Quinray dives behind a tree and keeps his head low. Ibram advances to the side of the pit and hurls a javelin which misses. (The coming round Ibram will be close enough to advance to melee and attack in same round if he wants). Kentaur lets fly a bolt from his crossbow which sticks into a tree near the shoulder of one of the bandits (Kentaur is within channel distance of all his companions, but out of range of bandits). Milo advances close to Tirnel and fires an arrow into a bandit wounding him pretty badly. Tirnel also wounds a bandit to a lesser degree.

The bandits are spread out in a line with about 6'-8' between each of them, and they let fly a particularly effective volley, striking 3 of the 4 party members that are still in the fight. One precisely aimed arrow takes Tirnel in the chest, dropping him immediately unconscious.

Everybody in battle has cover, if anything the bandits have better cover from prepared ambush spots, if you want your attacks to have a chance to succeed then you are going to expose yourself to return fire.
