such for fun.
That was he who threw the brick with a magic matter accelerator. ;)

Had to go back and decipher some stuff...really sorry I missed this game, has such a fun FR feel.
So, story-wise Reu played through all the events leading up to the acquisition of Trollskull Manor...he has a little stake in it. Looks like it is a restaurant/bar/soup kitchen? Not sure how much it factors in the game but...
I was thinking, to account for his disappearance, he took one look at the place and decided to mount it in the nose cone of a giant rocket. Therefore he paid a visit to various alchemist suppliers and gathered a tremendous quantity of gunpowder, natural gases, waterproof fuses, etc.
Naturally, this drew the attention of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors who didn't buy his story of 'visiting Selune in the comfort of home' despite its veracity. They gave him a choice to work with them fighting crime or to spend 10 years in jail in addition to surrendering all the materials. He accepted without hesitation (and had to abandon his original allegiance with the Jeweler's guild, along with his precious optical experiments).
So through connections in the Order, hes been kept abreast of the developments with the nimblewrights and Gralhunds, and the Stone of Golorr. Most recently he got a tip that a halfling necromancer named Losser Mirklav had the stone and was here at the tower, but found Bhoors and the drow instead.
