Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Ah, the wonders of the mounted combat rules!

Alas, charging when your mount has a different reach than you do means that your mount does not get to attack on the charge. It's best to match reach, if possible. Your charge movement must end when you make your attack.

Feats like Ride-by Attack and Wheeling Charge might change what is possible, but may need the mount to possess the feat as well as the rider - I'd need to check.

One note - Kramac would have kept his last teamwork feat set at broken wing gambit while swimming through the open water, as Tandem Trip seems somewhat useless currently. I didn't declare it before combat, so if you don't want to allow the switch I'm fine with it.

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

I'm happy with the pre-combat feat switch Kramac, since we established earlier that tripping underwater isn't generally likely to work.

I am putting Zeno and Otto on Delay. If a player does not post within 24 hours of that player's turn coming up in combat I will Bot you or Delay you to keep the game moving.

Baron Zemdar's troops also open fire with their crossbows.

Crap! Here I am, please forgive the oversight!

Before the fight, I'd have used my mage armor wand, cast touch of the sea and also:

false life: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

And:

Before setting out, Zeno had unwrapped the package from Golarion he'd mentioned: Inside was a strange-looking wand, like a long, slender pillar of geometric shapes, each made of a different material (jade, platinum, blue maize, obsidian, lacquered cinnabar, rock honey, bismuth, and some sort of sturdy colorful fungus, among others). He'd waved it gently over everyone in turn (rhinos and ravens notwithstanding), who each heard an ethereal tone and strange sensation before they passed:

Wand of lucky number!:

Ursahla: 1d20 ⇒ 17 Well that's not so lucky...

Kramac: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Kelumur: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Otto: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Seldanna: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Zeno: 1d20 ⇒ 2 ...but that is!

That was then, this is NOW!:

Zeno draws a small, smooth, mithril wand with a lilac pearl embedded in its center, and waves it across himself (shield) before boldly advancing....

Suddenly, the planar tide surges and pushes you forwards towards the sahuagin troops!

Everyone is pushed 30' to the right of the map. You can avoid this by making a DC 15 Swim check

Rhon, Lonan, Seldanna, Ursahla, Zeno if you move with the tide you'll be moved into or through the jellyfish and will need a DC 20 Ref save to avoid exposure to their venom.

If exposed to the jellyfish venom, attempt a DC 17 Fort Save

Would Kramac need a swim check seperate from Jino, as he is currently in the saddle? Maybe a ride check instead to stay in the saddle? I'm going to assume not at this point, but let me know if you'd like me to make some sort of check.

Jino will make use of his Chameleon Stride hunter trick to dart in and out of the Jellyfish, closing with the first Sanghuin. Kramac will switch to his punching dagger as they swim, dropping his lance. Upon reaching melee, Kramac will active tiger animal focus.

Not seeing anything on Seldanna to give her a swim speed, so making rolls for her too. I've pm'd Otto but had no reply. If he doesn't show during this combat I will regrettably have to drop him. For now he and his pet are on indefinite delay, and I have assumed that the Ride the Waves that Otto prepared was cast upon Rhon.

Seldanna Swim check, DC15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Seldanna holds position whilst her familiar spirit Lonan is dragged past her through the waters.

Lonan takes Dex damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Kelumur also holds position Touch of the Sea is sufficient with Take 10 as does Ursahla.

Zeno, you only have time for one spell - the Lambent Bloom is a large area, so as noted above only long-duration spells or buffs would be applied prior to this encounter beginning. I'll assume you'd cast Touch of the Sea first to enable mobility and obviate the need for Swim checks. You may have drawn your wand of shield, and you may adjust your position on the map if you would not yet have advanced..

With a tremendous burst of speed, and surprising agility, Kramac and his mount make contact with the sahuagin. The first sahuagin warrior falls to the deadly thrusts of Kramac's borrowed punch dagger! Yellow sahuagin scout got dropped by the AoO triggered by your crit.

With no clear path to the Baron, she decides to harry some of the scouts and to keep them from ganging up on Kramac.

Charging purple, using Kitsune Style to make a dirty trick attempt at the end of the charge.

Ursahla easily weaves through some of the tendrils.

REFLEX: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34

She then flicks her rapier above the eyes of one of the scouts, leaking blood into his eyes and into the water to blind him.

Dirty trick: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (5) + 26 = 31

On a successful attack, purple is blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds + 1 round for every 5 she exceeded its CMD. He can end the condition early by taking a standard action to clear it.

If Baron Zemdar attacks her in melee, she will try to parry/riposte (Add +2 to hit and damage to the rolls below). If not, she will do so against green.

Parry/Riposte:
Parry: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
Riposte: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Very sorry to have been absent for the past several days - life has been a bit much - I will do better going forward.

Otto would have cast Greater Magic Fang on Rhon and Jino and Ride the Waves on Rhon. (all 7 hour duration).

Knowledge (planes) DC 20: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Knowledge (planes) DC 15 re how the Plane of Water works: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Otto would have previously passed on the information in the spoiler above to his comrades, particularly the information about fire magic being impeded, water magic being enhanced and subjective gravity

Otto delays to the same initiative count as Rhon

When the tide begins to push Otto and Rhon towards the jellyfish, they both attempt to use their Swim skills to avoid being carried by the tide.

Otto takes 10 for Swim 24, Rhon takes 10 for Swim 26, so neither are pushed forward into the jellyfish.

Otto casts Barkskin on his companion and then instructs Rhon to attack their enemies before hastily swimming forward 60'.

Aided by his newfound Swimming ability and his magical Hastiness, Rhon darts forward, carefully avoiding the dangerous jellyfish tendrils. Double move 120'

Seldanna, yes, Lonan would get a turn, sorry for missing that out of my last update. He now needs to make another Two Fort saves vs poison. The first is the result of starting his turn amongst the jellyfish. This save is DC17. If he fails that, he has received another dose of poison and the second save will be DC19; if he passes, the second save remains DC17.

Lonan remains caught amongst venomous jellyfish, trapped in the tide! Lonan takes dex damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Seldanna begins a summoning.

Ursahla darts forwards, moving with the grace of her aquatic species, and with a flick of her blade causes blood to cloud the vision of a sahuagin scout. A successful dirty trick! I will rule that it triggers the scout's Blood Frenzy.

Kelumur closes with the sea-devils.

Otto bolsters Rhon's protection with his magic, and both press forwards whilst avoiding the jellyfish tendrils.

Baron Zemdar addresses Ursahla: "Oe faʻasiasia maridar! oe ma au uo o le a maua na o le oti iinei!"

Aquan:
"You arrogant maridar! you and your allies will find only death here!"

His warriors manoeuvre. Red Scout swims away from Kelumur...acrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 ... but is preoccupied with the two rhinos converging on him, and leaves an opening.

Kelumur you have an AoO against Red.

The scout swims quickly over towards his warlord, and looses a bolt at Kramac in vengeance for the killing of his comrade. You all note that the sahuagin scouts reload their heavy underwater crossbows rapidly.

bolt vs Kramac: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 16

The glowing bolt is turned by Kramac's armour.

Purple Scout clears the blood from his vision whilst voicing curses against Ursahla, and retreats deeper into the jellyfish tendrils.

His fellow, Green Scout, drops his crossbow (which hangs in place in the water) and swims out of the tendrils to do battle with the undine!

Green claw 1 vs Ursahla, flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 = 26damage: 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (5) = 13

The Baron himself then enters the fray. Leaving his part-loaded crossbow in the water, he lunges at Ursahla from within the jellyfish tendrils! The water around Zemdar's claws and fangs shows numerous tiny particles of ice...

Zemdar claw 1 vs Ursahla, power attack: 1d20 + 18 - 3 ⇒ (11) + 18 - 3 = 26damage: 1d4 + 14 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 14 + (2) = 19
Zemdar claw 2 vs Ursahla, power attack: 1d20 + 18 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 18 - 3 = 32damage: 1d4 + 14 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 14 + (1) = 16

Ursahla parries Zemdar's first attack with skilful blade-work, but nevertheless sustains critical wounds from the sahuagin baron and his lackey! I've taken your Parry against the Baron rather then the Scout - you don't have the reach to Riposte him though. Total of 60 damage - the Scout has sneak attack, the Baron is equipped with a Frost amulet of mighty fists.

I don't think I declared it earlier due to forgetfulness, but Kelumur would have held both his daggers in each hand, one silver and one cold iron.

Kelumur reaches out with his dagger in attempt to hinder the underwater creature from getting away from him!

Correct.

Kelumur jabs a dagger at the sahuagin scout as it swims away from him. The blow draws blood, but does not slow the enemy down.

Zeno is up!

Lucky number lasts up to 24 hours. :)

Zeno forges his way through the water with the speed and finesse of an eel; he draws his bow along the way, but does not fire it; instead, he merely gives Baron Zemdar a terrible, baleful stare as syllables of maledicta escape his mouth in unnaturally-colored bubbles....

The Baron must make a DC 18 Fortitude save or be blinded!

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Lucky Numbers are cast, Zeno. Great spell on a wand, that. It's just the Shield spell that you haven't had time for.

Zemdar: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Zeno swims along in his authentic Vialesk-made diving suit and casts a spell at the sahuagin warlord, but the evil Baron Zemdar resists the elf's necromancy!

tide: 1d6 ⇒ 6

The planar tide flows again, this time pushing you away 30 feet. You all have a sufficiently high Swim modifier and the ability to Take 10, except for Seldanna and her familiar, to decide to stay where you are. I'm going to assume that Lonan will allow the tide to carry him out of the jellyfish, as that's to his advantage. Seldanna, you need a DC15 Swim check to avoid being pushed. This is not an action, so it does not affect your spellcasting.

Active effects: Haste (8r); Freebooter's Bane vs Zemdar. lucky numbers

The bold may act!

Seldanna needs a DC15 Swim check.
Lonan needs a DC19 Fort save or else suffers Dex damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Ursahla, get back! Kramac and Jino will cover your retreat!

Kramac will direct Jino to charge the southernmost sanghuin the green one, so Ursahla can withdraw without having to make an acrobatics check, striking out with his punching dagger. After Jino gores the sanghuin, Kramac will swift dismount off the Rhino, and attempt to occupy Baron Zemdar. He will also switch his animal focus to frog.

Feast of Ravenmoor | Dead Man's Debt

Kramac's faithful steed bellows and, adapted for the water by druidic magic, it gores a sahuagin scout to bloody death! Just as it reaches it's target, Kramac slips out of the saddle to confront Baron Zemdar. Kramac's first thrust goes wide. Jino is not threatening Zemdar, so no Outflank/Pack Flanking.

Lonan is suffering the effects of the jellyfish poison, but at least the tide has carried him back out of the tendril-forest for now.

Seldanna, your summons appears! remember that you are now 25' to the left edge of the map, so this affects where your summons may appear.
