GM Xen'Dragon |
The rest of your night is relatively peaceful, excepting for the dwarf who upon awakening discovers that a small scorpion decided that his beard was the perfect nest... As you all awaken to the rays of the rising sun you see something you missed last night, on the horizon you see a set of ancient ruins...
Something stirs in your mind upon seeing these ruins...they feel "familiar".
GM Xen'Dragon |
The sun has been blistering but you have made it to the ruins, they are truly the ruins of giants. The door itself is massive, designed to accommodate a fifteen foot giant. The door also as it so happens appears to be locked in place, you can't immediately see a way in...
get those eyeballs moving, roll those perception checks.
GM Xen'Dragon |
You see the faint outlines of some sort of door near the larger one built for smaller creatures... Yet you cannot see a way to open it...
You see a door near the larger one, it must have been built for slaves or so forth. As far as you can tell the door does not have a handle to open it with... You also see swirling, alien runes and so forth cleverly disguised in the granite, perhaps they mean something?
GM Xen'Dragon |
You can take roll twenty but it will take at least an hour to do so... I am ruling that it won't take you an entire day as an RP bonus (dwarves and stonework)
The door does glow with energy but it is nothing like what you have seen before... The energy is not magic as you know it, neither wizard nor priest was responsible for this...
GM Xen'Dragon |
alright here goes nothing...
As Artor examines the door his fingers hit something and he starts to glow like a torch except that the flames be purple in blue...
You lucky devil, roll a fort save and a will save...that's what you get for touching unknown doors, all kinds of trouble just ask the kobolds who are trimming my claws... They thought it was just a "door" to...
GM Xen'Dragon |
The light surrounding Artor's body dissipates...
An angry screech sounds through your mind, in your mind the image of the strange half breed abomination from the warehouse shows up... Judging by the look of outrage upon her face you have angered her deeply, she lets loose another angry screech this time it hurts more then your ears...
Wis damage to Artor...1d4 ⇒ 2
As Artor sinks to his knees in mental agony you all hear the sound of metal on stone, like an army marching...
GM Xen'Dragon |
speeding things up, roll stealth checks with a 10+ bonus thanks to the thick undergrowth you found.
You have hidden in a dense section of prickly plants and dense, hardy desert scrub brush... Out of the door march no less then ten Warforged, they could act as body doubles for Unmarked... Behind them comes the creature you fought in the warehouse back in Stormreach... The Warforged easily slay the celestial wolf by surrounding it and cutting it to ribbons... The strange tentacled women scans the area, her eyes trying to locate you...
perception1d20 ⇒ 3
I Think barring a natural 1 you all are going to avoid her gaze but still roll em...
Unmarked |
stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Unmarked will expend his psionic focus to manifest Create Sound off to the side about 30ft away, the sound will be that of a few humanoids bumbling through underbrush and trees, with indistinct mumblings of anger for bumbling the sneaking. The sound will recede, as if the humanoids were fleeing.
Unmarked will then briefly meditate to regain his psionic focus.
GM Xen'Dragon |
uh oh...
will save1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
The abomination easily detects that the sound is psionically generated and false... Her eyes turn towards your bush, while it seems that she does not notice most of you it is clear that Artor's plan to use his beard as camouflage has failed spectacularly...
The abomination points at Artor and the warforged prepare to pursue...
Unmarked |
create sound doesnt allow a will save, however I figure artor is still detected. But the sounds I created should still warrant pursuit, so hopefully we are fighting a divided force at least.
Unmarked manifests untouchable aura on itself and tells the others in a low whisper "kill one, take it and run. I'll replace it and get in."
Unmarked |
Unmarked will try to hide and move. If he is hidden right now, he will sneak away from the group. If he isn't hidden, he will move away and try to hide. The overall intent is to circle away from the group with the eventual goal of pretending to be one of the 'forged that came out and heading back in when they go back in.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
GM Xen'Dragon |
The hyena fails to get a bite at any of the warforged or their leader... They move in to attack, unaware of so many who are hidden...
perception roll to notice Unmarked and Kron...1d20 ⇒ 11
You all see that the warforged are tightly clustered around their tentacled leader...
everyone except Kyroso can now take a turn's action due to Init
