You begin on the docks of a city named Xanic, you'd just sailed here from the old Eldarik empire.

The dark haired Elf walks calmly amongst the hustle and bustle that is the commerce of a lively dock-space. The dyed crimson leathers and large sword sheathed across her back indicating that she knows how to defend herself though it is her fluid grace more than brute intimidation which is allowing her to wend her way amongst the jostling bodies and crates.

Male Human Wizard 1

A thin man in a darkened cloak walks down the gangplank, the sea air rippling the heavy material. Beneath the upraised hood, his eyes are carefully watching and deciding on the course of action that he should take. He has told no-one of the reason that he has left Xanic, and he has not indicated to another what his true purpose in the country is.

Fading into the crowd, he uses his walking staff to provide himself with the means to not be bustled over by the roil of people.

does the city have a magic academy or any other reason for a drider to be able to walk in the open?


Island Elf

There comes a 'Thunk' from the dockside as a small grappling hook sets itself in the woodwork. After a few moments more a tanned, lithe figure clambers up on to the dockside and proceeds to shake herself some what dry. With a deft 'Heave-ho' she begins to pull up the rope she's just climbed, retrieving the small chest which has been tied off on the other end.

She happily beams a smile to those who look and possibly stare back at the tanned Elf lass.

A giant brown spider makes It's way down the ships hull, taking a big step onto the dockside, it 's apparent rider, a dark-skinned elf-girl clothed in a robe made from leafs, vines and bark, clutching a barkbpund book to her chest and a mangled right leg, looks around nervously.


Male Human Wizard 1

After moving a short way through the crowd, he slips up into the shadows near a building, waiting for the throng of people to thin. His thick grey cloak absorbs the wet salty winds blowing off of the ocean.

Xathrid sees the elf girl rise from the water, and watches curiously, though silently from a short distance away. The chest that she drags up from the bottom of the ocean intrigues him, to the point where he simply watches the amphibious humanoid. He wonders where the chest came from, and what it may contain.

Iraedra's arrival causes Xathrid to gasp. An absolute massive spider leaps onto the docks, with a black skinned elf riding the creature.

this city is a metropolis, and is center for trade in the north, there are five districts

Mage district
Holy district
Druids district
Slavers district
Military district
Fisher's district

So yes, a drider would be able to walk freely, but you may be feared of or thought to be a slaver( they often use monsters to hunt down escaped slaves)

BTW, I'm going to have a character called hooded figure give you most of the storyline objectives,

Otherwise its mostly filler quests: ex. Kill all the monsters in the sewer, deliver messages, work with the city guard.

Waiting and observing, I slide from the shadows when the human (xathrid) arrives near me. "Together this crowd shall this crowd will move out of our way. I have recently taken a room at the Brawler's Grotto Inn, food sucks but the rest of the accommodations are adequate. Join me for atleast a meal?
There are 2 more that I would offer this hospitality. Wait there by that large bale of furs we shall join you momentarily."
I stride over to the wet elf (Sunny) first and then the Spider riding elf (Ireadra). "I will provide a meal. Join me and my friend." I motion to the bale of furs.

Not waiting for further response I turn and stride back to the bale.

So, looking at what a 'Spell Sage' does... How does the class interact with Meta-magic feats?

There are 'Tattoo' magic type effects that can be used to further boost Spell DC's? (Varisian Tattoo, I believe)

There is also a variation where in a spell is 'inked' onto a character's body and 'stored'... ? Making it an easier action to activate later.

Must admit, playing an Arcanist is something new for me and something that I too will be learning the ropes of as we go along.

Though at lower levels, buying better magic swords seems to be the go.

I believe there are few from recuitment that may not realize they are in or not.

Also i noticed mr GM may have limited on-line time. But that should not deter the rest of us conversing when available.

I hope to see this game flourish.

what I am hoping for is +1 glamered Kikko Armor with Crusading special ability.

I am seeing above what appears to be confusion. some went with armor +1 and a weapon +1

I did not add the armor to my sheet right now until we know for sure.

I am fine with what I have, but the additional stuff is nice too.

Don't take me wrong, the +1on the armor means you remove the +1 ability from the weapon, for example: a +1 flaming short bow becomes just+1 in order to give armor +1

You don't have to spend all the starting gold.

so a +1 weapon AND a plus one armor = meaning an equivalent of A plus 1 and special ability item if combined

I took only a minor magic item (bag of holding 1) so I will add another piece of gear appropriate to a +1
