Of course Jen :)
Round 1 Teams:
Tacita, Clifford, grab your partners and get ready to rumble.
Btw,
How would you all feel if I threw in random traps, hazards, etc? or would you prefer this to be just straight up fights, and leave the DM stuff to a different round of battles?

Voice of Awesomeness |

I had thought the reason you two did not want to go first was because you didn't think you would be ready, had we started on Mon.
The whole reason I decided to have you guys go first, was because you two were the ones showing the most interest in the older thread, as I felt bad making you two wait any longer.

Voice of Awesomeness |

Game play thread is up!
Just a little intro, to give you all some time to interact if you so desire, and to make sure all four fighters for round 1 are present.
Feel free to chit chat amongst yourselves, with the three NPCs I described, or just place a dot, don't really care.

Hey there Cliff
found another pic for Annie: Click me for pic

Shyvana the half dragon |

yeah it's the current version of it...
updated gear and racial build. should be complete now.
Since people are apparently researching my character and it's abilities...
here's the link .... here......

Alicarus Vorasik, "The Ripper" |

For Alic's appearance, since I can't seem to find anything quite right on paizo, think Darth Maul without the tattoos. (Well, with tattoos of chains and Zon-Kuthon sybmols rather than Sith symbols.)

He's the GM, so. :P

Eben's Circus |

Alright, this is Eben's submission. Biter, the demon-goblin!
I PM'd you the build, VoA (and you, too, Loup Blanc, so you know what you're dealing with).
Assuming it passes muster, I'm ready to roll when you guys are. >:D

I was referring to other characters actually sending me PM's...

Clifford "Cliff" Barton |

really, you got PMs interesting,
from what I can see, (as in of the people who have posted their builds) I will make quick work of the catfolk, the plant will be difficult with immunity to poison and a high AC, but so long as Annie can keep it busy I should be able to finish off the kitsune and go back to double teaming the plant Shyvvana and me could go either way, but I should win so long as I keep him at a distance,
annie and me would be a game of bullet tag, but so long as I focus on her I have a good shot at winning,
I however am at a disadvantage to the aegis/soulknife High AC, DR, energy resistance, high HP, if he can close with me I'm doomed
all in all, I find myself in the top third of the people who have put up character builds

Voice of Awesomeness |

It's nice to see your arrogance has travelled with you from Avalon :-P
This is why it's team based. You might be that badass but your two opponents might whoop on you regardless. Or maybe not at all.
We'll see.
Also, no official announcements have been made so nobody IG knows whose fighting when at all.

Clifford "Cliff" Barton |

I was just looking at strengths and weaknesses, annie would come to luck of the dice and tactics, the longer the battle raged on the more of a disadvantage I would have, but I would have the beginning advantage,
shy would go to whoever the environment favored if I was incapable of keeping him at range things will go poorly for me but at a distance I have the advantage,
the ninja I have the advantage, mostly due to having an overly MAD build but as stat increasing items become more affordable the gap will probably close up,
the ageis/soulknife I would be in trouble against, would be so even more if they went to the soulforge PrC and picked up some casting (psionic warrior for instance) or pyrokineticist (1d8 extra damage 15ft reach at lvl one for starters,) on the other side,

I look at builds to learn more on how build characters.
also I sometimes look for which of the other person's abilities is going deliver the final blow to poor little Annie.
BTW for this arena I made my sheet public so anyone can look it over I assume (possibly wrong) that we can be mature enough to keep that seperate from IC and only act on what we do know.
for example unless I have some sort of clue that my character would notice about someone beling immune to fire, I would probably use fire spells first then learn the truth. and change it up after.
but overall lets keep the rule of fun. There are no cash rewards for the victors. lets just have some combat arena fun and maybe some resurections after, so we can go again, and again, and again, and so on, and so on, and so on...

Agreed.

Eben's Circus |

Double-agreed. Though I'm keeping mine masked until i get to take the little dude out a few times. The surprise is half the fun!

Clifford "Cliff" Barton |

the only info I am using is not using poison arrows on the plant, but then I should know that plants are immune to poison and sleep
and as for mr ripper, I'd advantage me, doubling up monk and fighter left you with a lot of overlap which is something to avoid in gestalt.
you'd be better off with cleric/monk, or Cleric/fighter (though I would go cleric/soulknife if I was going fighter-y)

Thank you
Eben's Circus |

But I wasn't. I was referring to Biter. :)

I guess that all depends on what you're trying to get out of your gestalt concept/build.

Alicarus Vorasik, "The Ripper" |

I considered brawler. A lot. But I ended up deciding that, all in all, it just wasn't quite what I wanted for the character. I was also going to go monk/warpriest at one point, but ended up disliking that combo as well.
To be totally frank, as of right now, I'm just not that thrilled by a lot of the ACG Playtest classes. Brawler isn't bad, but it didn't scream anything special.
I may try a Cleric/Brawler build out just to see how it looks.

Eben's Circus |

Yah, Brawler has a few niche abilities that I may use to multi class for a few concepts, but overall i was left feeling "why wouldn't i just multi class a Brawler-archetype Fighter and whatever flavor of monk i want"?
I think Bloodrager, Slayer, and the new Arcanist have some potential. I haven't delved too deeply on the others.

Clifford "Cliff" Barton |

cool, and I'm not saying your build sucks, just that at first glance it seems unoptimized,
rule of thumb is that if you are giving up caster levels you should be getting something pretty awesome in return (note, this only applies if you have a caster level to begin with)
