I've got one, I just forgot to update my profile.

Now, if you find a cloak of Elvenkind, she can use her charms to see if Xanos would be willing to add the resistances into that.

King of Talingarde

Looks like you want to continue, but just asking to make sure. Map link below, for your pleasure.

The Map Link

Well, it looks like there's still a couple doors we haven't opened on the map, and Teon wanted to go give a squire PTSD.

Someone want to take point?

If you decide to keep the head, in another level I can animate it. :)

In five levels I can animate it with his mind still stuck in it.

Tell me you don't want a zombie paladin head on a stick.

Sadly, he is not a paladin. If you look at the avatar, you can see he is a fifth level fighter. I might have damaged him when I shoved my hand up where his trachea/esophagus used to be. The upside is if I move my thumb, his mouth works.

Just a reminder that I'm waiting on what you guys choose to do with Timeon before moving us along. I don't need a full on RP post if you'd rather not (always fun to read though, so not saying no to one either).

When you all are ready to continue, just let me know.

Right now. I say we get Cain and Gwyn to scour the place and see if we can't find secret doors, or any of that. Preacher man said ruby amulet, Preacher man is going to get a ruby amulet, even if Gwyn winds up trying to strangle him with it.

As for Timeon. I say we let the poor lad out. I'm sure that Gwyn can get those traps working again. >:)

King of Talingarde

The necklace you seek is Silver and Sapphire, not ruby.

Still going to chunk it at the Preacher Man when I get a chance...

Xanos is the very incarnation of patience and apathy at the moment. He'll basically follow Price's lead but he has zero intrest in Timeon or anything else about this place.

Outsider (AC: 22|12|20- For:+5| Rex:+6| Wil:+7- Per:+2Init:+3)

Teon will go with the group and insist that we back track to see Timeon as we get close to where we left him. Gwyn, I think that Eldon's holy symbol meets the criterion.

Son of Sir Balin of Karfeld, Male Human

"I did indeed have a Silver and Sapphire Holy Symbol dedicated to beloved Iomedae. A rather expensive piece I might add, though I can't recall if you made the appraise roll on it or not. There was also another one in the room with the stairs to the east and the secret door. Laying on a pedastel. Though I don't actually know that bit of information, so probably shouldn't be telling you."

Had we checked that room? It's kinda hard to keep track.

Mark, here's a thought. For items and objects that might be important, could we get tokens the same way we get them for enemies?

Maybe not right off the bat (to keep some semblance of mystery), but once we leave, or once it becomes clear that it's important, it would be handy to have markers to help remember where we left things.

King of Talingarde

No problemo on that one. Just a note though, you all can make notes on the map as well, if you so desire. I have no issues with that. Just create a text boss, probably change the color abit. But in the future, I will do so.

Yup, let's do our thing with Timeon and blow this hamburger stand.

(I think we should probably kill him afterwards, just to be thorough).

Also, if nobody else is taking that cloak of resistance I'll go for it. Shulme' saves aren't the best ever.

And what's so tasteless about letting him walk into a trap?

Mostly because we don't have to. We have a zombie for that, and a summoner, and a wizard, and you. We aren't lacking in trap bait.

For the curious. I finally got around to sketching out Gwyn.

Gwyn, as of now.

Hey, nice sketch. :)

Sorry for being so quiet over the last week, guys. Work + people in town + got sick = crappy availability.

It's becoming a problem with me, it seems. I"m still here, though. And right now I think my week should be more normal in terms of posting capacity.

So let's get this thing moving!

King of Talingarde

To get you all thinking about it now, you will all be achieving level 3 after this bit of RP.

In addition to the normal leveling benefits, you will receive two additional benefits.

1) You will all be able to choose one teamwork feat for free! This does NOT have to be the same Teamwork feat, but I do recommend coordinating your selections on this. You must be able to meet all normal pre-requisites of this feat. If you have any other questions, go ahead and post them. This represents the time you all spend training together.

2) You will all select one additional trait from the following list. This represents the additional training you each receive with Thorn and Tiadora. A special note on naming conventions of these traits and the RP portions of their effects. If the benefit of the trait is something you desire, but not the RP aspects, we can change those to better suit the character. Just let me know and we can work something out. If you see no effects you like, mention it and we can work something out.

“Asmodeus is with you.” Adrastus Thorn indoctrinates you into the deeper mysteries of worshipping the Prince of Hell. Whenever you channel energy, you gain a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of your channeled energy.

“Deception is a tool. Master it.” Adrastus Thorn teaches you the subtle arts of deception and how to sense when they are being used against you. You gain a +1 trait bonus to Bluff and Sense Motive.

“Discover what is real and what is illusion.” Adrastus has taught you to see through deceptions and to never lie to yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against illusions.

“Fear nothing save our dread lord.” Adrastus Thorn has shown you fear and taught you to master it within yourself. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects.

“Focus strengthens your will.” Adrastus Thorn drills you on ways to avoid magic that seek to take control of your mind and divert you from your mission. You gain a +2 trait bonus on saving throws against charm and compulsion effects.

“Let us perfect your favorite spell” Adrastus Thorn drills you again and again in the use of one particular spell. Pick one spell. This spell’s effects manifest at +1 caster level.

“Quiet as death” The Cardinal trained in the arts of being silent and stealthy. You gain a +2 trait bonus to Stealth checks.

“Strike first, strike ruthlessly and thus be victorious” Cardinal Thorn has taught you never to shirk or hesitate in a combat. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.

“Wear your armor like a second skin.” You have drilled extensively in wearing armor in combat. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1 to a minimum check penalty of 0.

“You shall be my angel slayer.” Adrastus thorn spends exhausting amounts of time teaching you about good celestials, their strengths and weaknesses. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Knowledge (planes) checks about good-aligned celestials and receive a +1 trait bonus to any damage roll you make against them.

Hey! Very nice!

A couple of questions.

1) Can we delay taking a TEamwork feat until 4th level if we want to (to meet the pre-requisites)? I'm specifically looking at Outflank, which just looks like it has Cain's name all over it. Though I guess he's the only full BAB character, so others would have to wait until 5th level... so it's far less worth it, huh?

2) Xzaral, you never got back ot me on some good options for the Urban Ranger's FAvored Community class feature. I'd love to pick something that will actually be useful AND that fits with Cain's background. Can you either hit me up personally or layout some optinos for me that will work within this campaign? Let me know if I need to explain further what Im asking about.

Very excited about levelling up and getting on into the next section of this bad boy! :D

Evryone else: One good Temwork option for the scouting group of us is the group stealth one. I forget the name, but it allows all stealthy members (as long as they all share the feat and are in line of sight of one another) to roll saves, and everyone takes the highest die roll, appling their own modifiers separately. That one seems to fit our tactics well.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Stealh Synergy, and yep I was going to suggest that the two of us take it.

I'm torn between "Deception is a tool" and "Quiet as death." Suggestions?

Guys, just to let you know for coordination purposes, as a 3rd Inquisitor I get a teamwork feat and Solo Tactics. I'll be taking Precise Strike for that. So if any of you guys want to play off that - feel free.

For the DM teamwork feat... Stealth Synergy seems pretty cool but I'm flexible.

Pretty sure I'm going to take "Quiet as Death".

The +1 to my channel DCs would be nice, but there's now way in hell Xanos would ever learn any deeper mysteries of worshiping Asmodeus.

I think I'm going to go with Quiet As Death also. I need to get on board with the rest of the party.

Im probably going to go with the "Second Skin" one. Quiet as Death was one of my favorits, but with the emphasis Cain has on scouting and physical activities in general, reducing ACP by one (often to zero) can have an overall greater effect than a flat +2 to Stealth alone. Especially since i'm going to be constantly balancing between AC and skills. Plus, with this trait, mithral breastplate has zero ACP -- assuming I can get my hands on that item (it is the optimal item for Cain defensively).

@XAnos: I apprciate your efforts to keep us all stealthy. It can be tricky with mage builds, and I think it's awesome that you're willing to devote resources to a group theme. :)

And hey, Kalina! Good to see you're still kicking.

Percep +4. Init +8 -- Hp 50/50. AC 18, t12, ff16. Fort+4, Ref+4, Will+6

Just out of curiosity, how much of the team can and can't see in the dark? Within a level or two Shulme will start being able to take the light away (and will only get better at it after that).

For the trait, I am most attracted to strike first/ruthlessly. I'm planning to pick up the shadow armor revelation at 7th level to help out with stealth.

Quote:

That is nice... I have to say I am also liking the possibilities of Escape Route for a party-wide (or at least, all our meleers) pick. Though more for closing and maneuvering than actual escaping.

Teon is likely to eventually have reach (right?) and Shulme already has it - between the two of them they could then cover a pretty large area, and it should be possible to rarely or never suffer AoOs for movement. And it could make it really easy to set up flanks and such.

But I don't have much experience using the teamwork feats practically. Any other suggestions?

Hey there! Does this mean you're coming back?

Shulme wrote:
--- stuff about Escape Route ---

Hmmm, by my reading reach doesn't really matter. It just affects squares adjacent to people with the feat. THat does't make the feat worthless or anything; I just want to make sure we make the best feat choice. Positioning IS key.. especially for Gwyn.

Though, to be honest, with Gwyn's un-stellar AC and low hp, I'd prefer if we could use Cain/Teon as the flanking buddy (as the situation demands) and try to get Gwyn the Gang Up feat or something.

I still like the Stealth teamwork feat, but I'm open to doing what's best for the group.
