The priestess has collapsed in a heap as blood stains her regalia...
The Knight is either dead or unconscious you aren't sure...
The Drow has survived your collective assault...barely and you see the seething fury in his eyes... He makes a gesture with his hands and unleashes a cone of fire at Unmarked and Artor.
Drow Will save against untouchable aura, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
fire damage3d4 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7, reflex save is 15.

1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Using Overwhelming Fear, Drow must make a DC 16 fort save or cower for 1 round.
GM Xen'Dragon |
As you begin speaking Unmarked you look back and see the damage that Drask and his pet have inflicted, the archers are in complete disarray and then a massive black cloud comes out in the middle of the archers... You hear screaming from the darkness and as the darkness dissipates you see why, a massive (by drow standards) drow stands in the middle of ten dead or dying thranians. He wields two short swords and you see many piercings that cover his body. As the rest of the drow warriors kill or capture the thranians Drask motions to you all to go to the pierced drow...

sorry guys distracted by the lovely holidays...also do note that drow in this eberron don't speak elven, to me at least since they have been isolated from other elven kindreds for so long everything about them is different....
You all approach the drow and you hear him speak in a strange tongue, you could swear that he makes occasional clicking sounds...like a scorpion.
Kalin however seems to be able to speak the tongue and says, this my compatriots is the chieftain of the Drow clan Tequpotiliz. He wants to know who you are and more to the point he is curious to know why a sulatar drow is in his territory...
Unmarked |
oh, sorry. Unmarked didnt respond since he doesnt eat. i figured it was more of a faux pas that he would let slide, since meatbags aren't always used to him being around. doesn't know how primitive the drow are either, maybe they dont know he isnt flesh and bone. i was actually going to post Unmarked making a wordless response, but then i recalled that he doesnt really have facial expressions either, heh. rest assured i wasnt ignoring the game, my character simply had no real response to an invitation to dinner.

The chieftain motions for you to follow and you see the village itself, the village is built in the ruins of giants which have been repurposed by the drow. They have shorn small doors in the ancient stone doors that the giants themselves once used. You see smoke and death as well, the drow have put out most of the fires but a few cling on in fiery defiance. You see a few dead drow who are surrounded by strange drow who are scarred with white markings... You then see the building that must serve as the great hall of the drow, this is the only structure the drow seemed to have raised for themselves. It is a massive shrine to Vulkoor, a colossal slab of stone that is easily ten feet tall and ten feet wide. Upon it you see a massive green and white scorpion, beneath the scorpion you see drow and strange runes or markings that seem to be the written language of your hosts...
GM Xen'Dragon |
As the chieftain walks up to series of five massive stone tables (with seats for forty a table) drow seem to move into the area and start taking seats. You can now smell the welcome scent of food and you spot several drow carrying large, stone kegs to the tables. You also see the strange white scarred drow moving in on the tables, all told there are twenty of them and each one holds a limp body wrapped in white...
GM Xen'Dragon |
The white scarred drow file past and a door opens beneath the great scorpion tablet, the drow file past carrying their dead to what is likely a crypt of some sorts. As the last white scarred drow enters the door a loud cry comes from every drow throat, it is a primal scream that is filled with both grief and hatred. If it is not a call for revenge against those who slew their kin then you do not know what it is... Finally the drow sit down and Kalin motions you all to your seats near the chieftain, you are his honored guests and only the finest food and Quinchol (drow ale) is given to you.
GM Xen'Dragon |
as the meal concludes two drow carrying a heavy stone chest come up to you, as the chieftain speaks Drask translates. These are for you, they are gifts which should serve you well in your travels.
The drow open the chest and you see several items, one is an ancient looking stone halberd (it's a Giant Bane Masterwork Halberd) which is said by your host to have been used in the elven rebellions and he sincerely hopes that you will use it for its intended purpose.
Another item is a strange purple sphere that glows ominously (it's a docent of Quickness) the chieftain says that it was recovered from ancient ruins to the east and inland. He does not know what it is for but none of his clan have any use for it.
The next item is an ancient amulet in the shape of a white and green scorpion (it's an amulet of natural armor 1+), the chieftain says that this amulet has been worn by many a warrior and it is now time to pass it on to clearly worthy warriors and allies.
The final item is a cloak that looks like it was torn from the primal jungle itself(cloak of elvenkind) and it is an item that many drow warriors cherish for it can allow them to slip easily into the jungles of Xen'drik.
There is also a pile of ancient gold coins in the chest (amounting to five hundred gp).
Ormak Kron |
Ormak enjoys the meal, but once again says very little. Being around this many people is still very new to him, and he is definitely uncomfortable.
He does survey his surroundings though, curiosity being strong in him. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 Perception, just to see if there's anything interesting or truly out of the ordinary.
Unmarked |
Unmarked looks at the docent in particular, its form looking particularly... reminiscent of something from his clouded past. He asks Drask an unrelated question, "Can you ask how many different tribes of dark ones there are here? If they are too numerous, how many of note are there in the general area?"
GM Xen'Dragon |
Ormak, your eyes settle upon a strange looking drow clad in a loincloth and who is accompanied by a large scorpion (it's four feet long and has large pincers and a stinger) that bears the same color's as the scorpion depicted on the shrine...
Unmarked,by ancient drow laws and traditions each clan is entitled to a ten to five mile stretch of territory which is exclusively theirs. As for the number of drow tribes at a given time that greatly depends, many tribes are absorbed by others tribes via warfare or political alliances etc...
GM Xen'Dragon |
Ormak as the night wears on the chieftain notices your interest in the drow shaman and tells you that perhaps in the future you might learn some of the mysteries of the wild...
You are all woken up at well past noon, the revels of the drow can last just until sunrise, the drow that awaken you all motion for you to follow them...
GM Xen'Dragon |
All of you proceed to the chieftain's own personal hut and you see the priest you captured strapped to a table... His body is covered in pustules and pricks, small scorpions with the clan's markings are being quite industrious...
You see Drask and the chieftain speaking in the common tongue, when they you they motion for you all to come forward.
GM Xen'Dragon |
As you come forward you all notice that the chieftain is speaking common with a heavy drow accent, he speaks to you all bluntly.
A problem has emerged, despite the pain he is enduring the fire giant worshipping scum has proven remarkably resilient to our efforts to extract information from him. From my own probing's is would seem that he is protected by some sort of mind ward, one that is resistant to all attempts to breach it. This information is critical and I know of a way to extract it, tell me are you prepared to delve into the ruins of another era? I have also prayed for spells that allow me to speak your tongue, some things can be lost in translation despite the best efforts of Drask.
