oops! Speaking of mess-ups, my last post was not meant to be posted as it had been. Those were just rough notes on what I wanted to post, had to leave before it was finished and guess I submitted it by accident.
Apologies. But I guess the gist of it got across?
Or if not I can repost it properly?

Also, I had been wondering why Griswald said that Eleeda lived with Thogar at the Sleepy Mule, until I realized that it was My fault. I could have sworn I had changed and posted her backgroud. But it seems I didn't, or at least not all of it.
Basically it's just the first 3 paragraphs that needed changing, with Herucle Sterwiv, owner of The Drunken Dragon being her adopted father and workplace, Not Thogar at the Sleepy Mule.
It's all changed on her sheet now, here it is:
Eleeda Sternwiv knew that life had more in store for her than wiping tables and mopping puke off of the tavern floors. Sure, being the adopted daughter of the owner of one of the main bars in town meant that she never had to worry about an empty belly, but it also meant that she worked her butt off day and night as well. At 15, Eleeda was a very bright and quick girl. She was also beginning to show the beauty her mother, Tatiana, had been famous for, and that quickness had many times saved her from the occasional swipe at her bottom that an over-drunk or too new customer sometimes made at her. Such worthies very rarely made such an attempt twice though. A certain look at Herucle and a point with her chin to towards the offending customer was enough to have the big ex-blacksmith at the table in a flash, where he would make it very clear what the consequences would be to anyone who laid an unwelcome hand on his adopted daughter. One such warning from the muscular bar owner was almost always enough. For despite losing the lower half of his left arm in the orc raid, which was the injury which forced his change of careers, even one-armed Herucle was still more than a match for most men he came across. On the rare times that his glare wasn't enough to forestall any inappropriate behaviour, the offending customer usually woke up the next day with several bruises, possibly broken bones, and a costly lesson learned. Eleeda thought she loved Herucle for this most of all.
It was a strange relationship that they had. Herucle could certainly be rough around the edges sometimes, but his heart was in the right place. Nothing evidenced this more than the vow he had made, and kept, to Eleeda's mother on her deathbed. A promise that he take would care of her newborn baby girl. It had been both a joyous and tragic day, the day of Eleeda's birth, for Tatiana had been universally loved. Yet despite the best efforts of Father Griswald, Tatiana passed away mere hours after giving birth to her baby girl.
Eleeda's mother had worked as a tavern maid at The Drunken Dragon for many years under Herucle's benevolent rule and the two had developed a close relationship. As close as it was though, and despite the whole town knowing how sweet on Tatiana Herucle had been, their relationship had never developed into a romantic one. Eleeda had no idea who her father was, as that was a secret Tatiana took to her grave.

I've been informed by another GM that it can be taken care of by going through the messageboards themselves, rather than relying on just your Campaigns tab. Tedious, but it might work... Although, looking at the left of my screen, I don't think it did. *sigh*

Khaladon |

I'm actually quite incredibly blessed to have had and still have, many incredible, beautiful, amazing people in my life. But, even with that said, many of the closest connections I've had in my life with other living beings have been with animals. I think it has at least something to with how pure they are. They have little to no filters and/or b&%!$+$&/stress/confusion/etc. in between them and what they really are. So they're pretty much always just Real, True, Connected. Those who are sensitive to that (ie Anyone who's even a little bit Awake) Feel that and Know that just by spending time with an animal. Especially puppies and kitties (I'm not picking favourites, but seriously, how's it even possible to Not fall in love with a little kitty or pup?)
So, seeing the adorable, almost helpless little furballs in pain is terrible. I'm glad your little one is not suffering anymore as well, Jelani. Kitty heaven's probably pretty cool. (String EVERYwhere! )

I haven't heard from Eleeda in nine days and Micha in almost a week. If we lost both of them I'd be unwilling to keep running this game.
Eleeda and Micha, if you see this please respond as soon as possible. I'm gonna put the game on pause until Monday in hopes they come back. Maybe the hurricane or something.
Edit: Wait, Khaladon is Eleeda and he posted Sunday. Still..we're waiting on Eleeda to respond to Variziel and waiting on Micha to do whatever he was going to do with Klaudia and then go to bed.

DM Jelani |

Yeah, I'm an ex-pat (for now at least). I guess it was weird living here at first, but I've been here long enough that it's just home now. Life's easy in China, everything is cheap and there are way fewer laws to worry about. No need for cars, medical insurance, etc. Rent is like $300 a month for a nice place in a city of seven million. I only have to work like twenty hours a week. I've saved more in my little over a year here, than I was able to in five years of hard work in the US.
If Chinese were a little bit easier to master I'd have no complaints at all. It's actually nice that they just openly admit here that the people have no say in how things are run. Where as back home we waste so much time and money pretending we do, but it's basically exactly the same. Only difference is people talk about it in the US and here mum's the word. -shrug-

Eleeda Sternwiv |

Huh. Very interesting. And thank you, DM J, for your insight and candor. And I really couldn't agree with you more, I just hadn't thought of the situation in China from that angle before.
Of course, the ideal situation will be when all Do have a conscious say in how things are run. Of course, for that, we all have to Become conscious first. So, as always (even when we don't know it) the onus is on us.
Do you mind me asking what you do there? And was it easy/hard to get there, and find work, and get a place etc.?
Your comments are making my dream of visiting and living in China more possible all the time. ; )

Guys, I am going to close down this game. For me it was an experiment with low-magic and low-powered PCs, but I feel like it's gotten really stagnant. We haven't had a gameplay post in over a week and that's probably my fault. We should be moving on to the Lord's Speech, but I can't seem to make myself create the map and write the speech etc. It feels like one of those chores I really don't want to do. I've got too many games going on right now that need me to create stuff from scratch on a regular basis. I'm trying to reduce that load to one game where I'm not running pre-published material.
I've got another game that I will shut down soon as well. Once that's done I'm going to open a new game. It's gonna be in a game world I'm working on called Allacosta. I'm converting old adventures from Dungeon magazine to run in it. The world is hard to describe, but think Midnight meets Arcanis, meets the real world. I'd like to offer you guys first pick of spots if you want it. It's gonna be a while yet until I start recruiting, just wanted to let you all know what's going on. I'll leave this campaign active for now, and post here once the new game starts.

Variziel |

I fully understand, Jelani. This game had kind of stagnated, and while it may seem a failed experiment since it closed down, I really liked what you were doing! Can't wait to meet up with you again. Count me interested in a spot in whatever you do next!

Eleeda Sternwiv |

Well, I won't lie and say I'm not disappointed. I feel Eleeda was one of the more interesting characters that has come to me, and I was very much enjoying writing her and looking forward to exploring her development. I'll be very sorry for her voice to fall silent.
At the same time, I completely understand where you're coming from. I know how much of a time and creative commitmnet it can be even just as a player, so I can only imagine how much more it is for you awesome and generous DM's.
I also want to say that I very much enjoyed this game Jelani. I mean, ZOMBIES!!! ^-^
If there's space, I'd definitely be in to co-creating in your next game.
Thank you all for a fun romp!

Derryn |

Right there with Eleeda, I'm disappointed to see this game end so soon. It would have been interesting to see where the possible background with Variziel might have lead. I admit, I could have been more of an overall team player with Derryn's character but hey, that's what development is for.
In all seriousness, it was a fun game to be a part of and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
Wouldn't mind hopping in to your next endeavor so I'll keep an eye on the boards.
-See ya next time!

Father Griswald |

I really enjoyed the game while it lasted. I think the next Ravenloft-y game I go for I'm going to play Griswald as a full-blown cleric.
As for the other game, you had me at "Midnight meets Arcanis". Let me know when you're ready to start it up and I'll gladly submit a character.
