I did. it was my husbands birthday so we invited a few friends over and I made brunch.

Yeah my brother's birthday was right around that time too, he and my cousin with a January birthday tended to get the celebrations rolled into Christmas/New Years celebrations.

She'll consistently stay about 40 feet back from the group. Basically trying to stay out of any blast zones and only going where we've already cleared.

I for one could never work around all those animals and not want to take them all home. I was at a toys for tots party on sunday and I was speaking to my cousin. She is fostering german shepherds(my personal favorite dog). Bless her heart, I could not do it. It's to damn heartbreaking.

How long was the site down

From around 5 PM last night Eastern time to sometime this morning. It didn't work when I was at home but it was up by the time I got to work.

Maybe its this storm we are having. Although in my neck of the woods it has just been a steady rain

So my idiot cat, after chewing through two DSL cables, two Nintendo DS cords, and the cord to the noisemaker I use to help me sleep, finally threw the last straw yesterday by chewing through the power cord for my modem. Attempts to acquire a new cord that works have failed, and it doesn't look like the modem's company sells them separately. So I've ordered a new modem; unfortunately since DSL modems are apparently rare as hell, you have to order them off Walmart's online store, which means waiting for shipping time.

Long story short, I won't be fully back online at home until next Thursday at the earliest, and that's barring any further surprises.
The good news is that the new modem will be a combination modem/router, so I can stash it on a high shelf out of cat-reach. That should prevent further incidents, I hope.

Here's hoping that the shipping, the install, and the setup will go without incident. See you guys in a week. I'll still be able to pop on the forums from work, from time to time, but it means my posting will be slow and heavily limited, especially in PBPs, as I can't reach roll20 from work.

That bites man, gotta love the little buggers.

Yeah. It wouldn't worry me so much if it wasn't a sudden new thing, she wasn't doing this before this week.

We're going to the vet tomorrow morning for a look-see, see if we can figure out what's up with her.

Apologies for the delays, I should be back and posting regularly now.

Vet says the chewing is likely just a behavioral issue, due to the cat thinking she's not getting enough attention or wanting more predatory-type play. So I'm trying to take pains to spend more time actively playing with her when I'm home, especially with the January overtime season on its way in, where I'll be home much less often.

New modem and router have been purchased, installed, and cat-proofed as best I can. So far so good.

That makes sense, they do crave attention
