Raynor enters the next room.

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. The Raynor ducks through into the darkened space his glowing lance light proceeding him. It reveals a large chamber with a relatively low 10-foot ceiling and eerie relief patterns carved into all the walls. The walls seem to buckle and bend for a moment upon the knight's entrance like disturbed gelatin before settling into a seemingly fixed state again. The far southwest wall is set at an angle, and against the center of that wall sits a heap of bones and skulls resembling a large makeshift throne. To the left of the throne sits an oak and brass sea chest, carved with images of sea serpents chasing their own tails. Bones and bits of junk litter the rest of the floor. Like the large chamber with it's 20-foot-tall heap necrotic flesh the place stinks of unwashed bodies and death.

Seated, or rather crouching atop the bone throne is a ghoul with a vaguely Vudrani-looking face, and a head-wrap. His clothes seem in better repair then his fellows. He wears a lot of jewelry made of teeth and bones, and the ruins of an ancient ship's officer's coat as a cloak over his narrow shoulders, all of its brass now tarnished.

Seated next to the throne like obedient wolfhounds sit a pair of large once-men now-festrogs. Low deep growls and drips of saliva emanate from both. A pair of ghouls likewise lurk in the once-shadows near the door.

"Hah! What rude guestss you are to come to the throne of Rajhan-Vol mounted upon such a beast and not even introduce yourselvess." The once-man on the throne hisses along a too long tongue. "My boatsswain would have done as much for you-" And then the ghoul's voice cracks with sudden rage, "-HAD YOU ALLOWED HIM TO LIVE!"

And then just as suddenly the murderous rage is gone. "But come, come introduce yourselvess that we may come to know one another and might parley like proper piratess. Heheheheh."

The thing that was Rajhan-Vol. Your characters may make one knowledge (religion) check and reveal all the spoilers that apply.

knowledge (religion) DC 11+:
It's another ghoul. (So whatever it is you have learned about ghouls would seem to apply here.)

knowledge (religion) DC 12+:
But not quite. This one is somehow advanced--it is a ghast! Ghasts are an advanced form of ghoul, and are undead creatures.

knowledge (religion) DC 17+:
Like ghouls, ghasts have sharp teeth and claws that can paralyze with a scratch, and not even elves are immune.

knowledge (religion) DC 22+:
Ghasts have all the abilities of their lesser brethren (they even carry the disease: ghoul fever) but worse they give off a pungent stink of the grave that is so terrible it is difficult to remain near them without becoming ill.

Hold your seahorses there Tex. First off I'm not sure which deity you smite for but I can't remember seeing one yet that allows you to smite first and ask questions later. So consider this fair warning for possible future atonement as technically this would be the second time Raynor has resorted to his lightsaber light lance proactively, even though this ghoul said he wanted to talk. (Granted, Raynor just went along with his peer group whe they started chucking bombs and spells the last time.) No doubt you are correct to do so, but I can think of at least one PFS scenario where the undead horror at the end was not the villain of the piece.

I would consider a 10' ceiling a bit confining to be riding a horse around in a combat situation, but geckos I could imagine to be a bit lower slung, so I will differ to your imagination on whether you want Raynor to ride him about in the low-hung chamber.

To be fair, I can think of one or two at least - Sarenrae comes to mind.

Alkarion sees Raynor hesitate, an does the same. He hangs back to hear what is said, but takes out a flask of holy water just for insurance. He also pops a small wad of some sort of waxy substance in his mouth.

Taking a barbarian chew, then getting out a holy water while waiting to hear what the ghast has to say.

No real argument there. But he and his fellows did not immediately attack you upon entering, though they undoubtedly knew something was up what with the BOMBS! and all and could have arranged a more formal ambush had they wished to. You can still bust in like Lancelot in Monty Python and the Holy Grail and kill everyone. I just wanted to note the potential cost to Raynor's soul. Maybe you are edging Raynor into the vindictive bastard archetype. I'm not sure. For now I'm going to go with the assumption that we you aren't striking down all the Separatist leaders on Mustafar undead just yet (unless you say different, or if Raynor is a paladin of Cthulhu or something).

Not that I know of. There are some regional codes, like the Pirate code that governs the Isles of the Shackles, and some national codes of conduct based on national concerns: slaver nations (Cheliax and Qadira), anti-slavery Andoran, god-hating Rahadoum, Imperialists (Taldor and Cheliax), etc.... There probably isn't a single set of rules that governs them all though, and many are probably highly situational, so it sort of gets back to where you come from which going by Raynor's ethnicity is about as far away from sailing the sea as you can get on Golarion and as close as it is possible to come to Star Fleet all at the same time.

I'm trying to go for a pirate hunter type paladin of the seas, so I picked the Harborwing goddess with a golden seagull as holy symbol a.k.a. Ylimancha, an agathion empyreal lord whose areas of concerns include coastal waters and fisherfolk.

I'm definitely opened for suggestion if there's something out there that's more 'anti-pirate'.

As for attacking undead on sight, I thought it was par for the course for paladins based on various threads on the paizoboards saying undead are always evil (i.e. even mindless ones). I could be wrong though, so feel free to retcon. Also, based on this dungeon so far, it would be weird if somehow we start being all cowardly all of a sudden. We stared down something really evil in the forest above... but I agree with you that if this undead is not evil and seeks our help we would listen to him first (although I would argue that we should keep an eye opened for evil bastardly treachery here! :) )

I'm gonna give Garrapata a little more time to make his rolls (as they are pretty key and I'd rather he rolled them than I), but in the meantime check out this note in the still vaguely communal discussion thread, please.

I would like to invoke 1. Borox is using the Bull's Strength extract which raises his STR by 4 which increases his CMD. 2. Borox is a Dwarf and is standing on the ground which means his Dwarven racial trait of Stability, +4 to CMD when resisting a Bull Rush or Trip attempt while standing on the ground. That should give him a 23 CMD. I will make my actions this round predicated upon the hope that he is not tripped.

"Ye be siccin' yer doggie on me, eh laddie? I think ye be a' needin' to "lighten" up some!"

Borox takes a 5 ft. step to the square he is now in, and casts his memorized Burst of Radiance in the square marked with a red X.

Burst of Radiance damage: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 2) = 10
Blinded: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Dazzled: 1d4 ⇒ 2

The DC for the spell is 15. Save only applies to the Blinding. There is no save for the damage.

Hint to Raynor and everyone. Bless is in effect! +1 to ATK rolls. Hint! Hint!
